The Bruery Mash & Coconut

The Bruery Mash & Coconut

Imperial Brown Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Toasted Coconut Added
This rendition of our classic bourbon barrel-aged imperial brown ale amplifies the coconut character natively derived from extensive bourbon barrel-aging.
This is our classic bourbon barrel-aged imperial brown ale, Mash™, stretching to new levels. Mash & Coconut™ has toasted coconut added – nearly 1 lb. per gallon, which ratchets up the complex coconut character. It also complements the oaky and vanilla notes that are imparted to the beer as part of its extensive maturation in bourbon barrels.

4.0 Bottle 750ml at Ruovesi. From Alko web shop. Pours hazy brown with thin tan color head. Flavor has strong bourbon barrel, vanilla, coconut, chocolate. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet finish.
3.5 Fragrance of alcohol, overripe berries and oak barrels. Coconut, overripe fruits and oak barrels in taste. Really good bitterness that fills the upper and front of the mouth for a long time. Good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
4.0 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large dark brown foamy head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, residual sugar and strong coconut notes. Taste is also a mix of strong coconut notes with some woody bourbon notes and some coconut notes with quite a bit of residual sugar notes. Body is pretty full with good carbonation with some warming alcohol notes. Intense but enjoyable when shared with friends.
3.8 Draft to taster in a flight at Cappy's. Pours a clear amber/caramel color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, coconut, marzipan, bourbon vanilla, oak, very sweet, I don't need more than the 4 oz. sample, very good in small amounts.
4.2 Duza slodycz,kokos ogromny,smaczne,marcie smakowalo,0.25l 31zl dobry zbeer
4.2 Świetny aromat nugatu, pralin orzechowych, czekolady, nieprzesadzony, kokosowy. W smaku słodkie, kawowe, czekoladowe, gdzieś w tle grają jakieś owoce. Jedynym minusem jest zbyt wysokie nagazowanie.
3.6 Tastes as if it was bourbon Brown Ale BA... Boozy as hell. Empty besides that. Too much caramel. Dark bread, candied fruits and peels, dates, carmelized honey.
3.7 W aromacie kokos, wanilia, ciemne słody. Barwa brązowa, piana ok. W smaku pełne, kokosowe, ciemne słody. Alkohol trochę przeszkadza i wysokie wysycenie.
Dangerously drinkable.
4.3 A symphony. Red berries, marmalade, cookiedough, jaffacakes. Fruity and deep malty flavour, coconut is discrete.
Super
4.2 Opiekane marshmallow, kokos, karmel, wiśnie w czekoladzie, słodziaczek, bardzo gęsty.
3.6 Mikołaj Rutkowski is drinking a Mash & Coconut (2017) by The Bruery at Morze Piwa Gdzie ten kokos ?
3.8 There's some coconut in the soft malty nose. Pours rich amber with ruby tint. Thin lace. Taste is medium to full sweetness with a light bitter finish. Not much vanilla for a BBA save a sweet boost.. Palate is silky smooth as you like with not a hint of the 13% you are ingesting (parental advisory). Not the best of their range by a margin, but hey....
3.6 Tap @ Pien, Helsinki. Poured dark brown color with a thin white head. Coconut obviously, malts and sweetness. Bit boozy with malts, coconut, sweetness and vanilla. Long finish.
Pours a dark Reddish brown color with a small beige head of foam that fades away quickly. The aroma shows note sweet of burnt sugar, toasted caramel, coconut, and booze over a dark chocolate and caramel malt base along with notes of bourbon soaked oak. The flavor follows suit with more toasted caramel, burnt sugar, coconut, and light dark chocolate up front to go with the bourbon oak, and woody vanilla with some heat from the booze on the back end, Full bodied, cloying, and sugary sweet with soft carbonation that leads to a lengthy, warming, toasted caramel, brown sugar, coconut, and bourbon oak on the finish. Just too much sweetness and booze for me to really enjoy a lot of this.
3.6 750ml pours a hazy caramel brown. Nose has caramel, whiskey, coconut, marzipan. Flavor is big with brown sugar and coconut cake, marzipan, booze, caramel, whiskey. Sticky finish. 7 4 7 4 14
3.8 75cl Bottle @ Mikkeller Webshop, Copenhagen, Denmark. Brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is malt, sweet, dried fruits, coconut, oak, slightly boozy. Taste is malt, caramel, prunes, coconut, vanilla, toffee, oak, alcohol. Full body, soft carbonation.
3.8 On tap at Trail's End. Pours a clear, dark, brown color, with a big, bubbly, beige head. Immense toasted coconut, vanilla, allspice, and cocoa. Sweet and syrupy, with a mild boozy finish. Heavy body, with a syrupy, sharp mouthfeel. This is a decadent, focused, and delicious beer.
3.6 Small pour at Half Barre. Mahogany brown. Nose is bourbon barrel and coconut. Tastes of coconut, vanilla, oak, bourbon, booze, raspberry. Thinner palate than imagined.
3.6 on tap scura schiuma media liquore liquirizia riscaldante amaro medio buon corpo
3.3 barwa brunatna, piana skąpa szybko zanikająca. Aromat średnio-intensywny, dużo toffi, krówek, trochę suszu owocowego. W tle wanilia, drewno i niuanse kokosa. Alkohol wyczuwalny. W smaku słodkie, toffi, karmel, wanilia, kokos w domyśle. Finisz wytrawny i wyraźnie alkoholowy. Całość mocno degustacyjna.
3.8 Bottle, 750 ml shared with Max, Vanja and Boris. 2017. Brown with beige head. Caramel, coconut, vanilla, some dried fruit, quite sweet. Full bodied.
4.0 My weekend with HuskerTan included 2 coconut-infused Imperial Porters. If there's one thing that never ceases to amaze me about the brewing world, it's the fact that 2 beers of a similar style can taste wildly different from one another. The other brew was Maui's Imperial Coconut Porter. That beer was more balanced and had a pleasant toasty bitterness to counter its starch. The Bruery's Porter is a much more hedonistic take. Coconut is toasty and creamy. Chocolate is rich and milky. There's a strong note vanilla and a bit of caramel. It's pure candy. While this would typically require a bigger sweet tooth than the one that I have, I can't help but admire the all-out dedication to creating chocolate bar flavors.
3.7 Draught at Fermentoren. Dark brown coloured with a small beige head. Fruity aroma of caramel, dried fruits and coconuts. Sweet and light roasted flavour of caramel, coconuts and dark chocolate. Light roasted and warming alcoholic finish.
3.4 Tasting @Luppolo Station (Rome). Ambrata torbida, schiuma bianco-sporca media e persistente. Al naso note di mela grattuggiata, toffee, caramello, cocco. In bocca è dolce, maltata, caramello, toffee, chiusura appena amara. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Ok.
3.3 On tap at The Wandering Tortoise. Hazy reddish with a medium head. Sweet with bourbon, coconut, dried fruit, caramel and some malt. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol.
3.9 Solsletta 311218. Brown color with a beige head. Aroma is coconut, caramel, bourbon. Flavor is alcohol, coconut, caramel, bourbon, dried fruits, toffee, oak, sugar, vanilla. Boozy beer.
3.4 Bottle. A- Vanilla, coconut, chocolate, syrup. A- Dark brown color, cloudy liquid, beige head. T- Vanilla, coconut, chocolate, sweet, booze. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- Second Bruery beer after the first one being a White Chocolate Barleywine that was an infected mess. This was not infected but holy sweetness. I can see why people love or hate the Bruery. This was good but way too sweet and sugary. Liquid candy like. About 4-5 oz would be plenty.
