The Bruery Mischief (2009-2016)

The Bruery Mischief (2009-2016)

Belgian-style ale, golden and hoppy. Not quite evil, yet not to be trusted, this Golden Ale is effervescent, dry, hoppy and crisp-you’ll want to keep an eye out. (ABV: 8.5%, IBU: 35, SRM: 4, Format: 750 mL bottles and draft) [formerly Mischief #3, this is now the bottled version]

3.8 75 cl. bottle. A hazy golden coloured beer with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, yeast, spice, fruit, hops, citus and grass.
3.7 4th Sep 2017: Shrewsbury Bottle Share in Chez Sophie. 750ml bottle supplied by me, bought in Jan 2017 somewhere in California and brought home to share with friends (five of us on the night). Small white head on a misty golden body. The aroma had some spice and citrus leanings, taste a little sweeter than the nose indicated, again with a spicy content alongside a yeasty trace or two in the flavours. Liked it.
4.0 75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 17. Pours a misty gold, small white head. Aroma is spicy sweet. Taste is full-flavoured spicy sweet Belgian ale territory, soft and fruity. Decent clobber.
3.6 750mL bottle from Boozebud Pale gold body, pours a good sized white foam. Decent nose to it - citrusy, grass, slightly tropical fruit hop character combine with spicy, peppery phenolic notes & grainy malt. Fairly high carbonation, body doesn't give away its strength, reasonably dry overall impression. Hop character forward - lime, mango, grass, bolstered by pear-like esters, white pepper & doughy notes with some grainy, toasty malt in the background. Finishes dry, low bitterness. Not quite a Belgian golden strong, not quite an IPA - nice though!
3.9 Prawdopodobnie jest to rocznik 2015. Ciezko to zdiagnozowac.
3.6 Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a big super stable head. Aroma is light tropical fruit, light farmhouse, phenols, a bit of booze. Body is medium to heavy, quite sweet and decently bitter, with a lively carbonation and strong flavours typical for Belgian ales: Phenols, minerals, earthy, farmhouse, a hint of funk. Palate is long, warming and a bit boozy. Good, but unusual.
3.6 Hazy golden color Average head. A bit sweet upfront, but fruity hops at finish. $4.99 per 750 ml closeout.
3.5 I’m presuming the bottle I have is the 2016 vintage, though the label has no information on it. Upon opening not a real pop. But, it poured a nice frothy white head, which held up quite longer than typically expected. Clear golden body. Aromas of wet grass. Salty flavor, with shades of bitter citrus. Normal mouth feel and a bitter aftertaste on the palate. Not bad. But, not a favorite either.
3.6 Golden colour with light haze and soapy head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of caramelised sweet fruits like peaches and oranges. In the aftertaste there is a spicy, peppery, yeastiness.
3.8 On tap at First Draft Taproom & Kitchen. Yellow and slightly hazy appearance with a bubbly white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, toasted grain, light earth and a light herbal spice. Similar flavor, adding a mild malt sweetness and balanced by a mild bitterness. Medium body with a pleasant mouth feel and a smooth finish. Well done and easy to drink, pretty enjoyable overall.
3.7 Bottle@Bottle Shop, Bjerringbro. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is malt, dried fruits, tropical fruits, caramel, hops. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Dry light bitter finish.
3.2 Rami Rami is drinking a Mischief by The Bruery at Saska Kępa Aromat multiwitaminowego soczku z warzywami, w smaku ciut gryzaco-brzoskwiniowe, miodek (utlenione?), dobre ale troche etam, gupi duvel lepsiejszy
3.8 Bottle Pours hazy deep orange hue with a nice foamy white head that dissipates fairly quickly but leaves behind a foamy ring around the surface of the beer. Nose is estery, bright fruits, slightly grainy, lite sweetness. Flavors are alot like the nose but mostly estery and floral fruit notes. not very complex but quite refreshing nonetheless. finish is short with just a pinch of lingering grainy notes. somewhat husky. decent belgian brew!
3.9 75cl fles. Troebel blond kleur, fijne romige witte schuimkraag. Aroma van citrus en mout. Smaak is zoet, citrus, water meloen en mout. Vol lichaam, veel koolzuur.
3.6 Bottle. Fruit and hop effervescent golden ale. Fruit is the main thing here. Bananas, strawberries, passionfruit, cherries, watermelon rind. Chardonnay on the backend. Some hop but it’s mellow. The bottle is 18 months old.
3.7 November 27th, 2014 - Bready, biscuity, tasty and savory, Bruery’s Mischief is a bakery-in-a-glass. Even the color reminds me of a baguette’s crust, with the foam obediently collapsing to get a better view of the freshly baked appearance. The aroma is milder than the carbonation suggests, releasing samples of the yeast and bread notes to come. But it’s in the flavor where this brew rises to the occasion (ha!), mixing all the tasty smells and scents of a freshly baked boule, though overall tasting mild.
3.8 Bruine gele kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt zoetig , fruitig, kruiden. Smaakt zoetig, kruiden, vanille, tikkeltje bitter.
3.5 Ruikt Belgisch, smaakt Belgisch blond maar wel lekker. Niet te zoet, niet te kruidig.
3.0 From Mikkeller Shop. In Teku glass. Playing The Last Door 2. Overrated.Similar to a Troubadour Magma but much more expensive and with a stronger grassy bitterness that in the long run becomes tiresome. Body is on the watery side.
3.8 Bottle, 750 ml from Beergium. Shared with rest at the grand tasting 11/2016. Pours cloudy yellow golden with medium white head. Malty, citrus hoppiness, lemon, yeasty. Light to medium sweetness and acidity. Medium bodied.
3.8 Bottled 07/07/14. Cloudy gold with a big white head. Aromas of yeast, fresh tropical fruits, dried peaches, & citrus zest. Arrives with plenty of sweetness from tropical fruits & dried fruits. Middle has some funky yeast & zests. Finishes dry with bitter citrus rind & booze. Nice hops going on here. Light body with a moderately crisp carbonation; booze is mostly well hidden until it warms up. Overall very drinkable and refreshing!
3.4 Pour is a hazy golden with a huge white head. Aroma is estery and fruity with some banana and clove like a German hefe. Flavor is a big honeydew with accompanying sweetness. I also get some yeast esters and clove. Not as light and effervescent as I thought it would this has more of a heavy full mouthfeel. The sweetness is gone after the swallow leaving some grainy malt. Decent but not great, a bit too heavy for the style.
3.6 (bottle 1 year old) Aroma:multi-fruit juice,malt.honey. Appearance:golden color,hazy,huge frothy head. Taste:semi-sweet,flavour of multi-fruit juice,carrot and malt. Palate:medium body,low to medium carbonation. Overall:Veeery drinkable one,no booziness whatsoever.
3.9 750 ml on sale at Lifesource in Salem OR. $7.99 I for got this in the freezer for few minutes too long..so to begin with it was a wonderful Belgian slushy. Eventually poured a hazy bright yellow ale with a huge frothy and fluffy white head. Aromas of hop , lemon zest and spicy yeast..nice. Same as the aroma but more of a lovely yet weird lemonade finish. Mouth feel is very nice..smooth yet spicy good stuff Very nice beer indeed
3.4 Bottle Aroma-fruits, mustard Appearance-golden, hazy, white foam, Taste-medium bitterness, light sweetness, lightly sour, Palate-medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish, Overall-interesting, very drinkable
3.9 Bottle to glass - pours a light, hazy orange with a frothy eggshell head. Aroma is yeast, coriander, estery florals and some funk...Spicy and inviting. A bit spritzy leading to a dry finish. Full of flavor, spice, banana, grass, good.
3.6 Golden color with a frothy white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is light yeasty with some sweet malty hints. Flavor is light sweet, notes of marzipan. Spiced final with light sweetness and yeasty hints.
3.9 Mellow orange color with a healthy white head of foam. Sweet citrus with well balanced malt to spice blend. Light yeasty and doughy malt support floral, spices and light bright hop characters.
3.3 Unfortunately, I think the hops overpowered the rest of this beer. There are some spicy notes, barely enough to remind you that it was fermented with a Belgian yeast strain, a lot of hop bitterness, and not much else. This isn’t a bad beer, but it isn’t great.
