The Bruery Rueuze (2012-2014)

The Bruery Rueuze (2012-2014)

Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

[Admin note: Listed as a Gueuze due to brewer’s intent. This beer is brewed with a traditional lambic grist, 3 year aged hops, spontaneously fermented in oak (with out pitching yeast), and a blend of 3 vintages. -BMan1113VR ]

4.1 2014 bottle shared at AA. Tons of gooseberry, lemon and grass all over the nose. Some pinot grigio notes. Sour, light, crisp carbonation and refreshing. The perfect summer beer for a rooftop in Yokohama.
3.7 750ml bottle thanks to darrel. Pours out a hazy wheat color topped with a small white head. Nose is lemon zest some wet wheat and a barnyard funk. Taste is more of the barnyard funk lemon citrus and some wheat notes.
4.0 Large Format - Light golden color to it with a slight haze. Great tart flavor, barrel aged but I don’t taste any oak which is good. Not a complex beer but I love the flavor. Well balanced tartness, really enjoyed this beer.
3.7 Super clean/clear golden with suds of white head. Funky tart aroma. Lemony tart and moderately dry, just a touch of acidity in the finish.
4.1 Pours a golden yellow with fizzy head. Aromas of lemony, vinous, barnyard funk. Tastes tart sour apple barnyard funk.
4.1 courtesy of Olivier Vurchio and Valter Loverier - clear golden beer, no foam; funky aroma with notes of barnyard and rhubarb; very sour, subtle carbonation; dry; aftertaste of apples, funky notes and light cheesy, lingering notes of pineapples - clean and very good
4.2 Bottle. Golden body with a lively white head. Aroma of apples, peach, barnyard. Taste is mostly sour though it rests on a sweet vanilla and malt character giving it balance. Funky and fresh, lasting tart dryness, this is a great one.
4.3 Fantastic sour taste that builds with every sip. Just love it. Well worth the cost
4.2 Hazy blonde, with an off-white head, with funky wild yeast, sour funky nose, taste is sharp fruity green apple, acidic lemon, oak barrel character, with some light vanilla, funky yeast, wine, lemon juice flavours, with a nice sweet finish..
3.7 Bottle: Poured a hazy blonde color beer with a medium foamy head with limited retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of funky yeast notes with light barnyard notes and some tart notes. Taste is a well balance mix of tart notes with some funky yeast and light barnyard feel. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice level of complexity but still not close to the level that can be tasted in Belgian lambic. I loved the way they control the acidity level.
4.1 Sampled at Great American Beer Festival 9/24/15. Aroma of sour notes, straw, funky yeast and stone fruits. Hints of oak and vanilla in the flavor. Very nice and refreshing overall.
3.5 Kindly shared by Martin @wethopping BBQ; aromas of dry cider, wood and a hint of funk, continued in taste; moderately tart, still sweet; nicely balanced. Good and refreshing.
3.6 Sample at Funvitational. Aroma is sour, dank. Appearance is straw yellow, thin white head. Taste is sour, light. Mouthfeel is light, strong mouthfeel. Overall, meh.
3.5 75 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy golden with a tiny bit of sediment and a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are brett, lemon, and wood - with a tart finish.
4.0 @ Mikkeller Viktoriagade, København 15-8-7: Mycket trevlig syrlig ton med stor smak av vindruvor. Mycket fin balans. Gott.
4.3 Bottle at Mikkeller Bar. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of funk, wood, citrus, grapes and some hay. Similar taste. Elegant and with a nice funkiness. A very refreshing and nicely drinkable beer.
3.6 Dégustée en compagnie de Mademoiselle Irina. Le liquide est jaune et presque orangé. Trouble, mousseux.
3.3 Cloudy yellow-amber colored, small white head. Aroma is sour, funky, some tart fruits and fruity sweetness. Taste is low to moderate sweet malt, funky, extreme sourness, almost unbearable, lactic, and then very nice oak and vanilla. Tart oaky aftertaste. Very dry finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Too sour for my buds, but the aroma and aftertaste are supreme.
3.7 100 ml sample. Murky golden, small white head. Complex aroma with green fruit acidity, some vanilla and fruit. The taste is more straight forward and „classic” - clean lacto, very light funk. Hints of acetic. Good.
3.9 Ratebeer Odense Summer Gathering 2015. Hazy orange with a small white head. Clean and super fucking aweome crisp funky flavour, leading into a little

4.4 Appearance: Cloudy golden color with white head Aroma:Big sour nose with grapefruit and orange peel Taste: Yep, definitely picking up the apricot and some cherry wood. Heavy on the tart factor. Overall: Just a wonderful golden sour with a with a pronounced pucker and barrel infused fruity complexity.
3.7 On tap at Toronado. Golden color with small white head. Apple funk, citrus acid, some barnyaed. Taste is dry citrus acid, apples, classic bretts, but very strong on the apples. Carbonation is medium for a Gueuze. A good Gueuze, albeit quite American - more citrus acid than barnyard funk.
4.2 Bottle. Fantastic. If you don’t believe me, Superspak also gave it a 4.2 and had this to say about it, " 750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/10/2013. Pours slightly hazy bright gold color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, leather, musty funk, oak, pepper, cracker, light wheat, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, musty funk, leather, oak, pepper, cracker, wheat, and yeast/oak earthiness. Good amount of fruity/vinegar acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, musty funk, leather, oak, pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great crisp malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately acidic, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome gueuze style. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on with the balanced acidity. A highly enjoyable offering."
3.9 Bottle. Straw in colour, clear, very small white head. In aroma citrus, tart fruits and lots of barnyar. The beer is medium sweet, medium-high sour, light bitter. It has flavours of lemon, apricot, lemon zest with oaky hints as well. Medium to low bodied, fizzy carbonated. In overal very nice beer.

4.3 Aroma of tart fruit and citrus. Beautiful deep gold with a hint of amber, white head dissipates quickly. Assertive sourness with apple, peach and apricot flavors up front and a slight oak character on the finish. Excellent beer.
