The Bruery So Happens It's Tuesday

The Bruery So Happens It's Tuesday

In 1929, America was devastated by a great stock market crash that led to The Great Depression. Our infamous Black Tuesday stout is named in honor of the largest trading day of that crash, which led to some very dark times for our country. “So Happens it’s Tuesday” is a slightly less intense incarnation of Black Tuesday, reminding us that there is always some good to be found within the bad. Things happen, life goes on, and this beer can be enjoyed in all of those moments.

3.7 One pint can. Pours an opaque brown with a proper dense tan stout head. Big bourbon smells. Sweet bourbon boozy warming flavors with some ash in the tart finish. The alcohol is very present but not unpleasantly so. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Some chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as a coffee acidity. Pretty good as a winter warmer by the fire.
4.2 On tap at Tørst, 2018 vintage. Pours black with a tan head. Vanilla, sweet vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, biscuit, strong bourbon, prune, cranberry, port, praline. Decent body. Good.
2.8 On tap at Das Beer Garden. Black. Smells of strong whiskey and only whiskey. Tastes of bourbon and hints of malt. But mostly bourbon. A little roasted malt in the finish. Not sweet. Just boozy and hot. Medium heavy. I got 4 oz of this and it's numbing my mouth as if I were drinking straight bourbon. There's nothing else to it, really. And while that's a fine flavor, it's the only flavor.
4.0 Sysimusta lasissa tummalla beigellä vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on vahvaa paahdetta, suklaata ja vaniljaista viskiä. Suutuntuma on täyteläinen. Mausta löytyy viskisyyttä, vaniljaa, hieman alkoholisuutta ja tummaa suklaata. Loistava, tasapainoinen IS.
3.8 13.10.2021: 473 ml can at home, 15.3% ABV, 2020 Edition, canned 27.8.2020, bought at The Crafts, Kloten. Pours a very dark mahogany with a tan colored head. Aroma of sweet bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, dark fruits, raisins, prunes, dates, brown sugar, caramel and fudge. Medium full to full body with a soft carbonation, a medium to medium-heavy sweetness, a light roasty bitterness and noticeable booze. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, brown sugar, molasses, some chocolate, bourbon, boozy bourbon, vanilla, marzipan, dark fruits, raisins and dark cherries. Finishes with vanilla, nuts, sweet bourbon, chocolate and a warming feeling. Overall very boozy and heavy and not with a lot of roasty notes but distinct notes of Bourbon and dark fruits. Not thin but also not particularly thick regarding the ABV. Aroma: 8 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 15
4.3 Black with a small beige head. Sweet and malty with anise, strong dark fruit, red wine and chocolate. Incredibly long finish. Full bodied
3.9 Burk från Kihoskh Köpenhamn. Svart med ljusbrunt skum. Katrinplommon, choklad och bourbon i smak och doft.
4.1 Black color, small brown head. Aromas of bourbon, licorice, vanilla, dried figs, cacao and raisins. Taste of dried fruit, bourbon, alcohol, vanilla and cacao.
4.0 Canned 473ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Green label, 15.3%ABV. Pitch black coloured, small brown head that went away fast, bourbon, alcohol and chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, light nutty and noticable alcohol with roasty finish.
4.0 Can. 2020 edition. 15.3%. Black with a fairly large fizzy light brown head. Aroma of bourbon barrel, molasses, roasted malt and a hint of smoked meat. Sweet and roasted, plenty of barrel and bourbon. Full bodied.
4.2 Mörk choklad, rostad malt och Bourbonfat. Lagom söt med perfekt beska.
4.5 I've got a '20 version, pint can, of the brew, ABV is is on the label as 15.3%. Stashed for a few months, brought out on a late Friday night. An imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels, normally it does not get better than this, particularly from the Bruery. Poured into my ABGB snifter, I see a black with a hint of brown around the edges body with a small parchment brown skim. A glorious scent, chocolate, booze and berries. A taste, oh geez, this is grand, heavy with the bourbon booziness, bakers chocolate, caramel, hard candy, dark bread, alfalfa and strawberries to my tempered palate. High level indeed for a style I like very much. Rich and complex.
4.4 Booze. Dark fruit. Fruitcake. Pours dark mahogany almost black with a thick dark tan fizzy head. Fizzles away fairly quickly to nothing but a thin slick on the surface. Thick soft mouthfeel. It reminds me of that hearty black bread with like a fig preserve spread on it. Super boozy. Some hints of vanilla and toffee. This is incredibly good.
3.8 Bottle. Pours clear black, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is molasses, bourbon, vanilla, bakers chocolate. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light bitter, a bit boozy. Medium body.
4.4 15.3%, 2020 edition.
4.5 2017 edition, 14.6%. Appearance is black, opaque, with a small light brown head which clings a bit. Aroma is rich chocolate, fudge cake, vanilla, molasses, burnt fruitcake, ashy slightly smoky roast malt, rich roast coffee, treacle, charred oak, bourbon. Taste is thick, rich chocolate, chewy toffee, treacle, chocolate brownie, espresso, scorched dark malt, Christmas cake, molasses, oaky vanilla, whisky. Thick and sticky mouthfeel, and very chewy. Lengthy sweet finish with a bit of boozy heat. Ridiculously rich and sweet, almost too much (but not quite).
5.0 Lots of brown sugar. Gula melaka. Wow. Some cinnamon. Abit of toasted coconut. God damn. 15.3% is sick but just abit of alcohol warmth? I'm getting smashed. Very rich and flavourful. Freaking good. It's perfect.
4.5 Canned, 2020 vintage, 15.3% ABV. What the hell ever happened to bottled, corked and caged fancy BA stouts? They sure as hell are trying to make ‘em inconspicuous these days. For the $12 that I paid for a single can I expect a goddamn day at the spa. Well, since that’s not possible in Covid times - this took me pretty close. Although I’m already 3 beers deep so maybe that’s my ego talking. Regardless, this little bastard took me for a spin. Pours like Texas crude with some fat-bottomed head the color of toasted marshmallow. Appearance is flawless. Over an hour long drinking the head swirls like a vicious West Pacific typhoon in my snifter. The nose is serious; sautéed brown sugar and butter, clove, rum, bourbon and charred oak. So much going on in the flavor; starts sweet with cinnamon candy apple, molasses, maple syrup blasted into bourbon barrel. A tinge of acidity on the front end with a fine oily finish on the palate. Given the high ABV it’s damn balanced. It’s unfortunate I’m an impatient parent looking for a late night relief after the kids are asleep in the work-from-home pandemic era, because with a few years on this young beer it could be all-time. That being said, it’s pretty damn fine right about now. Jeez.
3.7 2019 can. Into a tulip glass. Massive booze and fusal alcohol on the nose. Moderate baker's chocolate and slight roast. Black with minimal brown head. Flavor is boozy whiskey and slight chocolate. Back half of palate is dry, chalky baker's chocolate. Massive booze on tihs.
4.0 vintage 2019 Appearance: Pours opaque black with a creamy tan head, no lacing. 外观:黑色,浑浊。细腻的米色泡沫,无挂杯。 4/5 Aroma: Caramel, preserved plum, toasted malt, clove, coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce and herbs. 气味:焦糖、话梅、烘烤麦芽、丁香、咖啡、黑巧克力、酱油和药草香气。 8/10 Taste: Toasty caramelish chocolately notes with distinct savory bourbon. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Warming savory bourbon chocolately finish. 味道:烘烤、焦糖和巧克力味,伴随着明显的咸鲜味和波本风味。甜度和苦度适中。尾韵温暖、咸鲜,呈现波本和巧克力味。 8/10 Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied, soft carbonated. Slight oily. 口感:酒体较重,杀口感柔和。入口稍带油润感。 4/5 Overall Palate is relatively thin for 15%, while alcohol was well hidden. Decent BBA stout. 作为15%的酒口感单薄了一些,但酒精隐藏的不错。不错的过波本桶世涛。 16/20
4.1 Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate and vanilla. Flavor was sweet, bitter and boozy with dark chocolate, bourbon, wood, vanilla, raisins and licorice. A solid sipper.
3.7 Major league IS. A hint of coffee, good big mouthfeel. Stout aroma. Nice sipper.
4.5 2017 ed 75cl bottle at home. Very dark brown, foamy beige head. Nice portorisation, dried fruits, nuts, vinous, chocolate, whiskey boozy, liquorice - complex stuff. Great porto boozy finish. Good body, medium carbonation.
3.3 waaaaaay too sweet to fully enjoy
4.0 12th September 2020 Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is pretty light really, light for 14.8% for sure! Good fine carbonation lightens the palate further. The dark malts bring a decent amount of creamy dark chocolate, but it's no use pretending that the star of the show is bourbon. Fruity bourbon, light and warming and surprisingly not that spicy, well not after the De Molen Heaven Hill beer before this one. A little soft coconut goes very well with the dark chocolate. Smooth and fairly light finish. So light and drinkable.
4.0 Very high quality for the style. The way they should be done. Not too sweet, the boozy warmth perfectly balances the roast. Great creamy body. Everything big, but nothing too big. Schouskjelleren Oslo.
4.0 Sort skum brun kort Mørk malt peber tømmer vanjile bitter choklade Bitter modrate sød lidt
4.3 Opaque black beer with a slight beige head. Medium/heavy aroma; taste starts heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Wood, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and alcohol. 8/5/9/4
3.8 Black body with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts dried fruits. Taste is malts caramel raisins fruits. Aftertaste is nice balanced with some alcohol in the background.
