The Bruery White Chocolate

The Bruery White Chocolate

The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.

3.8 Amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Caramel, honey, cocoa, vanilla beans, wood, and booze.
3.5 With Z and Z, pours a rusty brown color. Taste is strong whiskey and caramel , malty, with strong alcohol. Texture is thick with soft carbonation. Finishes on the sweet malty caramel notes.
3.7 Where: Can in parkland With: J, A, Z, and M Color: Hazy rust/orange Head: Minimal, white, dissipates quickly Aroma: Vanilla and Bourbon Taste: Bourbon and Vanilla notes. Heavy alcohol, medium bitterness. Slightly malty. 3.7/5
3.9 Can. Pours a rusty orange with an aroma of bourbon m. Taste is bourbon up front, warming alcohol with vanilla into the long finish.
4.0 Can. Moderate to heavy caramel for the malt, light cooked orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with cola, sherry, and honey in the background. Head is small, fizzy, light beige, with a small slippery ring of lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is hazy medium brown, Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweet, slightly acidic and faintly bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy, with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. Great Wheat Wine, hugely complex and pretty smooth for the alcohol content
3.7 16 oz can. Pours a dark amber orange color and capped by a thin beige layer of foam that fades away quickly. The aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, toasted vanilla, bourbon oak, and some dark fruit over a rich, toasted caramel and toffee malt base with hints of booze. The flavor follows suit with notes of dark fruit, plums, toasted vanilla, and light chocolate up front to go with the rich caramel, bourbon and oak that enhances the vanilla character with boozy warmth on the back end. Medium bodied and smooth with soft carbonation that leads to a dark fruit, toasted caramel, bourbon, and oak laden vanilla on the finish with the lingering warmth from the alcohol. Drinks fairly light for being so boozy. Interesting beer to try but not something I would reach for often.
3.8 Bottle at kschep. Cloudy amber coloured with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of white chocolate. Fruity flavour of caramel and dried fruits with notes of white chocolate. Sweet finish.
3.1 Bottleshare at We Brought Beer, Balham aroma is more full of marzipan and coconut and less white chocolate. Fairly sweet and less saccharine than expected; some nice vanilla and cocoa notes.
3.9 How: Draught. Where: MBCC 2019. Appearance: Hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Chocolate, malt, alcohol, fruit, vanilla. Body: Medium body, low carbonation. Flavour: Chocolate, malt, caramel, fruit, alcohol.
4.1 My bottle says it is 13.8%, 2017 edition. The aroma is sweet figs/dates and chocolate. Pours a hazy caramel brown with light tan head fully diminishing, good lacing. The taste is chocolate, a medium sweet then light bitter. The body is full, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. A very good barleywine variety.
3.8 Keg at Steam Punk Bar 2019-09-12 Göteborg AR: alcoholic sour, fruity AP: amber hazy, no head F: warming feelings, white grape, sour fruity
3.7 Clear, orange/amber, with great malty:granular and bourbon aroma, quite alcoholic, raisins, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, oak, fruits, decent
4.1 50ml bottle from Bucket Boys ( I think?) 14.3% abv 2019 edition Rather marvelous looking beer - pale copper is best describe it, reasonably clear, beige head wants to hang around but doesn't quite have the legs... There are legs left on the glass coincidentally... Yummy aroma - Malteaser/Milo thing going on, toasted coconut, loads of vanilla bean, waffles and pancakes, sultana, dried fig, booze... It's rather sumptuous, voluptuous; a bit of carbonation but on the low end sort of cutting a bit into the thickness of it, as is the oaken tannin and booze, sort of evening things out somewhat. White chocolate is a bit of a stretch, but perhaps if you were to look past the overly sweet milky commercial stuff, this might be a reimagining of what could be - cocoa, pale malt extract, toasted oak, coconut, vanilla, butter, pale toffee, sultana, touch of like Madeira (cake) - oaken tannin in the mix, hop bitterness there but on the outskirts, booze not shy but welcoming. Very well put together; honestly, pulled the cap early on this - a couple of years I recon this would be magical. Still very nice!
4.2 Sunday, June 23, 2019. On tap. @BeerTemple, Amsterdam, NL. A sparkling orange amber light opaque beer ; small head ; no lacing. Bourbon smell, chocolate (white chocolate? why not yes... !), light sugar, dried fruits (raisin). Medium to heavy round sweet, warming atmosphere, cheerful, light to medium bitter. Good body, thin oily texture, flat, coffee chocolate bourbon finish. Overall, wonderful !
3.8 On tap at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Hazy dark orange color, no foam. Nose: sweet vanilla smoothy. Mouth: lovely, soft vanilla, sweet rise cake.

4.1 Barwa bursztynowa, piwo przymglone. Aromat intensywny, dużo suszu owocowego, trochę słodkiej wanilii, marcepanu i nut kakao. W smaku słodkie, niezbyt cieliste, susz owocowy, wanilia, alkohol rozgrzewający bourbonowy.
5.0 2017 edition. Hazy dark orange pour with a small white head. Aroma of vanilla and cocoa beans and marzipan. White chocolate. Huge vanilla flavour followed by burning sweet alcohol. Smooth, full mouthful. Great.
4.2 Hazy, amber. Medium - sized off- white head. Bourbon, vanilla, milc chocolate, coffee and malt in the aroma. Rather sweet taste with the same notes. Warming finish but alcohol is not noticeable.
3.7 Oh wow somehow I hadn't ticked this. What better time to tick it than when you're in New Zealand and just helped five patients with their prostates in one day? Answer: There is no better time. Hazy muddy orange-brown pour reminiscent of the legendary Bruery beer DBJW. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, banana bread, bourbon, spice. Flavor is sweet but not crazy so, lots of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate. Slight heat. Full body, warming feel, lower carbonation. Decent brew.
3.9 Slightly cloudy amber beer with a frothy off-white head. Nose of light cocoa, chocolate covered orange peel, sweet vanilla, and creme brulee. Flavor is sweet and musky with prominent white chocolate, a touch of bitter cocoa, and a pervasive vanilla note. Incredibly evocative beer that is not a novelty. Delicious.
4.8 One of the best beers ever! I really couldnt expect that a "light beer" can win such rating given from me. A lot of richness of chocolate (white), a lot of quality, aroma of brandy, whiskey, was amazing! Will remember forever! Finally I got this beer! No more words. Years ago it was just a dream...
3.5 Draught at Bruery. Hazy amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, alcohol, wheat, ripe fruits, almond, toffee and again alcohol. Bitter finish with citrus, alcohol, almond, ripe fruits, toffee and again alcohol. Drinkable but not too good.
3.5 Alkohol: 13,8% obj. Edycja: 2017 Kolor: Bursztynowy kolor, zamglony. Piana: Żółta, drobno i średnio pęcherzykowata piana. Znacznie powyżej moich oczekiwań. Powoli kurczy się do opasłej obrączki, pozostawiając na szkle liczne wąsy piwne. Zapach: Na pierwszym planie siła kandyzowanych owoców. Mnóstwo słodkich moreli, fig, rodzynek i suszonych śliwek. Następne niuchy przenoszą nad do fabryki czekolady. Mleczna czekolada, ziarna kakaowca i kremowe, puszyste pralinki belgijskie. Całość oblewa beczka po bourbonie wraz z jej waniliową odsłoną i przypalonym karmelem. Nazwa trunku doskonale oddaje klimat białej czekolady. Smak: W smaku o dziwo królują czerwone owoce: porzeczki, czerwone winogrona, wiśnie i czereśnie. Wraz z nimi kompozycje tworzą elementy karmelu, miodu, przypraw korzennych, fig i suszonych śliwek. Wysycenie: Niskie do średniego.
4.0 An interesting beer where the white chocolate is pretty recognizable, enough that this feels more like a strong ale than a barleywine really. Glad I found it on tap so I didn't have to drink a whole huge bottle of this.
4.2 Reminds me of Time and Tide Domino, but with less alcohol and bit less complex Something in between imperial golden stout and wheat wine. Marzipan, vanilla, chocolate and bit grainy. Cloudy golden color with medium sized white head. Chocolate, vanilla, coconut and burbon taste, some wood barrel and cocoa. Medium body, average carbonation. Alcohol is present only in aroma, and even there only in small bits, which is really fascinating for 16% ABV, just wow! First class stuff!
4.1 Bottle 750ml @ yngwie Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, cocoa, alcohol and coconut. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, vanilla, caramel, cocoa, bourbon and coconut finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
