The Bruery White Oak

The Bruery White Oak

Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV)
White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

3.7 Bottle. Cloudy, caramel colored, with a short off-white head. Aroma of bourbon barrel, caramel, toffee, coconut and vanilla. Tastes sweet, woody and boozy and lightly bitter. Thick smooth and full bodied.
4.1 Piana obfita, niezbyt jednak trwała, barwa jasno bursztynowa, opalizująca. W aromacie sporo świeżego kokosa, brzoskwinie, gruszki, miód, a w tle wanilia... Niska, ziołowa goryczka, niskie do średniego wysycenie.

3.5 Sample from a 750ml bottle marked as 12.5% at True Bearing Alehouse, Xiamen. Pours hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of bourbon and fudge with some fruit, white wine and bread. Sweet finish. Ok but not really my thing with the dominating bourbon.

3.5 Bottle from Hopt.nl, shared with Benzai and skortila, 25 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is spicy and grainy, slight sweet caramel and maple syrup and has a bit of autumn leaves or oak wood notes. Quite sweet of maple syrup and vanilla, slight spicy yeast, perfumy alcohol. Nice.
4.1 Aroma is light grape sweetness, lavinder, golden delicious apples, pears, and plum . Taste is sweet malts, caramel, apricot, plum, and sweet bourbon whisky notes. A light oakiness rounds it out the palette very nicely. Appearance is a hazy gold with a frothy pearl head that retains quite well. Top notch stuff.

3.9 Tasting @Pułapka Gdańsk Aroma of dates, raisins, wood, vanilla, sweet malty caramel. Sweet and fruity taste. Oily and full. Alcohol nicely hidden
3.2 The beer pours deep orange with light haze and an off white head. The aromas has thick caramel, vanilla, oak, sweetness and mildly toasted malt. It has a medium full body with light carbonation. The taste is very sweet and much more candy like than the aroma. It is fairly alcoholic and abrasive. There is also some medicinal and metallic aspects. Not what I expected here at all. Wanted more richness as apposed to sweetness and make malt than metallic. So it goes.
4.4 Bottle at hopahplic. Thx zozo. Deep hay yellow colour small white head. Nose is vanilla, oak. Taste is sweet, light bitterness. Strong vanilla oak. Like a barique white wine. A Lingering vanilla aftertase. Amazing.

4.0 Dry white wine. Tart Cherries. Tropical fruit. Pours a murky mango orange with a thick foamy bright white head. Lots of suds left on the glass. Dry white wine. Fair amount of esters. Tart fruit. Velvety mouthfeel.
3.1 Should be listed as a wheatwine.which is a wheaty barley wine. 2016 vintage, from Bottle King. Aroma: Light pepper notes, slight alcohol, sugar (caramel,) light coconut, some vanilla, wheat. reminds me a bit of some whiskeys Appearance: cloudy golden orange color with a tall head, white in color. Taste: Caramel/coconut sweetness with some peppery undertone. Slight fruitiness as well. Slight heat from the alcohol. Palate: A bit too alcoholic for the percentage. Wouldn’t call it this balanced. Overall: Flavors are solid but I find the balance in terms of alcohol flavor/palate. I found the aroma to be slightly better than the taste also.
4.1 Clear golden, minimal white head. Sweet fruity grape, raisins. A bit of oak. Honey. No bitterness, very sweet, hint of funk. Medium body, slightly oily. Long finish. Reasonably hot alcohol. Pretty great. Rated when the Cubs won the World Series.
4.1 Aromat jest intensywny, słodki. Nuty zapachowe w głównej mierze tworzą tutaj suszone owoce: figi, daktyle, morele i odrobina karmelu.
3.7 Aroma, vanilla, figs, fruity, oak,, honey, coco, Taste: medium sweet, vanilla, honey, coco, toffe, alcohol, figs
