The Hop Concept Hop Freshener Series: Lemon & Grassy
Brewed with lemon zest. Our summer IPA features tangy, floral hops on the nose with aromas of fresh-cut grass and lemon peel. On first sip, tangelo and lemon zest burst through with emerging hints of spice from the hops, all balanced by a faint caramel malt backbone.

3.6Tap at harry’s hofbrau. Pours clear yellow with full white head. Aroma dominated by sauvignon, lemon and moderate dank. Flavor follow aroma but has more biscuity malt.
3.9Aroma is spices, lemon/citrus and hops. The flavor is lemon/citrus, caramel/light toffee, malts and a spicy/grassy hoppy finish.
3.7Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma of floral hops, pale malt, lemon, citrus. Flavor of bitter hops, pale malt, bitter grapefruit, citrus. Bitter citrusy hops, a little muddied and heavy palate for a "zesty IPA". Overall pretty good.

3.6Chuck’s 85th, Seattle. White lacing cap, rich gold. Somewhat harsh and robust body, lemon peel or preserved lemons. Grassy malt body. I’m buying in. Aroma belies the body some. Alc rising in finish, fairly coating and tart. Solid beer, but not on the purely refreshing side despite the lemon and summer salesmanship.
3.5Botella @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo 29/09/2016.
Color amarillo,Aromas muy citricos, resinosa, sabor citrico, herbal.
3.422 oz bottle shared with drsordr. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have some lemon zest, grass, grapefruit, alcohol, pale toasted malts, some resiny hops, comes off a bit harsh.
3.4Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour avg to bright gold with thin white head. Nose lemon citrus, slight weedy. Taste initial some bitter but then slightly medicinal alcohol. Mid palate moderate lemon, citrus, and grapefruit juice. Lingering high bitter finish. Seems a little harsh.
3.4Thin head of fine bubbles which dissipated almost instantly but a nice hot spot of carbonation is keeping a nice silver dollar sized heap of foam right in the middle of my glass. Rather weak aroma with some light malts, pine and a tad of sweetness. Maybe a little grass but none of the lemon or citrus they are touting. Color is a medium golden orange. Big bitterness up front in the flavor. Lingering herbal and grassy hops with maybe a bit of lemon rind late. Som dry grains which are a bit chalky on the palate. Finishes bitter and dry and puckering. What it lacks in aroma it makes up for in flavor. A decent IIPA.
4.2Pours cloudy straw gold with a nice big white pillow. Aroma is big lemon and citrus hops and great light malting. Taste is a great balance of hops and grassy malts with a touch of sweetness. Great hop bitterness, so glad that the guy from Port Brewing talked me into getting this one.
3.8Draft at Stone. Aroma of lime, grass and tropical fruit. Soft flavor of mango, dry grass, mild funk and some citric hop. Nice.
4.1Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of bread, lemon zest, grassiness and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of bread, lemon zest, grassiness and light grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
3.6Draught at The Confessional. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy dank, lemon and grassy hops with light cracker malt. Flavor is heavy lemon, grassy and dank hops and bitterness with light cracker malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.4Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin, grass), lightly yeasty (dough), with a hint of lemon zest/pith. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Another solid entry in the series, but like the others, it just doesn’t have what it takes to be 4+. As with the others, it’s nicely balanced and textured in the mouth for the style, but the aroma just doesn’t offer much beyond the expected raw grapefruit-resin hop odor. Hard to be sure there’s any lemon zest added, it just smells like the usual grapefruity hops for the most part, but the power of suggestion is enough to make some sniffs reveal a bit of it. Oddly enough my favorite (by only a small margin) of the four in this series is the Citrus&Piney one, mostly because it’s NOT very piney/resinous at all (whereas the other three are). So yeah, decent, with only minor-ish quibbles...you can do a lot worse in this field. Just wished there was more depth and less rawness to these.
3.7Turbid straw pour with white head. Hops in the nose, more lemongrassy notes, florals in the taste.
3.4like a saison. very herbal more than citrus. more citrus flavour as it warms. lacy.
3.6Shared bomber poured to snifters displaying a hazed, orangey gold hue, with a modest layer of soft white head froth, and light spots of lacing. The nose presented some initial dankness, then lemon, orange, and greenery. Medium bodied, with appropriate carbonation, the taste was similar, with some citrusy, earthy, & rind-like bitterness, and fairly hidden alcohol.
3.3Poured from bottle no date which is surprising since I assume you want it fresh nice golden orange color with a nice white head. Aromas of grass lemon hay.amd floral notes. Taste is bitter lemon pith malt and herbal notes.
3.3Bomber shared by Chalumeaux. Thanks, TJ! Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, grass, orange peel. Flavor is caramel, molasses, orange peel. Grassy bitterness in the finish. The malt bill is too heavy.
3.6KRS 020416. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Flavour is lemon, grapefruit, hop, grass, fruit, spices. Nice beer.
Przyzwoite piwo.
3.6Bottle. Yellow hazy. Lemony grassy, hay malty floral nose. Very fruity, feels a bit sharp citrussy though, zesty. Ed full bodied, good bitters, well flavoured. A bit sharp, tart feeling ipa.

3.8Bue en bouteille de 50cl. Belle blonde, reflets ambrés. Nez fruité, citronné. Superbe équilibre au palais. Houblon, citron, fruits jaunes. pointe acide, finale amère. Pointe de caramel boisé.
3.7Flaske. Lysegul let diset øl med et fint skumhoved. Duften er Sorachi, dild, citrus og en kende græs. Smagen er igen domineret af dild, lige en tand for meget til at ringe. Men lækker øl.
3.79/IV/16 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: n/a (2016-332)
Hazy dark blond beer, solid creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: bit spicy, dry, herbal, bit grassy indeed, slightly fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, bit sourish, soft bitterness, resinous, some citrus, little sweet, sugary. Aftertaste: very bitter, resinous, almost medicinal bitterness, grassy, bit chemical, alcohol, sourish touch.

3.9650 ml. bottle sampled thanks to tderoeck! Hazy citrus golden, creamy white. Nose is papaya, mango, lightly boozy oily, air freshener. Taste & body is a touch too much powdery, lightly yeasty but otherwise solid mango, peach & papaya. Tad too yeasty & powdery but very nice tropical hops. Favorite one from the 3 I tried so far in this series.
3.5thnx to Tderoeck. Pours clear blonde. Smell is more malty than hoppy. Taste is sharp, lemon I do get, grassy not really. Perfumy, dry, lemongrass is very clear though. Bit sweet. OK .
