3.9 Draft @ ML Fontainas.

Very well made!
3.8 Menta, salvia, pomelo, pino. Cuerpo maltoso y amargor largo y equilibrado.
3.5 On keg at St Albans Beer Shop, St Albans, UK, Colour is hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy, orange, peach. Taste is peach, mango, citrus, pines, malts. Light sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium and carbonation average.
3.5 Bottled March 2017. Golden color. Melon and citrus in the herbal aroma. Firm herbal hopbitter flavor. Earthy yeasty notes with melon and lemon.
3.5 Hazy, golden colored, too much floaters and I haven’t emptied the bottle, medium- off white head. Aroma is of some malt, quite fruity, floral and come citrus hops, bit yeasty and bready. Taste is medium sweet malt, moderate+ fruity, floral and citrus hops, medium bitterness, dryish finish, bready and yeasty. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Way too yeasty/sedimenty and I was careful while pouring, first time I can say this for a Kernel. (bottle, from Kernel brewery, London)
3.6 Bottle from Ales by Mail - UK. Color: hazy golden blond beer with no carbonation and medium white foam. Smell: hoppy and grassy notes, small resin hint. Sweet malt. Taste: medium body with sweet malt backbone balanced with grassy hops and small resin hint. Good attenuation, highly drinkable. Aftertaste: sweet bitterness, wet sensation. Grassy and resin. OK.
3.8 from 50cl bottle, poured a slight hazy golden colour with a white head. nose of fresh grass hops, light malts, citrus, ligt bitter grapefruit, yeast, deep bitter hop taste, grass, tropical fruit sweetness. nice
3.5 Bottle. Passionfruit and citrus (mainly orange) notes. Lightly sweet, dry and medium bitter (grapefruit-like). Medium body, moderate carbonation. The beer is tasty and easy drinking.
2.7 £2.79 9/20 Taste is mixture of hops and exotic citrus fruits but these flavours aren’t overly strong and it’s easy to drink, quite well balanced. Smooth. Probably a bit too boozy for me. Appearance is cloudy, white with little bits of sediment floating about. Worth giving a go, but wouldn’t buy again. Second bottle - 11/20 enjoyed it a bit more, but doesn’t quite work. Passion fruit over powering.
3.8 Bottle from De Caginy. Unclear golden body with a medium white head. Fruity, hops, citrus, grapefruit, pine, grassy. Very hoppy finish.
3.8 Bottled on 16.03.16 so still a fresh bottle (label explicitly says "please drink fresh" - obviously recommendable with these ultra-fragrant modern IPAs) but at an ABV of 6.9%, I guess the different batches all came out differently in terms of alcohol strength. Very thick and frothy, hops-enhanced, cream white, dense and regular head over a hazy ’old gold’ coloured beer with slight peachy hue and a ’fog’ of yeast bits divided throughout, turning into a muddy, ochre pool of yeast and proteins with the deposit added. Pungent, dank aroma of all good things IPA associated with Simcoe: yellow grapefruit peel, pine resin, toasted onion, spruce, toasted bread, curry powder, some stale urine coming from the hops, roast tomato peel, melon somewhere, lime blossom, fried chicken. Crisp onset of green olive-like umami flavors paired with light, basic sourishness and just a tiny hint of peachy sweetishness, but the hop bitterness (without saltiness) becomes apparent from the start and only grows as the liquid travels over the tongue, bridging a straightforward but well-placed, lightly bready pale malt character, again only very vaguely sweetish and only very gently carbonated, and debouching into a very aromatic, bittering finish with lovely retronasal sensations of pine needle, dried grapefruit peel and toasted onion (or even roast garlic) on the one hand and a spicy, pungent, peppery, ’lively’ and long-lasting, yet in all fairly ’gentle’ bitterness on the other hand with only a thin trail of malty breadiness peeping through, the breadiness being enhanced by the yeast here. After swallowing, a lovely resinous and piney hoppiness coats the throat. A bit rough on the edges perhaps, could do with better ’looks’, but in terms of aroma and flavor, this is a more than exemplary IPA - but then, I had not expected anything less from this renowned London brewery, which has inspired so many others already in its relatively short span of existence. I do not know if it is necessary to spawn so incredibly many variants on the same theme as this brewery does, but it sure is a good exercise to get acquainted with the fragrant world of ’new’ hops in great detail. By itself: great IPA in most respects.
3.7 33 cl bottle. Bottled on 16.03.2016. BBE 16.07.2016. Pours golden color with a large white head. Sweet tropical fruits bursting on the nose, pine needles, fruity hops and some jelly beans. Flavor is fruity with orange and mango, only mildly hoppy, some bitterness, aftertaste is sweet and juicy. Solid juicy IPA. 4415
4.1 Bottle courtesy of Maakun at Mrk’s. Don’t take my Ganjaaa! Very hoppy nose. Light hazy pale golden. Thin greyish head. Marijuana hops, very fruity, exotic fruit, peach, light resin. Light sweet, light bitter. Medium body, oily feel, light carbonation.
3.9 Bottle shared. Murky golden with white head that leaves a little ring. Lime, lots of dank hops, marijuana, light sweat, sweet malts with some caramel and biscuits, a bit of yeast. Mostly massive hops though. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit syrupy feel. Another great Kernel IPA.

3.6 330 ml. split by 4 @ “Sir Goatie McGoat S&G Tasting”. Thank you Mathieu87 and/or PriorL! Bottled 16.03.16. Dark hazy orange with a creamy white head. Nose is dank yoghurt yeast & sugar. Taste is sweet milky yeast, candy, sugar, low dank hop. Yeasty body. Too much yeast in this example, really takes this one down for me, it’s a shame. Might be just this specific bottle.
4.0 Bottle, 330 ml from Luvians Bottle Shop, St. Andrews. Pours orange with nice white head. Citrus hoppy aroma. Fruit, malt, sweeetish, hint of pine, lasting bitter finish. Nice IPA.

3.8 Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Pours hazy golden yellow with 2-3 finger frothy white head. Aroma is quite mellow with passionfruit, orange, tinned apricots and some pine/woody notes. Taste is sweet of apricot and with bitter pine elements. Perfect carbonation too - just enough to move the beer around the mouth.
3.5 Always fresh as a daisy with a smooth, rounded sweetish malt. From the hops here I get pineapple and orange. Not overly strong in aroma as some other hops (mosaic, amarillo, citra) have been. Delicious.
3.8 Bottle from Red & White, Four Oaks. Hazy golden orange beer with medium head. Aroma of pineapple and mango. Taste is quite dry and astringent, mandarin rind, grapefruit and pine resin. A little oil in the body. Good stuff.
3.6 Keg at the hanging bat. Pours hazy orange, nose is pine, toffee, taste is dry, toffee, light fruit.
3.6 Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus and resin. Taste is light bitter. Clean finish
4.1 Very smooth citrus up front with a nice soft, balanced finish. All the IPAs by kernel seem to be great so I think it comes down to which hop profile you love. The mosaic IPA was a bit more floral doe me which I liked.
3.8 From tap. Unlear golden color with white head. Hoppy aroma, citrusy fruity, orange, light floral and grassy, light caramel malty. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
4.0 Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones, Banbury, Oxon. Gold with white head. The usual Kernel treatment of an excellent hop type, a crisp, fresh malt delivering clean flavours from the hop, resinous, slightly oily then tropical fruits. Lovely stuff.
4.0 330 ml, bottled 25.03.15 at 7.1% ABV, from Ales by Mail. Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, mango, some berries, candy. Tastes of grapefruit, pineapple, peach, mango, subtle pine, biscuit, honey, some candy. Medium, creamy, velvety mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes smooth, medium bitter, piney, zesty, citric, also sweet malty. Tasty! Clean, greatly balanced and very quaffable. The nose is a bit light, but the taste is a pleasant combination of juicy fruit notes and a very smooth malt backbone, with a perfect, smooth mouthfeel and finish. Another delicious IPA by The Kernel, but still not my favourite of them.
