Thiriez Etoile Du Nord

3.6 Bottle. Pours a hazy, dull golden color with a white head. The head leaves behind some thick lacing after a few sips. Herbal aromas, saison yeast, earthy -- smells lightly sweet. Taste is moderately to medium bitter with a light sweetness underneath. Grassy and herbal hops. Medium bodied; carbonation is on the soft side of average; dry, bitter finish.
3.3 330ml bottle from a shop in Xiamen. Pours hazy golden brown with a thin white head. Aroma of bread, hops and malt. Sweet finish with a hint of bitterness. Seems more like a pale ale than a saison.
3.3 Sample at Borefts 2016. Poured a clear straw colour with a round white head. The aroma is mineral, yeast, citrus. The flavour is acid citrus with a yeasty bitter acid mineral fruity hop palate and a bubbly mouthfeel. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
2.4 bottle at home for 2016 European secret Santa courtesy of V_Duquerroux, cheers Vincent! burnished gold with fluffy white head. quite grainy, dusty, slight diacetyl on nose. full bodied, very underattenuated for a siaon unfortunately, some bitterness but overwhelmed by caramel sweetness, could charitably call it a biere de garde. Not a big fan I’m afraid.
3.2 Bottle Aroma-bread, grass, Appearance-pale, hazy, white foam Taste-medium bitterness, medium sourness, light sweetness, Palate-light body, thin feel, lively, short finish Overall-very refreshing

3.1 Bue à la pression au Borefts Beer Festival 2016. J’avais d’autres choses à faire que de prendre des notes ;)
3.5 Bottle at home. Aroma is soft malt, peppery spicy yeast, grassy hops, floral garden notes, a tad herbal, hay. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Very nice balance between yeast and hops, grassy and green herbal floral with lots of peppery yeasty notes. Good one.
3.0 at BBF,quite clear palish yellow, light malty biscuity aroma, fruity malty flavor, just a hint of tropical fruits, , light to medium bitterness, Plain and easy.
3.3 At Borefts 2016. thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is medicinal malts, taste is rather bitter, dry, perfumed ( malts and medicinal ) thin body. high carbo.
3.8 Full tap sample at Borefts 2016 - Dag 1, merci. - Another missing link between hayish bière de garde, dry and zesty saison and UK bitter: light-bodied, greenish, forwarding both the earthy straw of barley husk and almost a wild hedgerow hop character I am very fond of. Classic, to be revisited bottled.
3.9 33cl bottle consumed at Brasserie Thiriez in Sept. 2014, bottled Dec. 2013: Coppery golden. Fluffy, pasty and creamy white foam exhibits stellar retention. Very bright and clean aromas of lemon, melon rind, lilac, gum, pecan skin and toasty malt. Soft and pillowy carbonation. Lusciously hoppy, with polished lemon atop a coarsely earthy punch of wood-root spices. Zingy, appetizing acids perpetually sparkle with fresh lemon as they deposit rich oily notes which are embraced by the refined and well-structured malt. Fluffy gum notes abound in the center before fading softly into the richly toasty, semi-lush haylike maltiness. Immaculate attenuation is beautifully augmented by the hop oils which produce a marmaladelike effect. Finishes dryly malty with assertive lemon zest bitterness capping things off. Another hopcentric beauty, with lovely malt character to boot. In other words, just your typical excellence from one of the best brewers in the world.
3.4 Keg @Borefts 2016. Pours golden white head. Nose is hoppy and fruity. Taste is caramel at first leading to a big bitter finish, not much saison.
3.2 This was one of the last beers I had at Borefts 2016. And what happens is that sometimes you only jot down the scores but forget to add anything about the whole tasting experience. This is what happened here.
3.2 @ BBF 2016 Clear yellow, White lastin, lacing foam head. Nice fesh aroma and taste, light bitterness, barley. (Bodegraven 201609)
3.0 Keg at borefts. Pours clear golden, nose is toffee, floral, caramel, taste is dry toffee, sweet, floral.
Geur: licht kruidig, licht hoppig, gistkarakter, brood, licht zwavel. Smaak: bitter, kruidig en wat moutzoetigheid. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: lang droog bitter. Spijtig van de zwavel. Nochtans in de brouwerij gekocht!
3.5 Bottle. Hazy gold with a white head. Subdued aroma of lemon, oranges, light dough, hay minerals.Light bodied, high carbonation. Dry with abrupt citrus and austere crackery yeast; bitter and very dry at the fast-arriving finish with coriander and sandy (!?) minerals. Interesting, almost withering.
3.7 Bottle at home, 9th July 16. Pours a fairly clear. Aroma is citrus, yeast. Taste is clean, floral, bitter, refreshing. Simple saison, nice
3.8 Bottle. Hazy golden, medium sized white head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Dry nose with flowers, green plants, light sulphur/farts. Flavour has honey, dry flowers, wood, green plants. Fine mouthfeel with filling carbonation. Some sweetness but dry and mild bitter overall. Floral finish. Good.
