Thisted Limfjords Porter

Thisted Limfjords Porter

3.8 Almost black with low head and lasting laces. Chocolate and some coffee aroma. Taste of coffee, chocolate, licorice and smoked meat. Some bitterness lingering.
3.8 Flaska från systembolaget. Svart öl med litet beiget skum. Trevlig öl med fina toner av saltlakrits, kaffe, choklad och aska. Torr härlig avslutning.
3.8 Pours dark with brown cremy top. Nose is coffee and smoked malt. Taste is black coffee, chocolate, caramel, hint of smoke, lot of english licorice in the finish. K
2.2 For mørk til drengerøve som os.
4.7 0,33 l bottle from Systembolaget Mall of Scandinavia. Very good Baltic Porter.
3.5 Black color, small brown head. Aromas of smoked meat, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste of smoked malt, chocolate, coffee and earth.
3.6 2 finger beige head. No retention. 1 finger lacing. Pitch black beer. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, leather, smoked meats and oats. Taste of dark chocolate, nutty coffee, roasted malts, oats and liquorice. Mouthfeel is lightly plump and round. Medium-low to medium bitterness. Medium-low carbonation. Quite drinkable. Overall: Solid Porter, doesn't feel like 7.9% ABV. In drinkability, yes but not overall feel. Very low on sweetness and high on ashiness which can aid the bitterness at times. Would like a bit more sweetness but this beer keeps it classical. Delicious.
Medium karboneret. Lang eftersmag.
5.0 Fantastisk. Det er og bliver den bedste porter. 👌🏻
4.5 Bottle lot says 23022015. So...February 23rd 2015? It pours a pitch black, a finger of tan foam with the pour. A slow shrinking head of foam. Lacing is outstanding. The smell is awesome. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, light hints of the licorice, which I expected from a +5 year old beer that includes that taste. I reckon that it was the first to go. Almost drinks like a dry export Stout except it does have some sweetness to it despite it being on the dry side. Lovely roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Very little if any licorice detected to my palate. Alcohol is a non factor. On the high end of medium bodied, carbonation seems to be on the gentler side. To me, this is exceptional. I will buy more!
5.0 Exceptional brew! Roasted malt aromas greet you at approach. The rich roasted malt continues on the palate. The high alcohol goes unnoticed beneath deep flavor. Well done.
4.1 Flot kulsort øl med kraftigt mørke brunt skum. I næsen kaffe, lakrids og chokolade. Ligedan er smagen med en fin bitterhed. Super god øl med god balance.
4.1 50cl bottle to share. Pitch black with a lovely thick chocolate colored foam. Notes of heavy roasted malts with chocolate, and a hint of liquorice and smoke in the aftertaste, lasting bitterness from roasted malts and hops. Light mouthfeel with slight carbonation. This is a really good beer.
3.9 Really dark with brown head. Taste of coffee and chocolate with a hint of smoke in the aftertaste. Really a nice porter
4.6 Tasty porter. I enjoy drinking 1 or 2 of these. Very heavy, so after 2 I’ll go for a lighter one
3.7 Aroma of intense smoke, cocoa and coffee Deep black colour with small lasting head Intense taste of dark chocolate and smoke Smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation Pleasant smoky taste!
3.7 Ganske fin porter. Jeg mangler lidt POW! Men helt sikkert pengene værd
3.8 [Tasting - Beder] Aroma: Mildly sweet, dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and liquorice Appearance: Pitch black with huge slowly disappearing light brown head Taste: Mildy sweet and moderately bitter, bitter chocolate and coffee, liquorice, slight smoke, tobacco and roasted malt Mouthfeel: Oily texture with mild carbonation Overall: Good beer for the price :)
3.9 Black with a creamy light brown head. Dark perfumy chocolate, solid roast cortado. Industrial harbour.
3.7 Extremely good Dark beer - very dominant lakrids and coffee taste. 1 is enough.
3.9 Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, half finger frothy beige head. Lasting head, nice lacing on the glass. Quite nice on the nose, rich and rasty with notes of coffee and cocoa. Thin to medium body, a bit surprising, expected it to be more fuller so to speak. Lively carbonation, average mouthfeel. Roasty bittersweet taste, more on the bitter side. Rich aroma, toasted malt, roasty, cocoa, coffee beans. Liquorice. Lingering latte aftertaste. Hints of vanilla. Oats. Strong roasty bitterness, charcoal, subtle woody notes. Mild smoke in the background. Long lasting finish, bitter and dry. Very good porter. Tasty.
3.9 Fyldig god Porter
4.2 330mL bottle, courtesy of fonefan (thanks Jan!), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals gentle black liquorice upfront, with moderate roast, and very subtle smokiness. Flavour is remarkably deep and elegant, with a great mix of black liquorice, gently peaty smoke, and moderate roast. Finishes quite dry, especially for the style, which is fine by me. The smoke and liquorice never intrudes too much, but never lets you forget they're there. Integrated and complex. Elegant, world-class Baltic Porter.
4.1 Bottle 0.33L. Pours black color with a finger of light brown, creamy head. Aroma of smoked ham, wood, rye and barley some coffee notes, than turns to bitter with dark chocolate coming out. Very rich and smooth. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Really good Baltic porter. Recomending it.
3.7 0,33 l. Bottle. Dark color with light brown head. Dark malt and coffee aroma. Chocolate, coffee and bitter taste.
3.8 Pivo u flaši. Popijeno u Gourmet Shopu & Tasting Roomu "Pötãman" u Premanturi. Fina aroma tamnog slada i čokolade. Tijelo je srednje gustoće. Okus je slijedi aromu i bogatog je okusa. Odličan Porter !
4.3 500ml bottle Restaurant Puk, Copenhagen in 2016. Really liked this, and was very surprised at the quality. Super dark ruby with a dense offwhite head. Aroma of big plums, raisins, dates, molasses and dark malt. Very full bodied. There’s sweetness to the beer, but it’s not overpowering or saccharine at all. More like fruit cake and Christmas pudding. Some roastier flavours in the very full linger.
5.0 Best beer ever. A legend turning 30 and still going strong
3.0 A great beer at it's price. Tastes just like a dark beer should taste. It has some sweet finishes in the after-taste, and it has a smooth transition from the bitter dark taste, to a bit sweeter, and finally a classical taste of the dark hops. Adequate!
4.3 24-22-2019; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Denemarken). The looks of the beer are very nice. The colour of the beer is a nice and dark ruby red, approaching brown. It is so dark, it almost looks black. On top of the beer there is a nice thick layer of frothy brown foam. Foam retention is quite good. A nice drape is left on top of the beer and some nice lacing is left on the glass. It looks perfect. The aroma of the beer is very nice too. It is a strong beer. The malts give some delicious aromas of caramel, toffee, chocolate. There is a delicious smokey aroma, with a roasty edge. It is more smokey than most Porters, I like it. It gives the beer character and kick. The hops aren't very strong, they give some herbal notes. A nice spicy yeast touch is there too. It is quite an intense beer, not everyone would like the smokiness. But I really do like it. The taste of the beer is also very nice. Sweet malts, bitter hops and bitter malt roast and a nice savoury smoke note. It is well balanced. Nothing wrong with it. The palate of the beer is nice. Smooth beer, medium body, high carbonation. It has a nice dry roast touch. The finish has loads of roast, bitter hops and nice smoke. The smokiness lingers on for some time, very pleasant. I like this beer a lot. Would buy one again whenever I'm in Denmark again.
