3.9 FINALLY a Mikkeller beer! Granted, I’ve hardly been trying my damnedest to track them down but I have gone this whole time without ever trying a Mikkeller. Happy then my first was one of the Beer Geek series / collab, the Limfjordsporter, which was worth queuing for a 100ml glass at Beaverex’18. Beautiful flavour and smoothness that makes this stronger beer an easy one to imbibe quickly. Lovely.
3.5 Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver Dark brown colour, near black, small tan head. It’s rather dry but with a decent body strength; strong character o roasted malt with traces of dark chocolate and liquorice, a bit more ashy in the finish. Good.
3.7 330ml bottle from Firefly Cambie. BB 2018-05-17. Pours an almost black with a tan head. Aroma is a bit fruity and smoky with roasted malt notes. Taste is similar. Quite good.
3.4 Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma is of pleasant licorice and coffee. Light to medium body (more porter-ish than the original). Light smokey flavor with a nice bitter aftertaste. In general a nice porter, but cannot be compared to the original Limfjordsporter from Thisted Bryghus! (Sorry Mikkeller)
3.8 KØLF 180518. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is roastedmnalt, coffee, licorice. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, smoked, licorice, caramel, cocoa. Very nice beer.
3.9 Aroma: Predominant coffee. Roasted, earthy notes. Pleasant liquorice, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate, cacao and tobacco ash aromas. Appearance: Pours dark brown with huge, frothy, beige head. Taste: Medium bitterness, long coffee aftertaste. Rather dry and acidic. Palate: Medium body, smooth. Overall: Very good porter, although not extraordinary. Even though it seems to tick all the boxes, it lacks something that would distinguish it from other well executed porters.
3.6 Bottle. Pours black with a dense beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, licorice and soy sauce. Flavor is sweet and malty with some roasted malt, coffee, caramel and some smoke. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.5 Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom's place. Deep brown with brown head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, roast, licorice, earthy. Sweet and bitterish flavor with notes of licorice, dark chocolate, coffee, roast, soy sauce, a bit salty. Slightly dry, medium-bodied.
4.0 Pours jet black with minimal beige head. Big, nice aroma of coffee straight away, also some chocolate. Taste is obvious coffee, some chocolate and malt. Medium carbonation. All in all a very nice porter.
3.9 Dark brown to black color with a two-finger high beige head. Medium to full body, light carbonation, traces of lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roast, licorice, dark fruits, liquor and light tobacco. Bitter taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, pralines, roasted malts, Turkish coffee, burnt flavors, wood and licorice. Nice, intense bitterness. Pretty interesting porter.
3.8 Bottle shared at a tasting. Brown black with a beige head. Roasted, dark chocolate, licorice, coffee aroma. Chocolate, molasses, coffee, vanilla flavors. Medium-bodied, oily. Very good.
3.8 0.33l bottle. Malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, licorice notes. Dark brown color, thick beige head. Malty taste, coffee, light chocolate notes, alcohol, licorice, light sweet and sour, light to medium bitter. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation and malty bitter finish with light alcohol notes. Good.
3.8 Pivo u flaši. Tamna boja sa gustom krem-smeđom pjenom. Aroma prženog slada i malko slatka. Okus je dosta "zgoren" a to znaći i dosta gorkast , slatkoće je vrlo malo. Tijelo je srednje gustoće. Sve skupa moram priznati (bez obzira što ne volim tu vrstu gorčine) da je pivo odlično..
3.7 Aroma: liquorice, very roasted dark malts, caramel. Appearance: deep amber/brown color and creamy head. Taste: very toasted and roasted, burnt malt, liquorice, caramel. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation. Overall: very good Baltic porter.
3.6 Så og si svart farge med masse beige skum. Lukter av kakao, kaffe. medium fylde. kaffe og sjokolade i smak. noe bitter og salt avslutning.
3.5 App: dark brown, almost no head. Aroma: mainly bitter chocolate, some coffee, dark malts and laqruice. Taste: again bitter chocolate, coffee, more laqruice, some sourness. Palate: low carbonation, medium body, rather dry. Overall: Nice beer, but rather dry, I personally prefer something sweeter,

4.9 0.3 bottle. Pours dark brown color with medium brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, malts, caramel, wood. Flavor is medium sweet, medium chocolate bitter. Finish is long and chocolate bittersweet. Full body, average carbonation.
4.3 0.33l bottle. Pours in black colour with small brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee. Medium bitter, medium sweet. Full bodied, thick feel, long lasting chocolate bitter aftertaste.
4.3 Donkerbruin met compacte en stabiele licht-mokkakleurige schuimkraag. Volop koffie, mokka, chocolade, verder roast, beetje leer, tabak, licht rokerig. Mooie mild-bittere koffie-afdronk. Behoorlijke body. Blijft lang hangen. Mooie porter.
3.7 Aroma of toasted malt, coffee, licorice, grains and chocolate. Taste is smoked wood, malts, coffee, and a little sourness. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
4.4 Great 7,7% porter with licorice that comes with nice salty licorice (salmiakki) way through. Tight bitterness and fully flavours.
4.0 Butelka. Aromat dość nikły, trochę kawy zbożowej, suszonych owoców i słodka nuta w typie wanilii. W smaku kawowo, z dość wyraźną palonością. Gładkie, wręcz kremowe z wytrawnym finiszem w stylu gorzkiej czekolady.
4.4 Tasted 2018-01-08. Pours black with light brown head. Aroma of pumpernickel, raw liquorice, coffee and hops. Flavour is heavily loaded with raw liquorice. Moderately bitter finish - not a hop like bitternes, more a coffee bitternes. Great potential for cellaring, I think.
2.7 W aromacie jeszcze ok, mocno daje wanilią o dziwo. Ale tak to typowo. Po przelaniu widoczny brak piany. W smaku bardzo wodniste i puste. Trochę czeko i wanilii, ale to już tak na upartego. Bezpłciowy finisz. Nie wiem skąd tak dobre oceny.
3.8 33cl Bottle @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain. Black colour with a medium size tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, licorice. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, sweet, coffee, licorice, vanilla. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.9 Bottled 330ml. -at Svijet Piva Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, licorice and chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, dried fruits and wood with touch of vanilla. Dry roasty finish. Well done.
3.9 W nosie średnio intensywnie, kawa, ciemne owoce, brązowy cukier. Barwa ciemno brunatna, pojawiają się pojedyncze, rubinowe refleksy, ładna beżowa, gęsta piana. W smaku stosunkowo wytrawne, kawa, czekolada, kakao, paloność, w tle lukrecja. Goryczka średnia, palona. Dobre. Butelka do 13.04.2018
4.1 Bottle, Firefly. Dark brown, thin bubbly head. Rich nose, dark sugar richness, fruitcake, and a fair of coffee. Rich, sweet, nice fruity depths, just a touch of coffee towards the finish. Lots of yum.
