2.9 Bottle. Clear amber in colour, with a slight, white head. Sweet and slightly spicy, with a moderately bitter finish. So so.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of beige head. Aroma of malts and some fruit. Taste is pretty basic, malts and some sweetness.
3.6 Rated from notes taken 6 Aug 2011 -- I really think this is a very nice red ale. Great flavor with just a hint of roastiness.
3.1 Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Light toasted malts, hints of earthy sweetness, mild floral hops, and a quick clean finish. Not bad.
3.4 (bottle) Drank with my Irish buddy, Con, during the World Cup, who agreed this was well done. Clear copper complexion with this head. Very smooth and sessionable with mildly roasted malt and authentic pub flavor.
2.7 Middle of the road. Aroma is toasty and grainy. Flavor is malt-forward. Very smooth with an amber lager-like taste. Light bodied. Not bad but not great either.
3.0 Sample at Malmö beer- and whiskey festival. Dominated by caramel, but there’s just something odd about the beer i didn’t like and couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe the bottle was slightly old, didn’t have an opportunity to check.
3.1 How: Bottle. Where: NK Bar, Stockholm. Appearance: Amber colour with a large off-white head. Aroma: Sweet malt, caramel, hops. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Caramel, malt.
3.4 Golden color out of the bottle with a foamy white head. Grainy nose. Some caramel sweetness, grainy malts and some dark toast. OK for a red.
3.0 From a bottle poured an amber color with a good amount of head. Malty hoppy flavor with a quick fiinish.
3.4 I really wish I could give this beer higher marks. I have tremendous respect for Thomas Creek and the work they do. Sadly, their flagship isn’t as good as some of their other beers. It’s hard to say that considering how perfect the technical factors are. The red color, tight head, carbonation, mouthfeel, and lacing are all faultless. Unfortunately, the flavor and aroma are on the weak side. River Falls does too many things right to write it off, but don’t expect to be amazed.
2.9 Pours light translucent amber with medium head and minimal lacing. Aromas are sweet citrus. Taste of roasted malts and bitter grapefruit-like flavors. The beer’s ok, neither good nor bad. Wouldn’t buy again.
2.4 Very thin aroma. Some light caramel. Similar flavour with some weak citrus hop. Dissapointing.
4.5 Excellent red. Full of balanced flavor. Great beer to drink at a bar. Well suited for beer drinkers of all varieties.
4.0 Poured a nice amber colour. Thin head. Malty nose. Wonderful mouthfeel with a strong malt back bone.
3.1 Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy and creamy off-white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, pear esters and light earthy hops. Flavor is malt forward and dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.1 Very light amber appearance. Medium light body. Flavors of sweet molases, hops, and honey. Hops right up front, w/ decent carbonation. Sweet floral/berry flavor which I don’t care for.
3.3 Pours amber with plenty of fluffy off-white head. Aroma is sweet with light fruit notes. Taste is also light and fluffy. Solid beer but not a whole lot of complexity.
3.2 355 ml bottle. Amber with coarse orange head. Aroma of malt and biscuit and not much else. Taste also very malty, adds a bit of breadyness.
3.0 Bottle into glass...clear red pour with white head...malty brown gurar aroma and taste..just ok
2.6 Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with minimal head, lots of carbonation. The aroma is malty, nutty, some funky sweetness. The taste is caramel, nuts, a weird finish. Not good, in my opinion.
2.7 Decent taste...even mix of hops and malt...nothing special of taste though...average..
2.7 A bit meh. Drinkable but forgettable. Nice when cold on a friday "Beer" but I plan on sticking to Up The Creek by this brewery.
2.9 kind of mellow with a soft body and carbonation this brew has flavors of hay and broomstraw with some sweetness and just a bit of grapefruit and pine hop. lightly roasted with a lingering light bitterness. malt syrup aroma.
2.9 Bottle. Deep amber color, medium white head. Aroma of caramel and tiffee. Taste is lightly toasted caramel.
3.1 Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of lemons, straw, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leadinf to a dry finish.
2.3 Amber with a medium quickly fading off-white head. Sour aroma with caramel, grains and toasted malt. Taste of caramel, toffee and card board with a prickly and astringent finish.
3.4 Not bad, quite red in style for its taste, nice aftertaste and fine features. VEry malty but not so sweet.
2.8 Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/15/13 Aroma: The nose has sweet malts: toffee, caramel, and toast, with some orange and grassy hop notes Appearance: This one pours a clear reddish-orange color with a small head and some drippy lace Flavor: The taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter, similar to the nose, but a bit lacking/off Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a lively carbonation, a sticky feel, and an odd finish Overall Impression: This beer is decent, but with quite a few off/odd notes to it, it just feels a little flawed. The makings of a decent beer are there, but it doesn’t really come together.
2.8 From bottle. Pours red/amber in color with quick settling head. Aroma was roasted malt and slight fruit malt. Taste was a thin amber with a decent finish.
