3.8 Bottle. Nose is milk chocolate, hint of vanilla, dark chocolate, hint of fruit and orange. Taste is chocolate, leading to vanilla, light latte, touch of black coffee, dry slightly woody finish.
3.6 A nice chocolate porter. The taste is sweet with the cocoa clearly in there. The beer has a long aftertaste. Has the black look it’s supposed to have. There is not that much head though.
3.7 bottle from hopt settles pitch dark, pours dark brown. light brown head. Aroma is dominated by aromatic dark chocolate, 60% or so, then some roasted malts, but not imp. stoutish roasted malts, more like bock roasted malts. the dark chocolate dominates. Aroma reminds me a bit of bruery's chocolate rain, but not as extreme though. flavor is tons of dark chocolate, and a decent base of dry roasted malts. starts and end with a strong cocoa flavor.
4.8 Can you describe perfection. I can't you just have to try it. The best mocha malt flavor full of cocoa beans you can get your hands on. It is out of this world. The best porter ever was and ever will be. Hats down to Thornbridge Brewery!
4.5 Mocha. Cocoa and coffee aroma. Full bodied. Creamy. Some brown sugar sweetness. Well balanced. Tasty stuff. Enjoyable!
3.6 Copenhagen 23/9 2021. 40 cl from tap on Frb. Ølbar. Pours opaque dark brown with a small off-white, yellow-ish head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet slightly candy-like odor. Chocolate, cocoa, toffee and caramel. Hints of brown sugar. Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is sweet caramel. A fine chocolate bomb. Like visiting the candy store.

A truly wonderful, award winning Chocolate beer. Initially brewed in collaboration with the girls at Cocoa, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield to celebrate their 10th anniversary. EDIT 9/10-22 IAB 4.6 - 4.7
3.7 How: bottle. A bit chilled. BB: 05/01/2022 Head: one finger, off white. Colour: black. Aroma: smooth milk chocolate with light milk coffee notes. Taste: thin to medium body, soft carbonation, milk chocolate, coffee. Smooth. Milk chocolate and coffee in medium long aftertaste.
4.0 Not only does this have a lovely aroma and looks (despite that head) and leaves some glorious lacing the glass, but it has that level of sweetness that I can’t resist supping away at, naggingly.
3.8 Bottle from the brewery. Strong chocolate, sweet, really rich, gluttonous dessert beer.
3.9 From Morrisons Dover
3.6 Old rating from 2016 - 330ml bottle, pours dark brown with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla & malt. Medium to full body. Mild bitter finish
3.9 Beautiful nougat-colored and lasting foam. The aroma is amazingly delicious of cocoa and coffee. The taste is full-bodied and good with many good details such as cocoa, dark bitter chocolate, hard-pressed malt, espresso and dark caramel. It is cocoa which is the predominant taste in this porter, but the other flavor nuances are not completely hidden from the road and contribute to good balance in a porter that could otherwise quickly have become too sweet in its entirety. Lovely and very full-bodied.
4.3 0.33l bottle. Dark brown color with browny/beige head. Aroma of chocolate milk, vannila, malt, caramel, nuts, coffee and some dark fruits. Taste is sweet and little bitter. Superb balance of aromas and sweet chocolate aftertaste.
4.2 Thornbridge Cocoa Wonderland 6.8%. Blackish ruby, chocolate malt aroma, full bodied, dark malt, roasted coffee, smooth milk chocolate, vanilla, spices, slightly bitter finish. Gorgeous Chocolate Porter from Bakewell, Derbyshire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
4.2 Many thanks to Simontomlinson. Great smooth chocolate beginning. Liquid chocolate, milk chocolate with hints of Espresso. Deep caramelly, fantastic balanced. Great stuff.
3.6 Aroma; cacao, chocolate milk, vanilla, lactic stuff, malts. Look; beige dense stable head, on pit black body. Taste; chocolate milk, sweet mocca, cacao, vanilla, malts, and finishes flourish and pleasantly. Feel; ok floury body and ok co². Overall; nice, easy, women friendly. [bottle , alko fi, T@apartment o' PivotekaH7. Greetings to everybody]
3.8 Appearance: Jet black, long lasting two finger head. Aroma: Milk chocolate, cocoa, black coffee and maybe a little hazelnut Pallet: Creamy with low carbonation Taste: Milk chocolate, black coffee, bitter finish very nice.
3.6 Dark brown with a frothy, tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate and vanilla promises a dessert beer. Taste follows for the most part—sweet up front with a mild, roasted bitterness on the backside. Mild cherry pop at the end. Medium-bodied, smooth. Not a huge amount of depth, but quite pleasant enough even with the lactose and cocoa additives in firm control of things.
3.4 330ml bottle – Pours a dark brown colour with a large mostly lasting foamy beige head. Aroma is chocolatey, roasted malts and cocoa. A moderate to light sweet chocolatey taste, roasted sweet malts and milk chocolate flavours with a bitter chocolate finish.
3.7 Backlog January 2019. Clear dark brown, almost black body under a thin beige head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate and cocoa. Taste is sweet and mostly chocolate and sweet malt with a mild cocoa flavor in the background. Fine body and nice aftertaste. Not bad at all.
0.0 Porter czekoladowy
3.7 Pours quite watery, little head, dark ruby black colors Fruity deep dark aroma, coffee notes. Chocolate and vanilla. Liquoricy taste, quite sweet, very unique although really a subtle beer not a big-tasting blaster. Lightly bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation and very soft, smooth mouth feel. Nice understated easy-drinking Wintermas/Xmas drink.
3.9 Big long lasting head. Boozy, fruity, vanilla, Black Forest gateau aroma. Mild carbonation, nice frothy mouthfeel. Cherries, licorice, caramel, very dark chocolate, vanilla, malty. Wonderful.
Robe noire opaque, mousse café, faible carbonatation. Nez chocolat pain grillé. Bouche chocolat, café, notes grillées, même brûlées, et bière pas trop sucrée, texture acqueuse. C'est bon, parfumé, à apprécier en petite quantité quand même car doit vite devenir écoeurante. (M)
