3.0 Smell- weak, hops, faint malt maybe or faint fruits, but yes mainly hops. Foam-thin, hops, medium to high bitterness in hops. Head is small, white color. Appearance- can, quite simple in design. Clear amber, no carbonation. From- snifter Taste - Hops, pine, bit fruity, bitterness is medium strong, but I would say pleasant even for me, who do not like too bitter beers. Some malt in the mix and faint fruit, grapefruit notes. Alcohol is well mixed in. Not bad.
3.8 Clear yellow color with foamy white head. Aroma of strong pineapple, tropical fruits. Taste has burst of tropical flavors combined with pleasant hops. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice and tropical
3.6 Copenhagen 1/10 2020. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Blue can with Thornbridges coat of arms. Simple. Pours unclear golden yellow with a medium sized white head. Stable. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is fairly intense with a strong sweet fruity odor laced in a bit of alcohol. Lighter citric notes. Peach and plum. Citrus and grape fruit. Slightly sharp. Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture. Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric, slightly rough bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable bitter undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Bitter, dry finish. Solid, fermented sweet yet bitter and dry. No complaints.
3.7 Can. 7.4%. Best before 13.07.21. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow, with a white head. Good lacing. Citrusy, somewhat tropical fruit, aroma. Veggie/grassy note, and a light rubber/plastic overtone. Light zesty note as it warms. Flavour is citrusy, with tropical fruit as well, but a bit heavier on the tropical side. Mango? Light fat hop note, bordering being grainy. Mild to medium bitter finish. Light dusty, remote zesty notes. Mild alcohol burn. Lingering grassy, apple note. Overall good. 23.09.20.
3.7 Bottle from Geers. Best before: 16/4/20; just a couple of months old. Pours clear golden with a thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of dank mandarin, pineapple, apricot, pomelo, spring onion, honey. Taste has sweetish mandarin, pomelo & mango, bitter grapefruit peel, some pine & spruce with a dank edge; faintly zesty sour. Dry, floral hoppy finish, lots of dank citrus fruit lingering next to bitter pine & grapefruit. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not overly malty for a DIPA, just plain strong hop bitterness.
3.8 Liquide doré avec mousse importante. Nez fruits tropicaux. Superbe !!!
3.3 Pours golden with a small head, aroma of fruits, floral notes, flavor is bitter with orange, juicy, medium bodied
3.0 A seasonal autumn ale Bursting with grapefruit lemon and pineapples A golden colour Bottle direct from Thornbridge brewery
4.0 I have found this bottle, at the Wittisch Getränk shop, at Olten, the last year. Opening this bottle during my free days due to the corona infection. The body is yellow, grey and a bit troubled with an average carbonation, thin and white foam. In my point of view, it is a tasteful ipa, for an imperial, this one is well balanced with notes of dry malt, aromatic hop or hops giving a delightful side of bitterness, citrus, tropical notes with a generous side of lychee, alcool well integrated in the beverage, fruity, a bit salty at some moment.
Bravo Thornbridge !!!
2.3 Typische IPA, wel vrij sterke smaak.
3.6 Received this in a selection last Christmas. Very hoppy and fruity. Just the right level of malt. Good fortified IPA.
3.2 0,33 bottle. Hazy, "New England - IPA color", light enough. The foam isn't very durable, but nice white. It has a basic bitter hops on its smell and the yeast is quite palpable. It is more palatable than the other IPA's so far, and because of the more alcohol there is a lot of malt. The bitter, fruity flavors are subdued compared to the category. A strong beer can be brought together on a malt basis, but to have an imperial IPA, more hops would have been needed. I guess .. Not bad beer, of course. In fact, it is exciting to feel aftertaste. Just a little bodyless, hop-less. Szerintem.. Persze nem rossz sör. Sőt, izgalmas utóízeket érezni. Csak picit testetlen, komlótlan.
3.7 Can from Tesco’s Extra Streatham. Clear golden with a thin white head. Nose is grapefruit peel, tangerine, syrup, pine, astringent hop acid, plant stems, green leafy hop. Taste is citrus peel, grapefruit peel, acidic fruity hop, fragrant fruity flowers, pine, slight earthy, syrupy, orange peel, tangerine fruit.
3.4 Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow with frothy white head. The aroma has notes of herbs, citrus (grapefruit, lemon), earthy. The flavor is mild sweet and bitter with notes of citrus (grapefruit,), lots of alcohol, malt, earthy, some herbs, lingering bitterness. Full-bodied.
3.9 Pours gold, thin head. Big blast of orange and zest, flavour is bitter orange marmalade and the finish is resiny and oily. Lovely beer.
3.7 Bottle from Unorthodox Pours light gold with white head. Some pineapple on a nose. Tastes medium bitter, pineapple, zesty, citruses. Good.
3.8 A 330ml bottle, a outstanding and very well made Imperial IPA with the high ABV well hidden.
3.2 Color amarillo, escasamente turbia, casi transparente.
4.1 Pours light straw with an off white head. Aroma of dank tropical mango and apricot, lime, pineapple and pine. Soft, medium mouthfeel. Taste is light biscuit and caramel, dank mango, pineapple, grapefruit peel, lime and pine resin. Medium to high bitterness on the finish. Satisfying beer!
4.0 Grapefruit, zesty, tart, moderately carbonated. Got a can from tesco, very zesty smell, initial taste is zest, strong alcohol on the back of the mouth, thick resinous feel (in a very good way) with quite a lot of fizz. The grapefruit is very overpowering in this particular drink which is a nice change of pace but I couldn't drink more than 2 as its too tarty for me Fantastic drink though from thornbridge one of the most respected and highly rated brewery's out there imo
3.5 Bottle. Clear gold. Hop oil, a little bit of skunk in the nose, bitter, some resin and skunk (in a good way) in the mouth. Full body, bitter and slightly dry finish.
3.8 Draft @ Thornbridge, Den Bosch. Cloudy straw, creamy white head. Dry citrus hoppy, pine, soap, light malty base, medium-high bitter. Medium body, medium-high carbonation.
3.3 Bottle, medium stable creamy bubbly head, clear quite deep yellow color, aroma of grapefruit, soap and some onion, flavor of citrus, onion and a strong empathic grapefruit bitterness. Nice and drinkable.
3.4 Bottle. Hazy golden with a decent head. Piney resinous and grassy aroma. Moderately sweet with very high bitterness, grassy, herbal, resinous, onion, slightly toasted. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
3.7 On tap @ Thornbridge Den Bosch. Hazy golden with a white head. Sweet hoppy aroma with orange and mandarin. Semi-bitter taste with a nice long bitter finish. Nice one.
3.6 19-Oct-13 (500-ml bottle, Bottled 20-May-13: Sample bottle from the distributor) This beer pours a very hazy, golden body with an inch of fluffy, white head that settles to a bubbly sheet. The nose offers sweet, grainy malt and a wonderfully aromatic hop character that smells like sweet tea with orange wedges. The beer is similarly flavorful and balanced; the malt is light-medium sweet, grainy, and very lightly caramely while the hops are very citrusy, with flavors of orange, pink grapefruit, tea, and dry grass. The bitterness is lighter compared to what you get from American-brewed IIPAs, but I think it's wonderfully balanced throughout, with just plenty of lingering bitterness to keep the palate refreshed till the next sip. It's medium-plus in weight, medium in carbonation, and pleasantly dry for solid drinkability. By BJCP standards, the alcohol level falls just short of Imperial IPA, and by American standards, it comes across as a single IPA, but to me, it's just a great IPA with excellent balance and delicious flavor.
