Thornbridge Kipling

Thornbridge Kipling

Cask & Cold Filtered Bottle; Regular.

Typical of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine, this wonderful South Pacific Ale has a great grassy nose with kiwi fruits in abundance. The wonderful fruity mouth gives way to a great bitter finish. 5.2%

2.2 Aroma : Lightly toasted caramel/biscuity malt, soft tropical fruit with a touch of orange & lemon and grassy hop note. Taste : As aroma, but all very light and watery. Slight acidic bite in the finish but overall a bit dull!
4.0 Giallo dorato schiuma sottile.
3.6 Bottle. Source not recalled. Poured pale gold with a large fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, flowers, light tropical fruit and a hint of peppery spice. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Nice fruity bitterness to finish. Pretty decent.
2.5 A nice pale ale with a fresh touch. Moderately hopped, not very interesting.
3.4 0,25l draft pour. Pours yellow with white head. Fruity and grassy hops, medium bitterness.
3.6 Restrained aroma in a rich golden pour. Hop forward balance with a boozy body and clean bitter finish. A brew that grows on you (quite quickly too).
3.5 This is a backlog rating from 2011 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time. Words to describe this beer are pale malts, grass, fruit, decent.
3.1 Clear yellowish golden. White head, two fingers, decent retention. Soft carbonation visually. Watery texture. Aroma is cat piss, tart tropical fruits and citrics. Taste is gooseberry, tart tropical fruits, citrics, wet grass, pine hints. Soft bitterness at the end. Clean and fresh.
3.6 330ml bottle at home. Pours lightly hazed pale golden with a loose white head. Aroma: malty, grainy, lemon citrus, grapefruit, grassy. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, dry, floral, lemongrass, gooseberries, white grapes, citrus jelly, grassy hop, pine needles. Dry finish. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Lovely.
3.2 Cask at Heaton Hops. Malty and grainy aroma with some fruit. Hazy golden color with medium sized creamy white head. Floral and fruity taste, grapes, bit grassy. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation, creamy.
2.8 Appearance- Clear golden colour with super weak white foam that fizzes out like soda. Aromas- Sweet and sharp of grapefruits, pine and resin with notes of bitter orange and light egginess. Palate- Medium body with smooth texture but rather high carbonation leaving bubbly finish on the tongue. Taste- Sweet of peppers, bitter herbal hops that carry earthy, pine and citrusy characteristics. Overall- Drinkable but not for me, over carbonated, no foam, and tastes fairly unexciting and dull.
3.8 Smooth and clear. Clean, slightly hoppy, slightly floral; very drinkable.
3.6 18.04.2015, tap @ UNA: Small shortlasting head, very light color. Aroma is fresh foresty, leafs, hay, fresh hops, citrus peel, grass, bark, pine needles. Taste is slightly dry grassy, weeds, leafs, dried grain, hay, bark, hops, paper, pine needles, lawn. Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry papery mouthfeel. Nice.
3.7 Jaune paille, limpide, mousse faible, bulles faibles.
3.5 #2169 Bottle. Lightly hazy, light orange, medium white head. Aroma of lemons, tangerines, jelly. Taste is smooth, lightly bitter, rich. Lemons, tangerines, lemongrass, citrusy bonbons and jelly. Medium body and carbonation. Great citrusy APA.
3.6 Bottle 0.33l. Almost clear, straw colored. AROMA- lemon, white grapefruit, lemongrass, lemon jelly, gooseberry, malt. FLAVOR- neutral, bitter, citrusy, gooseberry, jelly, grassy, malt on background. Medium bodied. Very good.
3.5 Bottle. Straw-golden color, white foam. Aroma: floral, elderberry blossoms, citrus, bird cherry, gooseberries. Good taste, gooseberries, white grapes, slightly citrus, soft bitterness, passion fruit, juicy.
2.9 On tap at Galbraith's. Pours pale gold. Grass, pissy, passionfruit, lots of hay and a dry herbal finish. Medium body. Not for me.
4.1 Exclusively Nelson Sauvin hops, very tropical fruity flavour at the start, balanced by decent bitterness at the end. Surprisingly light for a 5.2% abv
3.0 Light yellow, almost clear beer with small head. Aroma has citrus, grass and some other exotic fruits. Taste has citrus and bitter grass at the end. Even bit heavy with grass and bitterness. Medium body.
3.4 6-4-5-3-16, bottle 0.5ml
3.6 Zaujimave pivko v craft beer. Prijemna aromaticka vona. Farba taka vinova. Chut dobra ani horka ani sladka.
3.2 0.1 draught. Clear yellow color with white head. Aroma of grass, hops, malt, grapefruit and some tropical fruits. Taste is bitter and little sweet.
2.6 0.1L on tap at Fakin Bar, Zagreb. Clear yellow color without head. Feels like some light spicy mineral water. Light hops, fast fading light bitter and floral aftertaste. Not worth drinking twice.
3.6 500 ml. no bottling date. Pale topaz with a half inch of meringue-like foam. Subdued nose of lemon grass, toast, mineral water and a bit of white pepper. Flavor is lemon-lime, spicy grass, honey, wheat cracker and mineral water. Some peach and apple notes show up later in the finish to provide a bit more character. Later leans toward mint and eucalyptus. Light-medium mouthfeel with a medium-high fizz that borders on too much. Easy drinking balance.
3.5 On tap at Fakin craft bar Thornbridge Tap Takover. Shared with lovely Anja, Višnja 666 and Die Stoutbraut! Clear pale golden, small off-white head. Moderately hopped, tropical aromas, spicy. Light bitter, also malty. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish. Very nice.
3.3 Optisch hell, keine Carbo, staubig, also mit Schwebstoffen, dadurch trüb. Beim zweiten Schluck allerdings deutlich sanfter. Summa Summarum: Interessantes Ding, hohe Drinkability, regt zur Diskussion an.
3.8 Completely opaque. Dirty straw colour with a bubbly head. Aroma is lemongrass and lime. Taste is lime, mango, whit wine, and papaya.
Droge afdronk. M: Doordrinker met medium carbonatie.
