3.1 Bottle, ČP. Pale golden body, almost no head, but what little there is is white. Tart apple-pear, citric aroma. Lean, lean sweetish taste, citric, vitamins, lightly soapy. Okay, better than it seems.
3.2 Straw golden color. Excellent foam. Nose. Fresh, Malt, Herb, Hay, Citrus. Taste. Malty, clean, with hints of lime and hops in herbalism. Pleasant long bitterness in the aftertaste. Very cool!
1.0 Basic lager
3.2 Pours a clear straw with a frothy white head, and a mild lemony aroma with a hint of cut grass. Has a crisp and zesty mouthfeel with a light malt flavour, a touch of fruit sweetness and a hint of spice/herb and a mildly bitter finish
1.8 From a can poured a crystal clear gold with, after a vigorous pour, 5mm of bright white open foam that diminished quickly to a thin blotchy cap that laced poorly. Carbonation high, lively and coarse to very coarse. Aroma is slightly malty. Taste is moderately malty, slightly sweet and with hints of acidity. Light body bordering on watery. Smooth and crisp with a flat mouthfeel and a short finish. East drinking. Not a good example of the style, more like a slightly malty lager.
3.1 Clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of malts. Taste is of malts and hay with a hint of black pepper. Some slight sourness and a note of boiled vegetables. Rather flat, with a dry finish. OK, but there a lot of much better beers which are more true to the style.
2.3 I used to travel to Munich a lot. This claims to be a Bavarian helles lager and, while it is certainly that style, it misses the mark for me. Too flat and too sour.
4.4 Ba baa ba baa ba baa ba baa ba ba ba, ba baa ba baa ba baa ba baaaaaaaa BAP! What a lovely lovely lovely lovely beer.
3.4 Can, BBE in 2 months. Light straw colour with minimal head. Aroma of malt, pepper, cereal and lemon. Moderate carbonation and a creamy malt which I had not yet experienced before in a lager and is excellent. Taste follows aroma with a slight bitterness in the finish. Very good.
3.1 Bavarian style helles beer delivered by Beer52 during Covid19 lockdown. Crisp lager taste.
4.2 Slightly pale but nice
3.2 33cl can from Beer52. Medium white head. Hazy golden pour. Easy drinking.
3.4 Very pale gold, decent snow white head. Aroma, faintly grassy, lemon. Taste: lemon and lime, but not citrussy, some sweetness, soft malt, apple, grape. OK Helles lagers - refreshing on a summer day.
3.5 World Beers Collection
3.0 Can. Clear, golden pour with small white head. Very clean and refreshing. A touch of maltiness gives it real character. Not usually a fan of helles but this has enough depth to make it worthwhile.
3.4 Light coloured and aromatic. Good balance between the hops and malt, I was worried it will taste more of an ale then a lager, but i was wrong. Very pleasant beer.
1.7 4/20 watery lager with not much taste, not disgusting but nothing to recommend about it
3.4 Light gold, crisp fresh taste
3.9 Can from a mixed case. Bright and bubbly on pour, clear gold in colour with a thin white froth. Taste is clean and crisp, with some sweet, background bitterness.
2.5 Light lemon colour with white head, typical lager profile with some minor spice on the nose. A crisp lager that’s easy to drink, not a fan of the herbal/spice thing through the palate
2.0 Feb 2020. 330ml dark bottle part of a BeerHawk £1 a beer deal. These deals are quite random. The previous pack was so good I ordered another, but this one has been fairly ordinary - rather a lot of under 5% beers which I've already had. This is a new rate for me, but is it a 4.2% lager, so not exactly otter's tears. Meh. It's drinkable, but it does taste like what it is. Sigh. Can't believe this is actually a Thornbridge beer.
2.1 Beer Cartel Ratebeer Supertasters can (17-Jan-20) Lemon cider light grass aroma. Crytal clear yellow colour, no head and poor lacing. Lemon herbal chemical flavour. Lemongrass finish and herbal stale aftertaste.
2.3 Super Tasters - Hop herbal cider malt aroma. Pale yellow colour fair head and lacing. Malt spice herbal hop flavour. Fizzy palate.
2.3 Nice and simple Bavarian style Helles. Little bit of malt and citrus add to making it a refreshing choice
3.2 Canned, 330ml from Asda in Milton Keynes, Bucks. Gold with white head. There is a malty sweetness to this, some cereals. Lightly roasted malt with a bready hint, some lemon / lime hop hints. It's all somewhat unremarkable but drinkable. It's oaky.
2.8 Beer Number From Brewery: 7 Container Type: Can - 330ml Date Purchased: 12 December 2019 Date Drank: 4 January 2020 Purchase Location: Beer Cartel Hops: Hallertauer Malt: Pale, Carapils, Wheat Aroma: Earthy Appearance: Light straw colour, very clear Flavour: Mild, musky Mouthfeel: Thin, clean, crisp Comments: This beer came as part of the December RateBeer Supertaster pack and it is the first international beer in any of the packs.
3.1 On tap at The Colmore, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Nose is full of herbal and grassy notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with grassy notes and biscuity morning. Crisp and bright. It’s alright.
3.9 Big shout out to Beer Cartel and Ratebeer for this one. Just glad to see a lager arrive I must admit. Münchner helles-lagerbier out of Derbyshire, hey!? Hope it's a good'n!!! Into a tulip, chilled, it goes. Pale straw and way too bright with a lot of life fueling a half inch cloud of white atop that lasts the length. Once the DMS subsides there is a lovely, earthy spiciness and herbal roughage of Hallertauer hops balanced by hay-bale and barnyard malts on the nose. On the palate it is spicy, clean, well attenuated and, with a sprightly front and creamy finish, good in mouthfeel. The Hallertauer hops dominate giving it an earthy, deeply herbal roundness and lengthy, slightly floral and bitter finish. Light mint, light grass, I'd say it was more Pilsner than Helles - but geez these hops, 'so fresh and so clean'. A sweetness of malt develops as it warms. The lean body fills out. I wish this was at style strength; seems the only thing lacking. A 5.6% ABV lager would be more adept. Lovely balance and clean as a whistle. A really well produced lager. Impressed!!! (33cL can, PKD 16/08/19)
3.1 Can from #ratebeersupertasters and Beer Cartel. Very straightforward standard Helles. Fair bit of nastiness. Certainly drinkable but far from memorable.
2.8 Bitter
