3.0 22oz bottle pours a hazy gold with an off white head. caramel malt and a dark fruit taste
3.7 November 17, 2015 - bottle from the Wine Tree. Finally, got my hands on a bottle of this, so was very excited. Golden pour with big fluffy white head. Aroma was spice, caramel and alcohol. Taste was consistent with the aroma, very much on the sweet side and heavy on the spice. Crossing another want off my list.
3.0 Pours an opaque straw color with a medium thick white head. Aroma of spice almost medicinal. Taste is better than smell but its still pretty cold. Taste of spicy booze, burn isn’t to bad. An ok beer, I should be able to finish the bomber and that will be it.
3.3 Smell is holiday spices. Taste is that pus a bit of hops. Medium body, medium carbonation, and some fosm
3.8 Bomber. Thanks Al. Pours a murky golden red with a decent off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, spice, and caramel. Taste is sweet malt, dark fruit, caramel, spice, and alcohol. Very good.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a muddy orange-amber with a white head. Smells of sweet malts and spice. Taste is medium+ sweet. Malty with caramel and some brightness underneath. Sweet. Full bodied and thick; average carbonation; a moderately bitter finish.
4.1 The first couple sips of this one absolutely rock your world. Great lacing, flavor is a cinnamon-like Belgian Strong. It got a little old after finishing the bomber, but a great beer nonetheless.
4.3 Bottle picked up for me by Darkdust, thanks so much. Been wanting to try this for so long, I was so stoked that they decided to bottle this again. Shared with my wife on the evening of my Grandfathers funeral. Poured into a chalice. Dark orange, gold, trecale, finger or so of creamy head, no real lacing. Nose is candy sugar, sweet malt, caramel, licorice, anise. Tastes bitter, sweet, hot from the Abv, breads, biscuity, some dark fruit in there as well. The burn lingers and dies, a bit of a tongue numbness.really complex and good.
3.2 Poured into tulip glass. Looks good. Amber color nice head. Smells okay. Sweet aroma, and even like grassy sweetness. Tastes pretty okay NYD. Real similar to the smell. No bad aftertaste. It’s weird not having the Three Floyds smell and taste that all the IPAs and pale ales all have (which are pretty well the same color) so that’s a little surprising. Overall, this is not really up your alley too much. Nice to try, but maybe pick something else up.
3.5 Cloudy orange to red pour with a single finger head. Aroma is spicy with some candied orange notes. Creamy mouth. Taste is sweet, yet has a sharp bite to it. Lots of candied orange and slightly boozy. Bitter bite in the finish. Lots of lace.
3.8 Bomber poured murky amber with a three finger creamy off-white head. Aromas of spice, colve, ginger, sweet malt, dried fruit, banana, and biscuit with a mild boozy finish. Flavor is somewhat sweet. Very good beer.
3.6 Aroma is spices, malts and a strong undercurrent of vegetables/heat. The flavor is malts, spices, caramel, mint/slight mouthwash and a slightly sour/warming finish.
3.7 Orange pour from bottle at home. White head. Spicy meatball. Super fruity. Orange, lemon and pepper. Really complex taste. I think I like it
3.8 Pours a hazy Amber. Nose of banana, fruit and bread. Taste is of a malty breadiness with a slight sweetness.
4.3 Apparently bottled 7/17/2015 enjoyed 8/22/2015 in a Hopslam tulip/snifter. Look - Finger of off white head. Settles to a ring and leaves blotchy lacing. Fine, medium, and large bubbles. Bright but translucent dark orange body. Smell - Ginger. Biscuit. Booze. Floral. Nose deep in it picks up dank hop and grapefruit. Banana. It smells chewy. Taste - Ginger overpowers everything else. Caramel. Biscuit. Floral. Booze. Feel - Heavy. Juice up front, dries up quickly. Spice and alcohol burn. Overall - I drank this earlier than planned because figured was hop forward like most Floyds. Hops on nose. Ginger beer. I wish Alpha Kong and Alpha Klaus would switch names.
3.5 Hazy amber/orange color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, caramel, & fruit/citrus; Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, caramel, molasses, fruit/citrus, hops, and spice; Warm finish; Considering the alcohol it’s fairly well hidden; Quite sweet & somewhat strange offering.
3.9 2014 draft at HopCat Indy. Sweet/spicy floral nose. Not as hoppy as expected & booze is subtle, but dangerous! Delicious, dangerous brew!
3.3 Bottle shared. Pours hazy orange brown with a small off white head. Aroma of herbs, cardomon, toffee, basil, booze, caramel, toffee and light yeasty notes. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.4 Bottle shared by Kermis. Slight hazy amber with nice off white head. Lots of herbs and spices, French herbs, basil, light dry sausage, garlic, grass, sweet malts and some nuts, curry. Medium sweet with alcoholic and herbal bitter finish. Over medium bodied with nice fitting carbonation. Decent stuff, slightly too much alcohol but nice aroma. A LOT of herbs though.
3.2 Poured medium amber with an off white head. Aroma of sweet berries and moderate spiciness. Medium body, flavour is medium sweet, medium spicy.
3.6 Bomber courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Thick creamy white head. fruity aroma. Very hazy light amber pour. Sweet. Pretty good
3.6 From bomber, hazy orange. aroma of cardomon, sweet citrus, mandarin orange. Flavor is similar spiced citrus fruits with some dark fruit mixed in, hats of banana, alcohol, and malts. Really complex ale, pretty good, would probably buy again
4.1 bottle. Freaking loved this beer. An imperial IPA and a belgian smashed together. Loved every sip
3.9 Bottle. Pours an amber/orange color with a haze. Picking up hops and floral notes with some malt and alcohol. Sweet on the tongue with some dark, candied fruits, caramel and malt. Incredibly complex and delicious!
3.0 Ohhhhhhhh shit! Old-timey whales be getting re-released up in this bitch! Pours orange-amber with a foamy white head. Nose is anise, lavender, hibiscus, and a caramel malt base. Some booze. Taste is real boozy with licorice, florals, pine, and caramel malt. Smooth, oily body with medium carbonation.
3.8 Bottle: Cloudy, orange-amber with a thick beige head. Orange, candied fruit scent. Taste is sugary sweet orange malt, apricot, light caramel, sugars...... Thick, very sweet.....a slight alcohol warmth and bitter. Astonishingly easy to drink for the ABV..... Really good.
3.2 Draft at Alchemy. Hazy orange color. Aroma of orange peel. Taste is bitter orange resin, oily mouthfeel. Big.
2.5 Bomber. No idea what the rest of you are drinking, but this shit is like a holiday beer gone wrong. Cardamom overwhelming everything else -- and just an FYI, cardamom when used in excess imparts a metallic note that is undesirable -- but I guess none of the 3F assholes bothered going to culinary school before they dumped a bushel of the shit into this overpriced bottle of crap. If it weren’t so damn costly, I’d have poured it down the fuckin drain. Fuck you Nick. There’s a reason I stopped buying your beers. And you better believe I won’t be spending another dime on anything you idiots brew. Ya fuckin jagoffs.
3.5 The cardamom really dominates, with some caramel and some fruit lingering in the background.
