3.8 Bottle at TSODRSG 13. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hop, pine, coffee. Flavour is fruit, malt, hop, pine, coffee. Medium to full body. Nice beer.
3.9 22 oz bottle. Rating from notes. This is probably one of the coolest names of a beer ever. Pours a very dark brownish black with a big sticky beige head. Aroma is roast, piney and citrus hops, mild chocolate and tobacco notes. I’m not really sure what a New Orleans style beer is, but this has leather, mint, and orange peel notes as well. Medium to fullish bodied. Somewhat creamy. Pretty nice in a style that I don’t really think has established itself ut of a gimmick style yet.
3.7 Bottle @ Bruce’s. The pour’s brown with a small head. Peppered chocolate nose. Red apple skin and toffee. The taste is similar. Peppery hop, earth. Just a touch of lactose, cream. Nicely full mouthfeel. Rich, luxurious. Medium body, fine carbonation. Good.
4.2 Another winner from 3F. Stunningly hoppy aroma. Some light coffee but also some bright fruit tones. Long bitter finish.
3.8 Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, 2013. Cloudy brownish body with a medium offwhite head. Aroma is malt, grapefruit, hops, fruit. Flavour is hops, fruit, malt. I´d like to try this even more fresh.
4.6 Pours a dark black. Lots of maltiness and lots of hop aroma. Creamy off white head that lingers with some lacing. Tastes somewhat fruity. Finishes with some caramel and is somewhat dry. A nice beer. Better than any other black ipa I've had.

4.0 6th August 2013 Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark red - brown beer. Good pale cream coloured head. Palate starts soft but turns crisper. Semi dry. The dark malt is quite light but makes it’s presence known by a whisper of coffee and very light roast. Big piney hops, mildly bitter. Light citrus. Bitter floral note and a touch of fresh orange. Dry finish with a good piney bitter linger. Fab!
3.6 Bottle from Mikkeller Beer shop. Hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - grapefruit and pine. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. A bit disappointing. 160813

3.7 Bottle at Jack’s farewell tasting, many thanks to Colin. It purs deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, sweet pine, prune, date, cocoa and orange. The taste is roasted malt, toast, pine, cocoa, earth, decent bitterness, coffee grinds, citrus and mild acidity. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good balance. Pretty tasty stuff.
3.6 Bottle pour dark brown. Nose sweet malt and floral hop. Tate sweet malt, spice hop and roast. Better roasted flavors, not burnt tasting like a lot of black IPA tend towards. Late bitter aftertaste.
3.9 From a trade with budznsudz. Thanks, man! Slightly thin looking brown with pretty persistent thin head and medium lacing. Nose is kind of light, some roast malt and orange. Taste is pine and light grapefruit hops, nice roasted malt core almost becoming burnt caramel with warmth. One of those where the total is greater than the sum of its parts. Really very nice BIPA. Hits the spot.
4.0 On tap at the brewery. Brown black with a beige head. light nose some citrus lemonb some odd earthiness. Lots of lemony hop flavors. Some bitter pine with undertones of dark fruit cherries tobacco and chocolate. Really over carbonated but but a creamy body once it settles. Long juicy bitter finish. Nice beer.
3.6 Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Nose holds burnt pine, orange, dirt. Medium sweet flavor, some chalky cocoa, good roast, earth, bitter grapefruit and orange rind, toast. Medium bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. 3.7 Split bomber with sherm1016. Pours a dark brown with thin head. Interesting malty initial taste with a bitter hop edge. Not a huge BIPA fan but this is good / tasty
3.8 At FFF. Poured darker brown with decent lace. Pleasant sweet hop citrus aroma. Quite smooth balanced character. A solid BIPA
4.0 Pours deep dark brown with thick creamy tan head. Aroma is roasty sweet malt and some floral/pine hops coming through. Taste is roasty coffee malt upfront with faint floral, piny hops on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering roasted coffee and bitter hops. Palate is thin and somewhat sticky. Overall this is an interesting mix of things. Heavy roastiness with some hop bite. I would say this is a pretty solid take on a Black IPA.
3.5 Bottle courtesy of GT. Thanks! Black pour with a khaki head. Super pine forward aroma. Very woody, herbal nose, some grapefruit, chocolate, caramel, and roast. Resin, pine, and bitter, woody herbs on the tongue. Tons of roasted malt, grapefruit peel, and a light sweetness of caramel and chocolate.
