This is a joint adventure between Three Floyds in Munster Indiana & Mikkeller in Copenhagen, Denmark an Oat Wine sold in 22 oz bottles only and brewed and bottled at Three Floyds
[I changed this back to Oatgoop, as the label calls it that. If it is distributed elsewhere by a different name, we can address that then.-walt]

Nasmaak is vooral rozijn. Aldus Huubs.
4.0 Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Papsoe. Thanks Henrik! It pours a dark amber color with a small and short lived off white head. The nose is monstrous and full of vanilla and fruity citrus jam notes. The flavor reminds me of peach marmalade with a good dose of vanilla and a slightly bitter back end to help round out the sweetness. A little syrupy and sweet with a lasting finish. I really enjoyed this brew.
3.5 Dark amber pour. Aged aroma, wood, raisin, some caramel and pine forest. No real hop experience. Bitter base and sticky palate. Somewhat roasted sweetness. Bit of syrup. It’s decent but somehow I expected even more. (Bottle at Colin’s De Molen tasting)
3.9 Bottle. Amber color, small white head. Aroma of raisins, port and madeira. Very sweety, heavy alcoholic flavor big malty influences. I did enjoy this very much.
3.4 A-- Poured a clear dark amber color. Off white one finger head with no visible carbonation. Really nice head retention on a few swirls. Has held up well for a beer over a year old. S-- Pine, grapefruit and a bit of maple syrup at first. Letting it sit and warm a bit more it is mostly pine and grapefruit. More like a soft IPA or barleywine by the smell. No oat smell at all. T-- Soft pine, orange and grapefruit. Still a bit of a maple taste to it. Also got rolled oats in the first sip but no more after that. M-- A lot of pine and citrus. At times aggressive and others not so much. Medium carbonation in the mouth and gets heavier as it sits. Flavor does last a while and is mostly pine and citrus. Get a bit of a syrupy feel as well. D-- It is Ok, nothing too worthy of getting excited over.
3.5 Shared at my tasting on May 29, 2010. Thanks Jonathan! Hazy orange with a decent head and lacing. OatGoop has a very complex aroma with scents of hops, pine, honey, resin, and alcohol, among other aromas. The beer is sweet and has a caramel aspect to it. This seems to be somewhat consistent with the other wheatwines I’ve tried so far. The body is too thin, even for a wheatwine. The sweetness becomes overbearing after a few ounces. This is a good beer to share several ways at a tasting.
4.0 Pors deep amber with a small off-white nose. Good lacing. Hoppy nose with notes of orange, caramel and citrus. Sweet flavor with bread, caramel, orange and citrus. Full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. Excellent.
3.8 I like this much more than the Boogoop. But I have also been sitting on this for at least 18 months-ish. Very smooth with deep malt character. Not too heavy. I wanna know this recipe because it far exceeded my expectations. Still some juicy slit citrus hops bouncing around. Solid effort. Might be a little sour note n the back end
4.2 this is a HUGE beer. blew my mind. a dark amber colour with a thick creamy head yummm mikkeller three floyds rarely disappoint!!
3.9 (Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty, hoppy nose with red fruit, citrus, orange marmalade, treacle, caramel and a touch of black-currant. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, treacle, bitter orange marmalade, dried apricots and loads of citric hops. Quite vinous finish with some warming alcohol. Full body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Fairly sweet. It’s a bit hard to pinpoint the oat character through all the hops. Quite an impressive beer. Very nice.
3.8 Dark amber medium body with good lasting beige head.Aroma is sweet malty with notes of citrusy hops.Very aromatic.Taste is heavy sweet, citrusy with notes of bitter orange peel.Soft carbonation.bIttersweet finish as it gets warmer.
4.0 Last pour at GTMW. Orange-brown, some haze. Soapy, steady head. FFF mega clean tropical hop aroma. A hoppy beast. Sticky finish, pretty big beer. A tad brutal for 2pm, but probably delightful to sip on late night. Awesome, but not as much depth as some of FFF’s offerings.
3.6 Sampled at the StL RB gathering. It poured a hazy golden color with a thick white head. The aroma was of oats, oranges and some hop bitters with spices. The taste was bitter, sweet fruits spices, grass and some alcohol.
3.6 22 oz. bottle shared by beernbourbon- thanks again, Vince! Pours a semi-cloudy amber with almost no head. Aroma of caramel malts, brown sugar, tea, cereal, dusty wooden shelves, and some citrus in the background. Flavor of caramel, tea, brown sugar, syrup, and grapefruit citrus. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, sticky mouthfeel. Good but not great, maybe because my palate was exhausted by the point I tried it. I have another one to try again sometime.
3.7 Tasted from cool-looking tall bottle at 2nd STL Ratebeer Gathering, thanks beernbourbon! Poured a mostly clear, deep reddish amber color with firm white foam and plenty of nice lace (which makes sense because adding oats to any recipe increases the protein for better head-retention and fuller mouthfeel.) A great-looking beer. Aromas of malt, caramel, citrus, flowery and slightly spicy hops, perfumey alcohol. Rich amber malt sweetness, bready and toasty, some grapefruit zest bitterness, perhaps a bit too much residual sugar. An interesting barleywine profile, but with oats as the main cereal grain. Medium body, high carbonation, "chewy" palate, lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Very tasty and memorable.
3.7 22oz bottle. Pours a bright amber color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is sweet, fruity, a little hoppy, but older hops, like an aged IPA. A little heavy on the palate with smooth carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, fruity, a little citrus, bread, with a sweet, malty finish. Tasty now, but I suspect it was better fresh.
3.4 Sampled at STL RB Gathering - Pours hazy orange/amber with an off-white head. The aroma has toffee, breadiness and rich maltiness. Medium / full body with light carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma traits along with plenty of alcohol presence and cotton candy. the finish is hot and shows some oxidation. Okay, but expected more with who was involved.
3.6 Bottle at RBBWG thanks to Benzai. Amber coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a small white head. Malty and slightly fruity hinted aroma. Full palatE. Finish is sligthly alcoholic with agains some malty fruity and rather sweet touches. Ok.
4.3 66 cl. bottle sampled @ RBWG 2012 – thx to Benzai – hazy amber red with a white head – smells very hoppy with lots of pine resin hops mixed with red fruits & sweet caramel, taste is bitter, caramel, dark fruits, lots of pine resin, bitter oranges, grapefruit & touch of pomegranate, spices, sticky/chewy candy, cocoa & slightly sticky malts, medium going to full caramel/barley wine body, neat
3.7 Clear orange brown, amber colour, white head. Quite sweet malty aroma, oak, some perfume, candy, caramel, quite alcoholic. Flavour sweet malty, dried fruit, apricot and fudge. Sweet malty finish, caramel, only light hops. (From 341mL bottle @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen. Thanks for sharing, Benzai!)
3.9 Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Orange colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter wonderfull flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Great stuff.
3.7 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, caramel, alcohol and hops.
3.8 14/I/2012 341ml bottle @ RBBWG 2012 - BB: n/a (2012-48) Thanks to Benzai for bringing the bottle! Clear reddish orange beer, small off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet start, alcohol, crunchy muesli, corn flakes, bit of resin. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: lots of dark chocolate, fudge, caramel, fruity notes, somewhat sugary. Aftertaste: little bitter, sweet.
3.7 Sampled @ RBBWG Antwerpen. Clear amber color, small to average sized, mostly diminishing, fair to good lacing white head. Smell moderately malty, moderately hoppy, lightly perfume. Taste some sweetness, alcohol, slight bitterness. Medium to full body and carbonation.
3.7 Tasted on 1/15/12 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle purchased at Discount Liquors. Pours clear amber with an average cream-white head that slowly recedes to a thin spot of lace and an average collar, leaving some spotty lace along the inside of the glass. The nose is full of caramel, brown sugar, and lightly toasted nutty malt, with the faded aroma of grassy herbal hops, and some pitted fruit. The flavor is mostly dry, and a bit more toasted than the nose with the same caramel and brown sugar, muted, aged citrus and grassy herbal hops, and some over-ripe peach. The body is full with a somewhat oily texture, light carbonation, and a long toasted caramel, brown sugar, and lightly bitter finish.
3.4 650ml bottle. Orange to amber coloured with small off-wite head. Caramel malt and fruityness. Taste is sweet, malty, a little bit of hops and a Marmite-like spicyness, also warming alcohol. Not bad concerning all rating aspects, but still not one of my favourite styles concerning taste.
3.7 15.10.2011. 0,66l Bottle. Golden colour with white head. Hazy. Aroma is malty. Malty flavours with lots of sweetness. Grassy hops with smooth flavours of sweetness and aromatic hops.
3.5 Bomber poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromaof toffee, sherry, dark fruit and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of mint, tofgfee, earthiness, light fruittiness and light sherry with a smooth warming lingering mint finish.
3.8 Hazy copper body, white head. Aroma of alcohol, caramelly malts, dark hops, raisins, resiny ones. Very light flavour for 10.4, smooth and easy to drink. Caramelly finish. Something on the finish is just a little bit disgusting. Maybe it’s too heavy with alcohol. Nice anyway.
4.1 RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting @ the Harlequin. Clear dark amber color, with a nice off white head. Ltos of hop aromas, flowery and spicy. Full body, ripe fruit aromas, very very tasty varietyx of flowery and fruity hops. Very nice.
