4.1Bottle @ beer temple. Pours an amber colored beer with an off white head. Aroma has hoppyness, some alcohol. Flavor is spicey, hoppy and malty. Medium sweet body medium carbonized. Very week balance between sweet and bitter. Very enjoyable to drink.
4.0Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Hazy amber liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruit, caramel, tropical fruit, white pepper, toffee, biscuit, grain and raw sugar. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of raw sugar and dried fruit. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice stuff.
4.1Sample at SWBF 2012
Pours cloudy orange with no head
Aromas of citrus, barley malts
Very fresch, pure and nice barley wine with great medium bitterness
3.2A-- Poured a hazy, darker orange amber color. Nice visible carbonation and for it’s age a nice 2 finger off white head that left nice soapy lacing. Not what I expected for a barleywine or compared to the first two in the series.
S-- Hops are still quite lively. Good fruit nose of Orange and grapefruit with some pine notes. Followed by the carmel backbone. Just bits of rye spices. Follows more of a DIPA ish nose really.
T-- Still quite hoppy. has held up well. Got the backbone of toasted carmel and then orange, pine and grapefruit. Just slightly grainy fruit flavors and touches of rye spice. Did fall apart after it warmed though. Lots of lemon scented pledge. Not entirely bad but overpowering lemon.
M-- Oily and full bodied. Still quite carbonated and lively. Earthy and spicy feel and dry finish.
O-- Not bad but got hard to finish as just became a lemon bomb and lost the Carmel and other fruits. First half of the beer was very nice though.
3.9Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small white head. The nose has tropical fruits, citrus, perhaps some pineapple and hints of rye. The flavor has more nice fruity notes, caramel, spicy rye, brown sugar and the alcohol remains well hidden.
4.0Aroma: Pleasant smell of rye and hobs. Appearance: Not the prettiest of beers, cloudy. Taste: A clear taste of rye goes through and is rounded by a strong hobs aroma, this is however kept in check by the heavy alcohol. Palate: Full, sticky, average, bitter. Overall: Very good, but the hobby quality of the Boogoop is missing, the rye flavor is definitely a plus.
3.4Bottled. Hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruits, rye bread, some raisins and alcohol. Flavour is sweet fruits, raisins, mild rye bread as well as some toasted notes.
4.4On bottle from Ølbutikken

3.4Pour hazy orange-cobber, with a nice Big and fluffy white head.
Aroma of sweet fruits, caramel, toffee. Nice balance between the maltyness and the fresh hops.
Quite sweet and vinous, but a little bitter at the end.
Medium bodied, with a fizzy carb.
4.5Bottle from November 2010 purchased @ the brewpub, cellared @ 54 degrees for one year, two weeks. Pours a hazy deep red with loosely bubbled head and great retention. Aroma was blisteringly hoppy when fresh but has mellowed since, allowing the intensely spicy rye bread character to emerge along with notes of bleu cheese, deep caramel sweetness, and balanced spiciness from the hops. As it warms, notes of thyme, rosemary, and carroway emerge. Taste is rye bread, caramel candy, spice, minor green apple, resin, cedar. Body is full, oily/slick, low low carbonation, sweet but balanced finish. Overall, this is incredibly complex and really benefits from aging.
3.7Bottle looks weird. Beer in the glass deep golden-copper coloured. Starts strong, dry and a bit sourish. More complex than exspected. Finish more balanced, still quite dry. Notes of grapefruit. Not too drinkable, but a beer to enjoy.
3.7hazy, pale amber with a small white head. Fruity and hoppy notes. Malt, fruit ( grape ) and bitterness. Full body with a long, bitter and fruity finish.
3.6Bottle 650ml. Pours hazy glowing amber with huge offwhite head. Aroma is caramel, dominant citrus hops. Taste is medium to strong sweet, medium bitterness. Full body, oily, soft carbonation.
3.8Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a medium creamy longlasting off white head. The aroma is marmelade, sweet fruit, hops, sweet caramel and some berries. The flavour is highly fruity with notes of sweet caramel, malt, rye and berries.
4.0Bottled.
Pours a medium gold, with a firm white head.
The aroma is dominated by hops, lots of fruits going on, rye bread, alcohol, citrus.
Medium sweet, full bodied, high bitterness, balanced CO2.
The taste picks up everything from the aroma, the alcohol is embedded within a firm malty backbone, the sweetness is balanced by the hops, and the finish just goes on, and on... (2011-09-29)
3.9Draught at Mikkeller bar 1105
Deep amber with a white head.
Sweet and malty aroma and flavour along with citrus and hops.
Creamy mouthfeel. Surprisingly light body.
4.222 oz bomber. Pours an orange caramel color with a medium sized light beige head. Aroma of fresh pine, citrus, tea, rye, candied sugar, malt and hops. Taste is much the same as the aroma.
3.8A solid fruity hoppy rye wine. Medium body nice off white head that leave a gentle lacing. Worth a try if you can find it!
4.2Bottle from Mane Liquor. Have had this one put away for about 8 months now. I’d say its a good beer to end dad’s 50th on. Pours a very nice orange with a two finger, frothy white head. Leaves lots of lacing around the edges of the glass and head lingers for the whole beer. Aroma has everything going for it. At first sniff I get chocolate sultanas. As it breathes it comes together a little more. Lots of raisins, banana, sultana, mild chocolate, toffee and big addition of hops. A slight sour yeast behind it. Lots of complexity here. Loads of banana and piney hops in the taste. Light toffee and fig notes backing it. Hints of dried apple and apricot. Very complex but very balanced. Fantastic beer and I think it is slightly better than the Oatgoop which I enjoyed a heap
3.722 oz. bottle shared by Doug- thanks! I was so close to bringing my Oatgoop to the tasting but backed off for some reason. Damn. Anyway, this one pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma of tea, rye, grapes, grapefruit, caramel malts, wheat, and resin. Flavor of tea, caramel malts, brown sugar, wheat, mixed fruits, and rye. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, chewy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Liked this a bit better than the Hvedegoop.
3.8Bottle@TFODRBSG11.Pours golden orange with a white head.Aroma of peachy hops, malt, fruitiness, citrus and floral hops.Flavor is sweet and malt with some bitterness and peachy, floral hops.Medium body, average carbonation.Really nice and hoppy beer
3.8Bottle, 22oz. It’s a hazy one, golden-orange in color and with a dense, off-white head. Piney, lightly grassy and herbal nose with sugary maltyness. The flavor is a bit sugary sweetish, with a solid dose of bitterness. Peach notes, citrus peel and pine cones too. Full-bodied and quite warming, a bit on the sweet side. Another pleasant brother in the goop series. 110820
