3.5 Comes off as smelling crazy hopy but is quite mild. Julie thinks kinds water down. Overall she gives 1.
4.1 Pride and Joy pours a mostly clear bronze orange with a thick foamy beige head that lasts throughout the duration of the beer. The aroma is citrus, rye bread and caramel. The flavor is also citrus, rye bread and caramel. The beer is so smooth with every sip. Overall this is a very nice brew.
3.1 12oz bottle pours a clear orange with some clumpy, white head. Nose is malty, fruit, orange, cracker, a little green unripened pear. Flavor is clean, malty, fruity, orange, mild rose water, cracker. Clean finish.
3.6 Bottle poured. Great look and smell. Has tremendous flavor for a session beer. I can see picking up a six pack of this to watch the game.
3.4 12 oz bottle dated 6/11/14 poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Golden orange/brown with a finger of off-white head. A bit hazy from the tiny bits of floating sediment. Aromas of toast, breadsticks, light citrus. Tastes of citrus, toasty notes, spices. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish. Medium carbonation, light mouthfeel.
4.0 A nice citrus nose and tongue. Correct body on tongue. Sweet with correct hoppiness. Not a mild but a great pale ale.
4.2 This beer has a lot of flavor for a mild. Very smooth taste with just a hint of bitter hop at the finish. This is like Alpha King’s little brother. If you are looking for a good, session beer, this is for you. Hop aroma is citrus. Not a lot of malt, but just enough.
3.8 Bottle at home, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: hoppy, fruity, citra, nice. TASTE: hoppy, fruity, citra, bitter.
3.6 I guess I expected more from 3 Floyds. Although it does state mild ale, I was thinking more of a pale ale with a stronger hop presence. Flavors of grapefruit/citrus are present along with mild hops. Overall fairly light and not as hoppy as I prefer. Decent session beer.
3.5 Orangey color with a one finger off white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, hops and slight caramel. Taste is a nice citrus and pine but not as strong a pale ale. Good refreshing beer.
3.6 Bottle from Mikkeller online shop; hazy light copper pour with a big frothy off white head, fruit and biscuit aroma, taste has grass, some dark fruits, a hint of grapefruit, grassy with some citrus, strange it says mild ale on the label.
3.5 5 oz. pour, on tap at Stone Tap in Hudson, WI. Consumed on 6-25-14. Pours a clear brass/bronze with a moderate amount of cream-colored head. Produces long-lasting, thick lacing. Refreshing, piney, citric smell features grapefruit, lemon, green apple, green grape, and cracker scents. Smells good. Flavors of cracker, lemon, grapefruit, and pine. Interestingly, the flavor matches the aroma but in reverse order of emphasis. Salty, briney flavor. Light body. Easy to drink. Lively and soft in the palate. Refreshing. Overall, a solid beer and above average for the style. Seems to me more like an American Pale Ale than an Amber Ale (as it is classified at RateBeer) or a Mild (as it is billed by the brewery).
3.6 Clear amber-copper color, moderate white head. Aroma is bread, hay, and a bit of must. Light sweetness and some pine bitterness in the finish. Light bodied, lively carb, and a short finish.
3.6 Sweet, malty, smooth. Amber pour. Nose was toffee and crisp hops. Taste added honey. Nothing spectacular but super sessionable.
3.8 On-tap at Bernie’s Tap Room in Waukesha , WI. Pours a copper color with a foamy, beige head. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty. The taste is smooth and easy drinking. Finishes slightly bitter and is not as big and bold as other Three Floyds offerings.
3.5 Bottle. Almost clear amber liquid with medium white head. Aroma of toffee, citrus, bread, earth and tangerine. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of toffee, earth and citrus. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.
3.7 Bottle. Orange pour with tan head. Light spice, herbal and earthy hop tones. Flavors are more rich earthy and spice hops, hoppier than expected.
3.8 Pours orange with low white head Aromas of tropical fruits, honey, apricot marmalade, hints of caramel Taste has nice citrusy fruityness, tropical fruits, hints of caramel and resin Nice fresh, low to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Great in the sun!
3.9 Nice Amarillo aroma (dry-hopped, probably), follows through in the taste. Some resin, as well. Not what I think of when I think "mild". Hoppy American mild, I guess. Light Copper color, big head, way overcarbed. Tastes great, but maybe American bitter would be closer to the style. Not malty--like sweet grapefruit & peach.
3.2 Malty smell dark amber color, the taste is smooth, citrus taste. This is a session beer no doubt, smooth, low ABV.
3.4 Cloudy carrot-orange color. Thick half-finger of head. Aroma is sugary barley malts. Spicy and earthy like a prickly red ale. The hops are of the bittering/balance variety. Dry with a rye bread quality. The taste is more bready malts, lots of spiciness. The hop is basically an accent, not much going on there, but that’s to be expected. Feels medium-bodied, a little sandpapery. It’s a very earthy, malty ale. The amber malts are really flavorful. Decent. A mild ale indeed, a session ale with plenty of malt flavor.
3.0 Tap. Clear copper. Mild nose. Surprisingly (is it at Three Floyd’s?) hoppy for mild ale. Slight metallic taste.
3.8 Bottle. Orange colour with white head. Citric, tropical fruits aroma. Citric, tropical fruits taste, some caramel. Bitter. Medium body.
3.7 Pours deep gold into a tulip. White head recedes to skim surface. Caramel and toffee aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and pit fruit front to back.
3.0 全体的に控えめだけど、あまさが引き立つかな 梨というかなんというか、爽やかな甘い香り もう少しパンチがあると良いんだけど
2.9 Nothing mild about it. There are city’s notes and it is more hoppy than I expected. Good overall.
3.6 Light peachy/amber, small frothy head, some lacing. Some citrus, rye, hoppy. Tastes like a moderated Alpha King. Very pleasant, good session beer.
3.1 Pours hazy peach with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is honey, light orange, some tropical fruit. Taste is citrus, honey, slight caramel. Mouth is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Aftertaste is slight citrus and caramel.
3.5 Pours hazy amber with low frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, rye bread, light citrus, hints of toffee. Taste is rye bread sweet with light bitter finish. Creamy, smooth body with soft carbonation.
3.9 This is a relatively overlooked offering from FFF. Compared to the true English ’Mild’ this is much hopper and full flavored. In real terms, this is always a solid standby. Wet and grassy with citrus notes and a pleasing bitterness. Many compare this to Alpha King, as a toned down version. Whilst there are some similarities this beer holds up on its’ own.
