Three Floyds Space Station Middle Finger

With the same grim determination and American innovation that President Jack Kennedy showed when propelling us to victory in the space race, we at Three Floyds bring you Space Station Middle Finger. Both bright and citrusy this pale ale deserves to be in orbit.

4.0 Foamy off white head left a creamy cover on a hazy dark.amber body. Spiced stewed fruit & malt aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth with a tingle on the back. Sweet citrus, orange, malt & spiced tastes with a bitter finish. Very tasty.
3.8 12 ounce bottle. Hazy amber orange color. Small frothy beige head. Toasted malt nose hints at tea and earthy hops. First sip brings bitter sweet notes of orange and herbal, resiny hops. Some toffee and black tea as well. Finishes with notes of dark toast and light pine.
3.1 June 27, 2020 - bottle shared by Andy. Clear orange pour with nice amount of head. Aroma and taste that were nicely balanced with malt and aroma.
3.8 Bottle found in beer cove. Local distributor. Very good Balanced but a good amount of bitterness
3.8 Bottle. Pours golden orange with a thick off-white head. Aroma was floral with citrus, grass and orange. Flavor of pale malts, citrus, apricot, pine, orange and grass. Decent brew
3.7 Pours a copper-amber, with smallish head. Aroma is grassy, gassy, and has some citrus. Flavor follows, along with a fairly bitter, hop-pine bite at the finish. Pretty much the prototypical APA...
3.8 Slightly hazy dark gold to copper pour with a one finger, creamy of white head. Aroma is super duper bright and fruity citrus, like if every fruit in five alive were also the equivalent of orange slice candy, some perfumey and floral notes, salted bread and yuzu. Flavor is more subdued in the crazy malt notes and a little sweeter than expected with some doughy yeast and light peppery notes. Light to medium body neutral to slightly creamy entry, off dry after that, with a medium carbonation. Really tasty, but weird. I like it, but probably won't buy it all the time.

4.0 12oz bottle. Copper with thick white head. Big and nice nose of floral pine. Drying hop bite, some malt balance. Don't see this style as much, but happy this landed on the surface of my fridge shelf.
3.9 Can from my friend John. Pours dark gold with a thick white head and a grassy citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a lot of citrus and a fairly bitter finish.
3.4 Rocky head on a golden pour. Cool label. Interesting PA with some unusual flavor notes, possibly from some hops I don't know well. A bit of candied orange sweetness in the aroma. Some grassy and nutty flavors along with pine and banana. So a little weird (spacy?) but good.
3.9 Aroma is citrus, marmalade, and apricot. Taste EIS light sweet malts , apricot and a dank and earthy finish.
4.0 Bottle. Grapefruit citrus aroma with notes of orange, caramel and a little bit lime. Pours cloudy caramel colored with one finger of off white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with juicy grapefruit and orange citrus flavors. Finishes smooth with caramel malt and lime citrus flavors. Really nice pale.
3.0 Hazy orange yellow pour with a creamy white head. Slight citrus aroma with citrus sweetness, some grain, and touch of hops.
3.8 Another great pale ale. Hoppy but not overly so. Balance with a honey sense. Somewhat light and easy to drink.
3.8 On tap at Fisk & co. Big mixed fruit aroma. Grainy fruity taste, sweet with a big bitter finish. Good other other 3F pale ales are better.
3.3 Slightly catty aroma of hops and some orange. Deep golden color with orange hues and a thick off white head. Sweet up front, lots of caramel malt. Some citrus and a piney catty hop finish. Balanced.
3.3 Pint at the Winking Lizard in Copley Ohio.Slight hint of hops. Golden in color and off white head. Film on glass. Light taste of hops. Pretty well balanced. Very drinkable. Slight hop aftertastes. Very goodbye. Cheers!
2.6 355ml bottle. Pours golden orange, light haze, nice-looking off-white head. Aroma kinda of smells like sweet perfume, kaffir lime leaf and Kölnisch wasser. Flavor is canned pears, pretzel, fruit cocktail. This is a sweet and fruity pale ale, not my thing.
3.6 On tap. Copper clear pour, frothy. Lots of lacing. Fruity...tastes like...apricots? Thick and sticky. High bitterness. Quite good.
3.1 Healthy cloudy orange pour with long lasting thick white head. Earthy but bright citrus aroma, hints of fresh cut grass. Soft carbonation and airy mouthfeel, finishes clean and a bit dry. Strong balanced citrus flavor, slightly bitter, heavy on orange juice, biscuity malt too. Okay but pales in comparison to other three Floyd offerings.
3.9 Draft at Bru Craft. Hazy orange copper pour with a slim dense cover of soft foam. Lots of lace. Dark citrusy and woody. Blood orange. Burnished wood. Autumn leaves. Rust. Nicely unusual for the style. Crisp and refreshing. Really good.
4.1 Citrus. Malt. Dough. Hazy orange amber. Thick rocky head. Great retention. Leaves thick chunks of dense foam on the glass. Thick. Bright citrus on the front. Grass. Earth. Malt. Bread. Very good.
3.4 Bottle. Orange-tinted copper with a thin but sticky top. The aroma is a bit of rustic pulp, and the beer drinks with a meaty fruit blend, thick and rindy blood orange, and chewy greens. (#7352, 3/2019)
3.9 Aroma is a surprise: fruit (and not citrus) - apricot, and quite dominantly apricot. After the beer settles a bit, then some citrus. Hazy, murky orange, bright orange with a backlight; otherwise, a bit muddy. Small (tiny) particles along with the carbonation. Tall slightly tan (only slightly) thick head, slowly receding, leaving thick lacing that decorates the glass all the way down as you drink. Very nice looking. Smooth, creamy, almost thick, initially, but it thins out after the initial hit. As with the aroma, strong apricot taste, balanced with a bready malt, a touch of sweetness along with a nicely bitter middle. Finish is malty smooth, mild, and clean. Slightly bitter aftertaste. An unusual APA, but very well done and very delicious.
3.3 Draft. Pours golden orange with a white head. Fruity hops, a little marmalade, and mild-moderate bitterness. Decent.
4.5 Mukava hedelmän makeus.
3.6 8/7/18. 12oz bottle from Piggly Wiggly. Who comes up with these names and descriptions? Orange pour with a small khaki head. Bright citrusy aroma, touch of floral. Good flavor, citrus, medium bitterness, touches of dough. Not bad.
4.2 9/28/18 (Chicago): Purchased 7/21 ($11 six pack) at 3 Floyds Brewery. Bronze pour of 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Generous puffy one finger head, leaves a nice lacing, Nice sweet, but not too sweet, grassy and floral hops aroma. Very nice dry semi-bitter taste, hoppy, nice blended floral offset though not as strong as the aroma would lead. Crisp clean mouth feel, pucker up with a nice bitter dry feel. Overall excellent APA.
3.3 Taste: slight hop bitterness, citrus, tangy, crisp clean finish. Herbal grassy nose. bright amber hue, mostly clear, average head delicate lace. Medium body. Balanced.
