4.3 Tap at warpigs, copenhagen. Copper color, white head. Nice aroma has caramel, hops, sweet notes, some tropical fruits. Great taste has fruitiness, big hops, belgian style sweet notes, dry hoppy end. Great balance.
4.2 Aroma is malty sweetness with a hoppy balance. Copper colour and White head. Taste is medium/heavy sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium/full body with a thick feel. Finish is a soft dry bitterness.
3.7 Tap@Warpigs, Copenhagen - fuzzy Amber pour with white head and lacing. Medium sweet fruity and malty, some notes of peach and grapefruit, some citrus peel, caramel, fudge, candy sugar, good hoppy backing, nice stuff.
3.6 Draft. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, yeast fruits, and grapefrugt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, citrus fruits, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.
3.7 From tap at Warpigs. Hazy yellow colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops, fruit, caramel, peach and bitterness.
3.7 22oz bomber via trade, thanks to Ryan. It pours a clean golden color with a medium off white head. Aroma is medium sweet and rich in tropical fruity hops, as well as biscuity malts and caramel. Light yeast, lads of caramelised oranges and peaches. Taste is also medium sweet with more notes of oranges, peaches, caramel, biscuit, light alcohol burnt. Some yeasty esters but on the light side. The sweet alcohol component becomes more prominent as the beer warms up. Medium to full bodied with good carbonation. Overall, bold and tasty, if a little rough
4.1 Had this on draft at Eataly in Chicago. Poured a nice golden color with a minimum white head. Thought it was more of a hopped Belgian -- sweet, candy flavors balanced with grapefruit and yeast with a good dose of hops.
3.9 Orange amber. Nose of sweet tropical fruit, grapefruit, Belgian yeast, and candy. Flavor is grapefruit rind, tropical fruit, and sweet Belgian candy and yeast. Lingering bitter grapefruit. Big and syrupy.
3.6 Bottle thanks to ClarkVV. Voice clarity amber in color comma lasting head retention period Aroma is resinous with notes of yeast. But bold Pine. Flavor is mild Pine with week malt backbone. Bitterness is moderate with a slight resin aftertaste. Decent. OK balance of yeast and hops
3.7 Poured from bottle thanks ClarkVV juicy orange with a nice thin white head. Aromas of flowers dank pine and juicy fruit. Taste is mango juicy clementine finish.
3.6 bomber, orange light. nice aroma. more tropical than I expected for a 3F beer. piney with a nice mango and clementine finish Juicy, really bright with lots of citrus.
4.0 Bomber into IPA glass. Pours a nice juicy orange with a tight, compact two-finger head. Nose of juicy estery flowers, play doh, bit of pine resin, banana taffy, clove, orange and grapefruit. The yeast also gives it a spicy, herbal, almost rosemary/thyme note. Flavor begins a bit effervescent and brightly bitter, quite resinous pine and floral perfume comes forth, ripe grapefruit juice and pith, nice and non-intrusive yeast presence that gives a slight claylike earthiness as well as a spicy herbal aspect. Not a fan of Belgian IPAs, but this is nice and complex in a lot of lovely ways.
3.4 Pours orange with a two-finger ivory head and nice, sticky lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, piney hops, some standard Dubbel-style peppery spiciness, and hints of grapefruit, citrus, and stone fruit. Taste is floral with some piney bitterness, decent, not great.
3.8 650ml bottle from Woodmans in Waukesha shared with bananabi11. Orangey copper pour with an off-white head leaving some lacing. Aroma has big fruity citrus with tangy spices. Taste is of sweet fruits, pineapple, a strong tangy spice component from the yeast. The blend is well done, led by the yeast, and the body is medium. Moderately carbonated with a touch of an alcohol presence. Finishes tangy sweet and bone dry. Very nice effort for a belgian IPA. 14.1
3.4 Light amber color with a white head. Aroma of malts, citrus, yeast and slight breadiness. Taste is dominated by malt and yeast with a slight hop finish. Warm alcohol feeling.
3.7 Chicago tasting. Bottle shared by John. Is hazy, orange-ish body with a small off-white head. Aromas of malt, citrus, peppercorns, yeast. Lots of yeast in the flavor. Malty citrus. Alcohol warmth throughout. Medium - thick body. Nice.
3.9 Poured from a bomber. Deep amber orange hue with a pillowy head that takes some time to settle. Nice lacing as I drink. Fruity and bubblegum in the nose with an aromatic citrus aroma. Banana, caramel, citrus and pine are some of the many layers in the taste. Assertive bitterness to take on the sweetness.
3.5 Sample during Jungle Jim’s International Beerfest. Hazy darker golden, kind of orange color. Thin white kind of bubbly head. Bits of lace. Orange citrus, spice, toasty malt, belgian yeast. Bigger bitter taste, kind of spicy. Light to moderate sweet. Pleasant citrusy hop. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Solid, interesting pale ale to try. But the spicy bite sorta slows it up.
3.7 Bottle. Light amber body with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, coriander, spice, orange peel, grapefruit, basement. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sticky finish and a little hot. Tartness/bitterness lingers. Interesting combination of flavors and overall clean.
3.3 Pours unclear bright but deep orange with a faded white grayish head. The aroma brings citrus and orange with some amber malt like yeast. Flavor brings some citrus sweet orange laying nicely on the palate with the Brkgian yeast hitting the backend to tame the hops.
3.8 Lots of hay and esters in the aroma. Some melon and a light bubblegum too. Taste is straw, clove, a light honeydew melon, light caramel. Some booze taste on the end. Taste like a nice earthy hopped Belgium tripel.
3.9 Bottle, 05/07/2015. 2015 bottling. Pours a rich amber color with golden highlights, medium size white head with soapy lacing around the edge of the glass. Aroma is caramel glazed citrus hops and melon, honey resin pine, bready malts with spicy Belgian yeast. Taste is thick resinous citrus, pine with peppery, herbal yeast notes. Medium thick body. Quite tasty.
3.9 On tap at Winking Lizard in Worthington at the start of Columbus craft brew week: amber orange pour. light belgian, citrus, perfume aroma. clean crisp even taste - light bitter, little soapy, grapefruit, sweet malt, yeasty. the belgian ipa’s aren’t my favorite, but I’d say this leans more toward the ipa and is as good as I’ve had. - 7.8
4.3 This is a nice alternative to classic Floyds ales. It is worth trying. Only beer I’ve had like it is Le Freak.
3.9 Sample at Bad Parenting Club (plus a few dirty aunt/uncles?!): NC Beer Edition on 03/28/2015. The beer is a clear dark orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, caramel malt and a bit of herbal yeast. The finish is moderately bitter with piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
3.9 From bomber. Pours a half-hazy copper color with a medium white head and moderate lacing. Aroma of fruits. Taste is a big semi-sweet fruity flavor. Mild bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and a light bitter finish. Very nice beer.
4.2 22 ounce bottle, bottled on 02/25/2015. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like stone fruit, apples, citrusy and pine hops, and bready malt. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some peppery spice, candied oranges, citrus peel and a bit of clove noticeable. There’s also a good lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s slick, smooth and goes down easy. Moderate carbonation. I liked this brew, certainly worth picking up! $11.99 a bomber.
4.3 Poured from a bomber into a 3F pint glass dark clear amber with a thick beige head. Aroma fruity hops. Flavor is Belgian upfront with the signature 3F hoppiness. Usually don’t like my beloved DIPAs flawed with Belgian yeast but this one works. Balanced without making this a banana ester hop cluster of confusion. Actually bought a second bottle. Yep 3F wins again!!
3.4 Bottle consumed June 2014 while visiting Bloomington, IN. Amber pour with a decent khaki head, mild lacing. Big hop aroma, grapefruit, mild pine, some bready doughiness, not an overwhelming presence of Belgian yeast, lightly sweet and fruity, estery. Okay flavor, a touch sweet for me, grapefruit, pine, bready, a bit of caramel, candied orange peel. Not bad.
