3.8 Tap at the brewpub. Clear dark golden with white head. Resin, mango, dried orange peel, light flowery, lots of caramel, some dry mineral notes and light roasted malts. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Good stuff.
3.2 Tap at tap room. Gold color with spotty head and medium lacing. Caramel, mandarin oranges, strawberry and slight alcohol aromas. Very sweet with a resiny bitterness and a slight ammonia, alcohol aftertaste. Heavy body with a fizzy but sticky feel.
4.0 Bottle, 650ml. A clear amber beer with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with some malt and caramel. Taste is bitter with some carbonaion and astringency. Medium bodied with a malty aftertaste, very well balanced with some hops. Easy to drink.
4.1 Bottle, 650ml. Hazy light orange with sediment and a frothy offwhite head. Fruity hoppy and caramel aromas. Medium to full bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Delicious malty and hoppy character into an astrigent finish. Excellent IPA.
4.2 Big bottle. Hazy orange color with a white head. Citrus tropical fruit hops aroma. Lemon orange hops up front with a malt finish that lingers, heavy body.
3.8 Bottle Erica brought back for me from her trip to 3 Floyds. Pours dark orange with a medium white head. Sweet and malty smell, brown sugar, some dank hops. Taste is full and sweet with bread, fruits and hops. Palate is oily and full. Overall a tasteful and complex beer. Good stuff!
3.9 Poured an amber color ale with a nice large foamy head. Aroma of citrusy and grapefruit notes are quite astonishing. Taste is a mix of floral citrusy hops notes with some grapefruits and light residual sugar notes are also perceptible. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Love the floral hoppy aspect of this beer and the fact that there is not much bitterness in the aftertaste that is noticeable.
4.2 Tasted from a bomber (Thanks Pablo951). It poured an almost clear amber hue with an orangish head. Excellent orange and hop aroma with a hint of lemons. Thick tasting DIPA. Powerful hop and malt taste. Strong enought to go to war with! Three Floyd’s has done it again with another damn tasty IPA. Best mullet this side of Patrick Kane.
3.8 Has a really strong aroma and a good and hoppy flavor. Pretty easy drinking for a double.
3.2 Bottle born on 2-15-16. Sunny gold pour with voluminous head. Nose of prickly mango, lemongrass, young banana, pineapple, pine resin and a steep earthiness. Flavor is bright, resinous, and bitter with grassy lemon, parfumy essences that waft along the top of the palate, pineapple, white flowers, pithy citrus, gently candied fruit, and a crackery malt. Not a show-stopper, but pretty aggressive with nice floral presence. A little too high-noted with nothing below to carry it.
3.6 July 18, 2015. Bottle at Quebec tasting. Thanks for sharing! Hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is peach, papaya, grapefruit, orange, pine, hints of bread and slight boozy. Taste is light to medium sweet, tropical fruits with a piney bitter finish and slight warming notes of alcohol. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
3.7 Bottle shared by Dave. Thanks man. Orange body with an inch of white head. Aromas include pineapple, pine resin, dank hops. Assorted tropical fruits, medium sweetness. Robust, malty body. Moderate alcohol presence. Pretty tasty.
3.7 Bomber. Poured cloudy, orange in color with a small off white head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus notes and malts. Taste starts sweet and malty, turning bitter and hoppy towards the end, well balanced but a bit boozy. Overall good, enjoyable and tasty.
3.7 Aroma is juicy tropical fruit, added sugar from malt, pine, decent. Appearance is amber golden, white head, hazy. Taste is malty, pine, juicy tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is medium body and crisp to medium carbonation, the aftertaste is very much like a barleywine. Overall, this one is just meh. Nothing like Dreadnaught or Panzer Wolf.
3.6 Bottle- Pours bright orange hue with a small soapy white head and very sparse lacing. Head became rocky and very small after first sip. Nose is leaffy hops, resin, robust grapefruit, slight dirty malt, pungent citrus. This beer has considerable oxidization however, its only a month old. I had this on tap a few weeks ago and it was very similar. Flavors of dirty earthy leaffy somewhat citric hops, really mushy malt character, not very bright at all. I have been very dissapointed with these recent FFF beers, even Zombie Dust i had recently was sucky. This guys have fallen.
3.6 Bottle. Pours mostly clear gold. Aroma and flavor are citrus, bready malts, floral notes, light toast, and faint caramel. Medium body.
3.6 Bomber. Poured cloudy medium golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up sweetish honey and caramel topped by black peppery notes and pine resin. The flavor found similar stuff, with good balance between the sweets, the bitters, and the booze.. fruity character at the end. Medium-plus bodied and a little scratchy on the palate... solid.
3.5 Reddish to orange pour with a single finger head. Aroma of blood orange and some grapefruit. Bitter grapefruit dominates the flavor. Slightly dry finish. Some piney notes as well intermingles with orange. Medium bodied. Some lace present.
3.6 Draft to snifter. Hazy golden orange with soft white head. Aroma is tropical fruit and pine resin. Taste is tropical and citrus fruit with some pine and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a juicy finish. Nice beer.
3.7 22oz bottle poured into an IPA glass. The aroma is crazy sweet with tangerine, pineapple, honeydew, and honey notes as well as a mild woody pine as the head settles. The beer is lightly hazy and oily with an orange gold hue and topped by an off white soapy foam head that has mild retention and very light lace. The taste is a high-medium bitter and a high sweetness. The syrupy texture has a foamy carbonation and a medium full with notes of bitter citrus, bread crust, and a mild dank herb. The finish is crisp with a zest and notes of tropical fruit, melon, and honey, and some undertones of bread crust. There’s a dry, mildly cloying aftertaste with bitter grapefruit and dry pine.
4.0 22 ounce bottle, bottled on 10/05/2015. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy amber/orange color with a couple inch frothy off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like citrusy (tropical fruit, melon, apricot) and pine hops, along with some sweet malt. I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there’s also some herbal hops and tangerines noticeable. It’s a fruitier DIPA, the bitterness isn’t too strong in this one. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and coating, and is well carbonated. I liked this, it’s certainly worth picking up if you’ve never tried it before.
3.6 Bottle. Cloudy golden body. Frothy, off-white head. Aroma of toasted grain, orange peel, grapefruit, resin, pine, citrus, caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, moderate carbonation. Taste of citrus, grapefruit, light resin and pine, orange. Light alcohol at the end.
3.7 Bright hazy orange with small Shute head and little lacing. Aroma and flavor have string piney hops, vegetables and light bitterness. Okay overall
4.2 Draft at FFF. Pours mostly clear golden with thin head. Nose is floral and tropical. Taste is sweet with bitterness following. Great.
3.3 Super hazy golden coloured body with a decent, two centimetre tall tan head and a slight orange glow. Aroma of rich sticky hops with a tropical fruit scent, some good malts and a lot of alcohol and sugars noticeable as well. Full-bodied; Rich malty mouthful with a good tropical fruit and grassy hop flavour that shows well. Aftertaste shows a light apricot and orange flavour with a little sweetness, and some noticeable hops. Overall, nothing that shows up as a great Imperial IPA and a decent one for sure, but nothing more than that. If you peeled this label off and put on an unknown brewery, it would get far less favourable scores. Please don’t go out of your way or spend a ton of money like I did (on both accounts) to get this beer - you’ll be disappointed. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from King Richard Wine & Spirits in Michigan City, Indiana on 09-September-2015 for US$10,99 sampled at home in Washington on 20-September-2015, just eleven days after purchase.
3.7 bottle. super funky imperial IPA. Massive flavor and unique taste. Another gem from 3 Floyds
3.7 22 oz. bomber. Poured burnt orange with thin white head that dissipated quickly. Big malt, caramel sweetness, complex mix of orange, grapefruit, and resinous pine. Touch boozy. Dry finish. Been a while since my last but seemed like an aged Dreadnaught. Very solid, just not quite my style IIPA.
2.7 Intensiv hopfiger, herb grasiger Beginn mit alkoholischen Noten. Etwas Grapefruit, trocken, Heu. Trockenes Ende. Naja... 10/9/8/7/11/7
3.5 On tap at fff. Unobtrusive dipa. Cloudy orange. Very drinkable , with hop forward but cuddled in malt finish. Amazing and damgerously drinkable.
3.7 Tap, 3 Floyd’s Brewery. Very hazy yellow gold. Intense aroma of pine resin and sweet honey. Massive hops, sweet with more resin. Long finish.
