4.222 ounce bottle into signature teku glass, bottled on 10/17/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of huge nutty dark roast espresso, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, fudge, toasted oats, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of smoke, charcoal, fruit, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, espresso, and light earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big nutty dark roast espresso, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, fudge, toasted oats, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of smoke, charcoal, fruit, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal/woody hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty espresso, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, fudge, toasted oats, dark/brown bread, light smoke/charcoal, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, espresso, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy, bready, silky, and lightly velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild chalky roast, hop stickiness, and dryness. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is a fantastic coffee oatmeal stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, espresso, and light earthy hop flavors; extremely smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Far less hoppy than I expected for Three Floyds. Extremely rich/intense nutty/fruity coffee with awesome balanced oatmeal stout malt complexity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
4.0Aroma of coffee, taste is chocolate, sweet, very smooth, would have again..
3.8Black pour with a tall, creamy mocha head. Aroma is loaded with coffee, roast, cocoa, molasses, toasted oats and roasted nuts, some toffee and a bit of lactose. Flavor is sweet roasted nuts, char, chocolate and somewhat bitter coffee right away, then toasted oats, over roasted almonds, lactose sweetness, dark caramel and just a hint of fruity dates. Medium body, creamy, slightly gloopy feel, light, but blanketing carbonation. Good stuff, maybe a bit oxidized at this point and the coffee has dulled from me leaving it sit so long, so I’ll give it a mercy tick or two, although it doesn’t really need it, its still quite good.
4.1Appearance: black; no head 1/2pint
Taste: hint of coffee& chocolate

4.3Tap at brewery in Munster during glbtq. Cola brown black with medium off white head. Sweet nose. Taste is creamy, chocolate, coffee, sugar. Like a dessert. The mouthfeel is amazing. Terrific.
3.5650 mL bottle. Black body. Smells of coffee, hefty sweet malt aroma, and a nice chocolate character. Tastes of mostly coffee. The coffee up front is roasty and bitter before blending in with a surprisingly bright sweetness. Roasted malt behind it combines with the coffee for just a bit of bitterness. Medium heavy. A touch too sweet for me, but it’s good.

Note: 6+/10

3.5Pours a medium black with a light brown head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of coffee, chocolate and no green pepper. Taste is of coffee and moderately sweet. Roasty and a little boozy. Body is medium-full and carbonation moderate. An OK almost imperial stout but not awe inspiring.

Taste is vegetal with coffee, lactose, chocolate and mild coffee bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Coffee and vegetal finish. A bit harsh. Decent Sweet Stout.
Not a fan.
3.5Bouteille.
3.82 ounces at tasting. Aroma: intense quality coffee, roasted malt, maybe light raisin. App: dark brown, minimal mocha head leaving good lacing even in this small small glass. Taste and palate: medium body, velvety, medium sweetness with moderate bitter finish. Overall: reminds me of some of Angry Chair beers by its sweetness. It’s sweet but not too much, at least for this small pour. Well done.
4.0On tap at Pazzo’s Pizza, Lexington, KY, 8.5.16. Black with a tan head. Lots of chocolate, porridge aroma. Dry, sweet with bitter undertones in the mouth, like good chocolate. Full body, long and creamy chocolate finish. Carbonated.
4.5on tap @ Hebron Brewhaus / Hebron KY --- Aroma of sweet malt and earthy bran. Opaque black color, beige head that takes its time reducing to a cover, lace cobwebs. Taste is rich, chewy malt with toffee and an earthy, autumn leaf overtone that floats through medium carbonation to light hops, and then a lingering biscuit and honey finish. Alcohol warmth shows in the end. Complex and balanced, highest recommendations.
3.7Bomber from the brewery, 5/6/16. Clear dark chestnut brown with a large foamy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, roasted malt. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, coffee grounds, clay, oatmeal, cherries. Medium bodied, lingering roast. A bit harsh, but solid overall.
