4.112 oz can. Pours a foggy bronzish orange gold with a robust white head. Citrus fruit dominates the nose. Goes down super smooth and leaves a little on the finish. Dry on the mouth but not in a bad way. A new addition to my favorites list
5.0A: golden yellow with thick lacy white head
A: cantelope melon, orange
T: medium bitter, no sweet, no sour
P: smooth medium body, moderate high carbonation, lasting smooth bitterness
O: Amazing Pale that goes down so easy
2.312 oz. can from Tops in Lewiston, NY. Pours a very cloudy dark gold color with an eggshell colored head and very good retention. Good lacing. Sharp hoppy aroma. Strong hoppy flavor but with low bitterness for 50 IBUs. Still too hoppy and bitter for me. Medium body. Not in my top 50. Tastes the same as every other hoppy APA.
3.9Brewed in a style that doesn’t ring my chime, I am still excited to try. I’ll say this, Three Floyd’s can put together a label. Pour into the favored globe glass to determine a dark orange, opaque liquid with a monstrous, pillowy head of off-white, very fine, bubbles. I smell an old school hit of pine, grass with some tropical lurking. I have a drink. Not life changing but certainly good. Pine resin, pineapple, some grapefruit, crackers and malt.An uplifting bitterness at the end. Decent but I’ll take a hop bomb most days.
4.316 oz draft pours an orange color with a small white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, resin. Medium bodied, incredibly complex and full, an amazing beer
3.8Tap, Sharkey’s Radford. Hazy amber. Decent head. Aroma of fruit and sweet malt. Doesn’t seem like a straight Citra beer to me …. Probably they’re not dry hopping as much or at all compared to other straight Citra beers I’ve had. Nice balance, a bit too sweet to have another, but in enjoying this one.
4.3Hazy copper appearance with big mango, pineapple apricot and citrus aroma. Tropic fruit tastes with minimal bitter hop presence. Finish is mildly sweet, carbonation is medium. Great stuff
3.8Medium head and lacing. Mild malt and hop aroma. Super easy to drink. Light bodied, not a ton of overwhelming flavors. Just a really solid, enjoyable beer
3.8Orange pour, big foamy white head. Character of caramel, grass, pine, taste has lots of great fruitiness too, peach, pineapple. Pretty good.
4.1Slightly sweet fruity (apricot) aroma. Some pine aromas as well. A fairly pronounced citrus bitterness on the finish. Nice crispness. A really excellent Pale Ale.
4.3Wow had this on tap, great hop pop balance and complexity at the same will be looking for this in stores 👌
4.3Compared to Odd Side CPA. Much more flavor and hop bite. $1 more per sixer. Just arrived in MI.
3.9Can (12oz). Hazy golden with big white head. Lots of citrus, mostly grape fruit. Medium plus body.
3.9Citrus hop aroma and flavor wit a full bodied balanced malty base beer. Flavorful and delicious. Smooth and juicy but some bitter to the finish. Nice mix of tropical and bitter hops.
3.4Amber with a creamy head. Resin aroma. Citrus. Perfume. Taste is bitter the whole way through. Not much of a malt profile. Feels a lot more like an IPA vs an APA. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Clean. Drinkable. Not much juiciness.
4.2Hazy orange with thick foamy beige head
Aroma is rich tea and grain
Flava is rich hoppy with spicy bitters grain
Feels medium to thick with nice fizzy zing
Finishes dry bitter tangy
4.412 oz can. Pours orange with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade and bready malt. Body is full and crisp. Herbal hops dominate the palate with bready malt, oranges and grapefruit in the background. Finish is long and dry. Delicious brew.
3.7First time sampling Three Floyds, as they never distributed to FL when I lived and grew up there. Restarted distribution to the Mid-Atlantic, so grabbed 6 of this and Lazorsnake. This is what I look for in a pale ale grain bill. Single hopped with Citra to give an orange citrus loaded flavor, but not super heavy like an IPA. Leans west coast vs a juicy style. Has a light gold to orange appearance. Will get again...or clone a homebrew recipe.
3.8Poured from 12 oz. can.
Lightly hazy, bright golden orange with a 2-finger off-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of citrus, vanilla and caramel.
Taste of bitter grapefruit, passion fruit, orange and sweet lemon.
Medium body and medium carbonation.
I like the play between the bitter grapefruit and the sweeter lemon and passion fruit.
3.9Excited about one! 12 oz can. Smells of citrus, citra hops. Bronze in color with haze. Quite nice APA, the balance is nice with the citra bringing in a bitter kick at the end. Finish is mildly bitter. Gets better as you drink it. Nice, smooth drinking pale ale. Wish it was readily available in the south!
4.0Not as special as I was hoping. Straight-forward IPA
4.012 oz
can from Trader Joe's in Short Pump, VA The can shows 6.5 ABV for the Undead Pale Ale. The ale pours a copper color with a white head and ample lacing. The aroma of grapefruit rind and pine resin. The taste has a more dominant pine resin and bitter grapefruit rind. For an American pale ale, this one is best in class. Sierra Nevada Pale ale is in this class. The ale has a medium body and average carbonation. Lingering hop bitterness after each swallow.
4.1Orange, grapefruit, and passionfruit notes complemented with a slight malt backbone.
3.412 ounce can gift pours a frothy orange with creamy head. Pine/citrus aroma upfront. Nice smooth balance of hops and malt! Ladders nicely with long lasting head. Nice! Prosit!
3.5Yellow amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of vanilla, hop oils. Taste has full bodied malt, more vanilla bean, some more vague tropical notes. Palate has fairly basic malt and lingering resin. Good.
4.0(can 0,355l from online shop americanbeer.cz) Overall: Well hopped, nice hops showcase, well balanced. Very good example of classic style APA.
Aroma: Pure clean hops, classic citrusy.
Appearance: Hazy golden color. Persistent, white head.
Taste: Medium sweet, malty, citrusy hoppy, orange, light pure hops, medium bitter.
Palate: Medium body. Citrusy, light bitter finish.
4.0a typical three Floyds brew which is typically great. Powerful flavors of hop, fruit and citrus fruit with some nice broom straw, caramel, toasted or roasted or smoked. Balanced or less so like here to invite intrigue. Some dryness and competing sugar and a chewy frothy body.
3.50,33l plechovka zakoupená přes český eshop americanbeer.cz. Nadprůměrný dobře pitelný pale ale bez jakýchkoliv chyb. Ale na rok 2021? A hodnocení 4.26? Nejlepší pivo ve stylu? Proboha! Nuda! Asi něco jako je Vykoupení z věznice Shawshank oblíbený film půlky lidí co se zeptáte, 94% na ČSFD, ale reálně u toho polovina lidí usnula v polovině. Ano, tohle je toto pivo.
5.0To me, it's much like Alpha King without as much hop kick (which one would guess from the advertised 50 IBU). The low IBU makes this quite drinkable, and yet the beer doesn't become at all sweet--it's still quite dry. While I'd rather grab an Alpha King, this is quite the great pale ale. Perfect, as far as I can tell, in fact.
4.5Can. Light to moderate roasted grain and caramel for the malt, moderate orange peel for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with pepper and light dried fruits in the background. Head is average sized, frothy, slightly off-white, and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy medium to dark amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and a crisp finish. Top notch APA, full of hops and clean easy drinking.
