3.5 Vraiment surprenante et intéressante. Notes de pêche, abricot, fruits confits. A réessayer
3.5 Bottle shared with the folks in that new craft brew bar in Budapest. It was nice gazing at the beermat wallpaper in that place. Pours Reddish Brown with a cream head. Caramel and Rye. A bit of yeasty banana. Banana and pepper. Very nice.
3.3 Brown color with a big creamy beige head. Aroma is bread, cereals. Taste is again breadish, some esthers, a bit acidic, dry. Some spicy notes too. Not bad, good beer.
3.8 500ml bottle. Pours deep mahogany brown with thin white head. Sweet vanilla / banana / yeast esters, slick berries and vanilla in the taste. Delicious smooth-drinking roggen.
4.0 clear dark brown with a fine, tall head. nice aroma of rye bread, caramel and hints of citrus. well-balanced taste. good finish.
3.1 500ml bottle [a noble donation by bartlebrye, thank you very much]. Clear mahogany colour with average, thick, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Earthy rye aroma, cautious fruity overtones with a touch of dark berries, mild spiciness. Taste is slightly fruity, hints of dark berries, slightly spicy rye basis, hoppy overtones with mild bitterness.
3.2 500ml bottle. Pours chestnut with fast diminishing head. Quite sweet alt style start, some rye malt, dark berry, little booze. OK.
3.5 Bottled, Cesky Brod, CZ, Malt, caramel, some wheat, dough and fruity aroma, Hazy amber color, bigger lacing head, Sweet taste, sour notes, longer finish, Medium body, Soft carbon, Interesting one.
3.3 Karamell és füst alig, őszibarack ok. Itatja magát. Aroma: vizes, de nem zavaró. Erősen gyöngyöző, borostyánbarna, alig habzik. Medium sweetness, semi-medium bitterness, lightly sour, alig érződik a komló.
3.1 Bottle. Color dark clear amber with huge head. Aroma bread, spicy, fruits. Taste bread, spicy, banana, dry, acid.
2.7 50cl bottle bb06/2015, Maruhn. Finally purchased this going by MJ’s and many other "classic beers" lists. Since the Master’s scouting apparently re-redubbed "Th&T" instead of Paulaner Roggen, after the closing of the brewery and now brewed directly by Paulaner, distributed by "Fürstliche Brauerei Th. u T. Vertriebsgesellschaft". - - Pours like a very dark amber Dunkelweizen. Aroma of dank wheat, cooked rhubarb compote, strawberry quark. Taste reminds me of Schlenkerla Weizen: soggy wheat fruits, lots of gummy, quark sourness and rye spice, plus indeed some smokey ash. Dryish fruity finish, bit like a rye bourbon. Not the most easy drinker, but characteristic enough.
3.1 Bottle at home courtesy of mcTapps, cheers Sabine! hazy chestnut amber with sweet biscuit and red apple aroma. Moderate body, fruity, brief finish
3.7 My Bottom Line: This silky Roggenbier presents plenty of banana esters in a polished mouthfeel, while rye spiciness slowly installs itself onto the palate. Further Personal Perceptions: -A sheet of foam covers the deep mahogany with gorgeous orange highlights. -This may not be complex, but it clearly achieves what it sets out to achieve. -All flavors are clearly defined and harmonious. -Rye and prominent esters give an impression of heaviness soon enough. Bottle.
3.3 Pff the specialty grain category on RB should die. Anyway, about rue beer, it’s brown bodied with a surprisingly unstable head. Bit ugly. Toasty aroma, light rye bread, not so sweet at all, hopless mostly and with German yeast (dark banana and clove). Quite heavy body when drank cold, watery but somehow heavy on the stomach. Very light aftertaste, too bit carbonation. Bit disappointing tbh. (50cl bottle from Saveur Bière)
3.6 Bottle Aroma-fruits, malt Appearance-dark amber, clear, white foam, Taste-medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, Palate-medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, long finish, Overall-very good
3.1 Butelka 0.5L. Całość: Dość ciężkie piwo, słodkie, gęste, spore wysycenie, trudno całość wypić choć aromat przyjemny i pozbawiony wad.
3.2 .5 litre bottle: BBD 25th June 2014, drank the night before at home. Was not sure what to pour it into, so chose a huge ’Judas’ glass, just because I haven’t used it for a while. Looked lovely in the glass, a misty chestnut body with a full and lasting cream coloured head. The nose a malty, grainy mix with a sweet and sour, vanilla, dandelion & burdock type esters. The taste was also a strange mixture of flavours, like the aroma: dandelion & burdock again came to mind in the mouth, as in the nose. Different and interesting, not sure I could drink two in a row though, one half-litre being enough for one sitting. Well carbonated and lively, it tested my senses
3.1 Vöröses színe igazán magával ragadó látványt nyújt, illata azonban némiképp zárkózottabb, idő kell neki, hogy bontakozni kezdjen. Ekkor azonban gabonás, édeskés, a búzasörökre jellemző illatot áraszt magából.
3.2 Aroma: banana, malty and earthy notes. Appearance: nice amber color, poor beige head. Taste: low bitterness, earthy, some sweetness and slightly sour, dark malts. Palate: low body and low carbonation. Overall: Quite suspicious beer. There are some roggen notes, but still this beer is at most average.
3.9 Bottle. Cloudy amber-brown, small beige head. Aromas of fruits, bread and yeast. The taste is sour and dry. Fizzy carbonation, decent mouth feel. Finishes pleasant and unconventional, tastes of roasted malt, bread and rye. Nice one!
Test vom 25.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,12,12,12,12,12 - 12,00
3.3 flasche. deep orange to red color. Near bright clarity. Off white head. Iniviting pepper aroma. A faint bit of hops, full and creamy. Hint of banana. Truly complex
3.1 50cl bottle, picked up at Rudat in Dortmund, pours with a clear amber body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma is a mix of booze and fruity esters like pears, apples and plums. The taste has the same notes plus a pleasing caramel note that helps things out some. I get red apples, pears and prunes starting out and then thin ribbons of sweets malt, caramel malts and then a spicy cola sensation take this toward the finish. Ok.
3.2 Bottle@home, 50cl. Head: beige foam. Colour: hazy, amber. Aroma: fruity, hops, spicy, some smoked. Taste: medium bitter-sweet, Palate: refreshing, medium bitter-sweet body, medium CO2. Overall; nice
3.4 A mid to dark orange brown coloured beer with a frothy but weak off white head. A light wheat beer aroma of sweet tropical fruit, banana and pineapple is matched by a cereal aroma. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off quite sour, and a touch yeasty, but this soon disappears to allow the mellow, sweet tropical fruit and dry cereal rye flavours to come through, the rye lingers longest into the finish.
3.6 Appearance: Light hazy deep nutty brown color with a off white head that leaves a some lacing. Aroma: Wheat, malty, banana and mild fruity. Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Taste: Balanced and mild wheat, a bit to dominating malty flavor. Banana and fruity notes. Overall impression: Nice roggen beer. Personal stats: Bottle from Haxen Kiraly Etterem in Budapest, Hungary
