4.3 Big, complex lactic sour and blackberry aroma and flavor. Has an oaky complexity to the aroma and flavor. Sour maybe 6 of 10. Very sour, but just enough to be pucker sour but not overpowering. Seems like a lighter base beer but still full bodied and full flavored. Really nice beer.
3.7 11-9-21 Grand Liquor
4.3 Yeasty funk festival on the nose, with barnyard, horse-sweat, berries. Fruity and estery. Pours light copper with a pink/red hue. There is a fizzy head after the pour, which dissipates quickly. No laces. Taste sour, fruity and funky. Notes of dried apple and blackberry, with yeasty funk aromas. Beautiful, not too acidic. Light bodied and well carbonated, easy to drink in its elegance. Excellent lambic beer, perfectly balanced in any of its aspects.
3.7 Bottle pour at St Gambrinus. Pours bright orangey pink. Funk, berry, manure, raspberry vinegar, earthy berry, blackberry, blackcurrant. Medium body. Decent.
3.9 Redish amber with small white head. Sour aroma. Good fruity sourness with some bitter notes.
3.5 37,5 cl bottle, 4 years old. Hazy ruby color, with no head, nothing at all. Nose of a gueuze, musky, vinous. Taste too, sulphur, vinous character. Low carbonation. As expected, almost no fruitiness remained after 4 years, but still an enjoyable lambic, nice actually.
4.6 25-03-2021 @mas_ibus Torrelavega Color púrpura. Aroma afrutado a mora. Sabor a cítricos, limón y mora.
4.1 375ml corked bottle from indiebeer.co.uk. I had this several weeks ago but forgot to put it on rb for some reason. Hazy reddish amber colour + small white head. Big funk / barnyard, funky blackberry, Brett, wood barrel, acidic, vinegar funk, yoghurt funk. Unsurprisingly great, can't go wrong with these Tilquin fruit Lambics
4.2 Bottle @ Home. Slightly hazed reddish-orange beer with a white head. Blackberry, lime, lemon, and leather up front. A decent amount of oak, too. Some nice earthy and library book funk. Very dry and has a nice lively carbonation and full mouthfeel. Some nice grass and straw notes along with tannic fruit soon. Really nice beer.
3.5 Bottle. A- Blackberry, oak. A- Burnt orange color, clear liquid, no head. T- Blackberry, oak, tart. P- Light body, average texture, flat carbonation, balanced finish. O- I was surprised at the amount of blackberry. Not sweet or too fruity though. Also not much funk or acidity. At 5 years old, I wasn't sure how this would be. A bit more carbonation would've been nice. Felt a bit too much like a chardonnay.
4.1 37,5cl bottle (6%, 260 gr of blackberries by liter, 2018-2019) from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: thin, egg-white, not long lasting. C: pinky red, hazy. A: sour fruity, lemon, woody, blackberries, barnyard, brett, redcurrants. T: nice refreshing sour fruity, woody, blackberries, barnyard, green plums, bit sour apples, lemon, yoghurt, soft carbonation, very nice balanced, fully enjoyed.
3.9 Pours a clear, pale purple coloration with a small, fluffy head that fades away quickly. Smells of light doughy malt, with some tart blackberries, funk and hints of tannic oak coming through. Taste is a great balance of light doughy malt, a good, rather tart blackberry presence, some lighter fruity esters of cherry and apple, as well as some blue cheese funk and hints of musty oak. Finishes quite dry, with a medium/strong tartness and some blackberry, cherry and funky, oaky accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth, effervescent mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. This makes for a very nice Lambic and I think it's quite interesting that they chose blackberries for their regular range here, instead of the more popular raspberries. It seems to give a bit more a dry and earthy character to this, with very little sweetness coming through, which also goes well with the musty funk and oak notes here. There's quite a nice balance of fruitiness and lighter acidity and funk to this, with that dryness really being quite distinct and the musty, slightly tannic oak accents rounding things out nicely. Definitely my favorite of their regular range, with a beautiful coloration and intoxicating aroma as well, although it kind of develops a somewhat excessive, lemoney acidity as it warms, similarily to their Oude Quetsche, which doesn't seem quite as bad though.
4.3 hazy pinkish-brownish-red colour, minimal pinkish off-white head; aroma of balsamic acid, acetone, unripe blackberry, lemony and earthy-wine cellary notes; taste is quite similar to the aroma; great one!
4.5 Belle acidité et beau fruit. A garder pour cellier
3.7 CLoudy, bright golden color and a tiny white head. Very nice lambic with a dry-tart finish
4.0 Lekker zuurtje omring door een boeket van hemels fruit
3.8 37,5 cl fles. (2017-2018) 6% op het etiket. Troebel oudroze kleurig bier met een weinig wit schuim. Geur: pitten, zuur, rode bessen confituur, zure appel, hout. Smaak: zuur, wat tannine, azijnzuur, citrus. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: zuur, rood fruit toets.
4.3 Bottle shared at yorkie panzio. Reddish pink colour white lacing. Nose is berries, sourness, bretty notes. Taste is berries, light apple. Dry mouthfeel.
3.6 Bouteille: Almost clear, coloured like pink champagne, some bubbles visible, moderate to solid sour aroma of ripe fruits, accompanied by the usual spicy nose of malic vinegar and mild cellary traces, mild sweetness underneath; moderate dry sour flavour with a certain tartness, medium bodied; mild burn of malic vinegar in the fruity, sour and mildly sweetish finish. Well balanced, nearly moreish stuff...
3.6 Very nice smell of fermented lambic, with strong cherry notes Hazy red colour with little to no head Distinct lambic taste with cherries and flower notes Watery texture with very little carbonation
3.6 [10964-20180929] Tap. Sour toasted yeasty grains aroma. Hazy, pink red body with no lasting head. Super soured fruity yeast grains flavour. Medium body is quite sour. Interesting. (7/3-/7/4/15) 3.6 (Zwanze Day 2018 @ Birreria Volo, Toronto, ON)
3.5 Aroma; fruits, berries, acids, dough, tart malt. Look; big off-white head on silky mahogany body. Taste; berries, fruit acids, hops, juicy malts, and leading to a tart malted finish. Feel; ok body n co². Overall; nice. [čištění garáže, lahvové pivo, koup@německém obchodě]
4.3 [2018-2019] 375ml bottle. Hazy reddish orange with a ring of off-white foam. Flavors are hay, grass, lemon, blackberry, oak and funk with mineral notes. Light to medium body, good carbonation, slick texture.
3.5 37.5cl bottle at home, season '16-'17. Cork came off without a pop. Appearance: pours amber with no head. Aroma: funky brett, lemon, some green apple, horseblanket. not much of the blackberries noticable. Taste: medium sweetness, low bitterness and intense tartness. Notes of brett, lemon, some fruitiness, but no distinct berry notes, some horse blanket and old leaves. Palate: medium bodied, watery texture and flat carbonation. Overall: Maybe storing wasn't the best idea, because there is barely any fruitiness left.
3.5 [Tasting - Beder] [Vintage - 2018-19] Aroma: Mild sweetness, apple, lemon and a refreshing sourness Appearance: Hazy red with a small fast disappearing head Taste: Mild sweetness and moderately acidic with a sour grapefruit and lemon taste Mouthfeel: Watery texture with moderate carbonation Overall: Can't really taste the black berries :)
4.2 Bottle. Poured a orange / copperish color with a thin sized head. Blackberries, tart fruits, and subtle yet not and just all around very enjoyable.
4.6 Delicious blackberry notes, sharp as a recent vintage 2018:2019. Lovely spike of acidity and fruits. Would love to hold bottle back for a few years. Drunk in as couldn’t resist whilst on trip at Hop Hideout.
4.1 Clear plum with a white head. Aroma is sulfur, leather, berries, lemon and bubblegum. Taste is medium sour, light bitter and light sweet.
3.8 Red with thin bubbly head. Aroma slightly tart and full of blackberries, as is the taste. Thick mouthfeel. Good if not the most complex example of the genre.
