Tilquin Quetsche - Draft Version 5.3%

Tilquin Quetsche - Draft Version 5.3%

The Quetsche Tilquin - Draft Version (5.3%) is a lighter version of the Oude Questche Tilquin à l’ancienne. Same recipe as the Oude Questche Tilquin à l’ancienne with 250 gr fresh plums per liter, but lighter in alcohol, due to the use of a blend of 50% of Meerts (March Lambic) and 50% of 1 and 2 years old lambics. This beer is refermented in the keg.

3.9 Tap @ Konttori. Pours rose hip color with a small white head. Tart fruity aroma, rowan berries, earthy notes, citrus. Flavor is quite tart and citric, mouthwatering grapefruit-y, gooseberries, some wooden notes on the finish. Nice.
3.7 Deep orange pour, small white head. Great aroma of spiciness, barnyard, grain, nectar. Taste follows, surprisingly spicy, like rye.

4.0 Hazy orange color with quite small off-white head. Aroma has sour cherries, white berries and hint of vinegar. Taste is fruity with long sour and dry aftertaste. Flavors of sour berries, grapes and some dry apple juice. Tasty one.
4.0 (Keg at Pikkulintu Kontula, 20210805) The beer poured deep orange and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had tartness, sourness, plums and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, tartness, wood, fruitiness, plums, malts and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, soft and bitter. A delicious tart brew with good drinkability.
4.1 Draught at Tip Tap Room, 7/29/21. Bright, clear, strawberry-golden with a small ring of bubbles atop. Brilliantly fruity nose is authentic and integrated nicely with lush Brett and light lactic acidity. Not intensely funky with quite a bit of fruit at this stage, but still lets you know it's a real lambic. No cheap/punchy acidity nor any abundance of sugar. No alcohol or flaw noted. Strong minerality. In the mouth it's quite malty/substantially-textured (perhaps wheat-heavy). Fruit sugars are well-attenuated but light sweetness remains to gently add balance to the Brett and lacto character. Plum skin, light barnyard and a dollop of honey on the finish with long-lingering acidity. Lovely and elegant, of course.
3.7 On tap at Ambasada Zagreb. Hazy orange coloured, medium sized white head, lemon and plum in the nose. Fruity, lemony, light plum, barnyard and mild brett with moderate tart finish.
3.7 5oz pour at Max's Brussels Fest 2021, pours a murky, blood orange with no head. Nose is funky berry patch, medicine cabinet, dandelions, onion. Flavor is nice, well balanced, tart with pomegranate vinegar, raw strawberry, some neutral oak, sweet tarts, a little spritzy Aperol. Finishes with high carbonation, medium acid and dry.
4.0 Unclear golden appearance with pink hues and a beige head. Aroma of sour fruit, barnyard funk, mild earthy grains, light oak and a light zesty spice. Similar flavor, fruity, funky and earthy with mild to moderate acidity and a light fruity sweetness. Light mouthfeel with a slight dry finish. Nice.
3.5 Draft. An unclear pink beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of fruit, brett, funk, and malt. The flavor is sour with notes of lemons, brett, funk, plums, and malt, leading to a tart finish.
4.3 Fad.
3.7 [Draught at Birreria Volo] Pours an orange-peach colour with a small diminishing frothy white head. Nice tart fruity aroma of plums and other fruit (7+). Lovely fruity flavour, easy to drink, not very sour. (7+) Medium bodied. Pretty nice.
3.4 Niekoniecznie. Pite po wyrazistym, wysmienitym gueuze nie robi takiego wrazenia, owoc jakis scisnięty, kminkowy posmak zamiast śliwki.

4.1 Draught. Pours hazy pinkish orange with a large, tight bubbled off-white head, long retention. Moderate acidic raspberries and cherries, light bread malt, funky yeast character, light tannins seemingly of grape skins, and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation.
4.0 Very nice stuff. Comes on with big grapefruit and finishes with sour plum. Nice twist of citrus zest. Golden slightly orange pour with ok head. Tangy fruity end. Tap at Dirty Truth.

3.7 Draught at The Crow Inn, Sheffield. Clouded peach colour with white head. This proved to be a heavily fruited beer, damson, plums along with a slightly soured strawberry flavour. Tangy, sharp acidic in character. There is a grape wine like flavour in the close. Very pleasant.
