2.8A bad gueuze. Pours a light hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is a bit promising with tart acetic aromas and earthy, musty notes. Flat and musty in the profile with a dry astringent finish. Overall, disappointing.
2.4One of the so-called ’capsulekensgeuzes’, the industrial, sweetened and compromized interpretation of a great style; like its congeners, this reminds very little of actual lambic. Clear golden blonde colour, off-white head, sweet aroma, a bit sugary, sourish touch, apple, smooth and somewhat thin mouthfeel, sweet with a lemony acidic touch but none of the lambic funkiness. Completely redundant.
2.7Bottle from Nissa, Hebden Bridge. Golden, no head. Has a light carbonation but feels more active than this in the palate. Its sweet taste (and texture to an extent) makes it feel somewhere between a cider and a white wine, with apples certainly involved here. Quite sour in its finish though.
2.8Bottle at home. Pours clear dark golden with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of faro like sweetness, some fruitiness, candy and light mouldy and dusty notes. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate acidic. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.
2.7bottle shared by/with friends. pours clear bright yellow with a small white cap showing minimal retention and lacing. sweet pils, fruitiness - sweetneed apple juice and white grape juice, light lactic acidity, old grassiness, honey and plain sugar sweetness, pepper. not much else. average carbonation, light body - oily, bland herbal-grassy finish. blah.
2.9Bottle 375ml.
Pours golden with very low white head. Minimal to no lacing. Aroma is of caramel, candi sugar, metal. Taste is of candi sugar, very slight acidity. Palate: Medium body. Low carbonation. Overall: Not too good. Sweet. No complexity.
3.2Bottle shared by JulienHuxley, thanks a lot! Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of sour hay, some green apples and apricots. Taste is lightly sweet, offers more granny smith and is moderately tart. Body is light to medium and carbonation medium to high. Finishes pretty dry so it is not too bad. Overall, yes it is a bit sweet but I at least didn’t despise it as much as my other tasting partners. It is not as bad as let’s say St-Louis Gueuze when it comes to sweetened gueuzes.
2.6Bottle (375 ml). Shared by JulienHuxley, thanks! Clear golden/amber with a small white head and little lacing. Aroma is sweet with light raisins, caramel, grains... no funk here. Taste is sweet with raisins, caramel and apples. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Pretty bad sweetened gueuze.
2.6Bottle. Clear gold pour with white head. Aroma of sweetened lambic, old apples, dusty. Taste is sweet, apple, light grainy notes. Palate is med-light bodied, light carbonation. Pretty bad.
3.8Una lambic dal forte sapore di limone? Acida quanto basta, ti ripulisce bene il palato!
2.4A lambic for starters. It has some sourness and tardiness, but not nearly as much as a real lambic beer. This is boring and watery, especially if you like the real thing.
3.1at my home golden blonde colored body with a white head and a sour fruity hop aroma a sour fruity little sweet taste with a bitter finish
3.1Bona cervesa, equilibrada i gustosa.
Buena cerveza, equilibrada y sabrosa.
2.9A clear yellow / orange beer with a small white head. First thing I notice is there’s no "plop" when removing the cork, the beer is low on carbonation. Taste is at first quite sweet, too sweet for this type of beer. Luckily it finishes more sour and dry.
3.1Bottled in 2012. 375ml Bottle from Saveur Biere in April 2014. Fresh Lambick (only two years ago). Chyba jedno ze slabszych guze jakie degustowalem. Niby tradycyjne, korkowane, a etykieta nawiazuje do tradycji.
Test vom 29.7.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,5,10,5,12,6 - 7,20
3.0Somewhat unclear orange amber appearance, with a bubbly white head. Gueuze with a lot of apple which is a lot sweeter than it is sour. It’s more like an apple cider. Thirsty quenching enough, but poor as a gueuze. Carbo is too low.
3.8At kulminator
Pours bit fuzzy yellow , small white head
Smell is dusty , apples
Rather high carbo . Sour , apples , seeetness ( sugar ?)
Ok ..
4.7An impressive traditionally brewed Gueuze Lambic by, they say, the world’s oldest lambic brewery. Right balance of sourness, authentic taste - a very surprising product indeed; what a surprise!. spontaneous fermentation all right, the authentic way.
3.624 karat pour with deeper hues of copper at its core and a small ivory cap. Sweeter than expected but still showed some traditional funk, mustiness, barnyard, hay, acidity, and sourness. Drinkable but not overly complex.
3.337.5 cl bottle from ABC Leuven. Rather decent gueuze-like nose, horse blanket, lemon rest, leather, dust. Not big time, but definitely it’s the main element. A touch of caramel malt beneath. Orange-gold, clear, with a high, fine head. Quite sweet, but with a nice sour tang as well, candi / brown sugar, some leather. Lambic character still there but a bit muted by the sweetness. Lemon, green apple, caramel. Not great, but possibly the best sweetened gueuze I can remember drinking. Soft but persistent carbonation. Decent. Refreshing.
3.3Bottle, corked and caged, 375 ml, poured into a tulip glass at home. ABV 5%
Golden orange colour on the body, one finger og white, froathy head on top. Low retention for the most part, leaves foam islands on the beer’s surface. Tiny bubbles are making their way upwards.
Fruity aroma, white grapes, a bit of sweet caramel, lots of sugar.
Good taste, biting sourness at first, finishes with a nicely balanced taste between sour and sweet. Wine-y, white sour grapes., not so much sugar as I expected form the aroma.
Medium thin body, fizzy carbonation. Very dry palate.
Pretty okay gueuze.
3.537,5 cl flaske, 5 %, købt i Den Belgiske Ølbutik, 23. august 2013.
3.2Bottle split at JF’s, cheers James, 17/08/13.
Lightly hazed golden with a thin off white swirl and edgeing.
Nose is lemon rind, damp wood, touch musty, sugars, light oxidised notes.
Taste is soured citric fruits, lemon rind, wood, earthy, light funk.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish.
Adequate gueze, light sour notes, could do with a bit more oomph on the tarteometer!
3.337,5cl bottle in good company. Pours a copper colour with a thin white head. Fruity and sour aroma. Medium Carbonation. The flavour starts light bitter, turning to a sweet and sour combination that is quite good. Dry and acid aftertaste.
3.4Delightful smell - musky wood, apple, vinegar, etc. Mid gold colour with a touch of apple juice. Not massively dry or sour, might be a bit sweet and easy going for some but actually still very nice.
3.0Bottle in Draft House Northcote. Nose is sweaty feet, sour apples, sour lemon, cheesiness, burnt caramel. Taste is an odd mixture. Sweet yet sour, cheesiness, apple sour, lemon, farmyard, white wine vinegar. The balance is a bit all over the place. Too many things working against it. Not enough lip pucking sourness. Lacks smoothness, lacks balance.
2.9Bottle from Sourfest. Light amber pour with a white head. Light yeast funk and lemon with noticeable sweetness. Same throughout the flavor. Much better ones out there.
3.2Bottle 37,5 cl, BBE 18.06.2014. Pours clear golden in color with a fluffy white head. Sweet apple in
aroma, some light barnyard as well. Sweet ripe apple in taste with some sweet sugary notes. A bit like a
lambic-faro in a way. Some burnt grainh notes too in aftertaste. Quite soft mouthfeel, missing the
aggressiveness there should be in a gueuze.
3.3A very light tasting limbic. Not very funky or sour. Though has a nice apple like flovour.
