2.2 500ml bottle. Pours a clear copper/red with white head. Moderate hoppy aroma. Flavour is mostly old school bitter hops over a medium malt base. Probably a reasonable old style bitter but i admit to preferring a more modern style of fruity hops. This is just rather ordinary with too much bitter & not nearly enough fruity hop flavours.
3.1 Traditional north of England bitter. Balance of malt and bitterness. Easy drinking and transfers well into the bottle as I usually prefer bitter direct from the keg.
3.7 Bottle. Brownish amber with a doming 2cm off white head. Malty - even slightly roasty aroma - with toast, peach, marmalade. So it tastes, with stinging bitterness at the end. Engaging enough with fine balance. Deeply refreshing.
3.4 500ml bottle. Pours copper, small head, good retention. No huge aromas but getting bread, caramel, a little roasted malt. Taste is bready malts, orange, tea, moderate sweetness. Moderate body and carbonation. Nice bitterness in the finish with a zesty tang. Not wowed but its a well balanced bitter.
3.9 From bottle. Copper color. Aroma of roasted and caramelized malt. Decent Mild bitterness with slight sweetness.
4.4 Many thanks for this Traditional Ale to dantomlinson.
3.3 Clear copper appearance. Aroma is malt and caramel. Flavour is malt, caramel, bitter and hops.
2.7 Si presenta ambrata, limpida. Poca schiuma e poco persistente. Frizzantezza media, con bollicine molto piccole. Speziata al naso. In bocca tendenzialmente amara, resina, un po' troppo ferruginosa.
3.7 Aroma: The malty/yeasty smells you would expect from a bitter with a higher level of hop smell than most Appearance: Bronze/copper colour with medium head Taste: On the easy drinking side for a bitter ale, lacking a bit of complexity but what's there is nice, a classic bitter taste with somewhat of an orangey note Mouthfeel: On the lighter side for an ale with strong tickling carbonation Overall: A decent, strong-tasting session ale. It's far ahead of many in its price range and is a local brew to me, which is a plus. 3.7/5
3.2 Bottiglia.
3.9 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.2%. Decent-sized OK-duration head. Dark copper colour. Classic yeasty bitter aroma, hint of bread. Moderate carbonation. Slight orange citrus hops, possible slight berry fruitiness, but primarily classic yeasty pub bitter - compare/contrast Butty Bach, however this is filtered and yet also more sessionable. Nicely bitter bitter, hints of stewed tea in taste and appearance, with some brown-bread crust malt in there for slight balancing sweetness (and a hint of caramel?). Straightforward but definitely gets the job done. Well-executed textbook bitter, nice dryness and thickness.
3.2 Bottle. Golden,, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light - some caramel and light floral fruitiness, light grassy hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and flight floral ruitiness, light grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, light caramel and floralfruitiness, light - some grassy hoppyness. Bitter with floral fruitiness and caramel. OK but nothing special.
3.6 Bottle from trade with Dantomlinson, many thnks, man. Amber color with thick off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, light yeast. Taste, malt, caramel, light herbal, grassy hops, bit harsh strange bitterness in finish. Otherwise good bitter.
3.5 Bottle with the Ratebeer München group, at Jonas's, Garching, Tuesday 26th November 2019. Pours amber with a chill haze, good bitterness, good solid earthy and rustic aroma, taste is great, solid beer and has really stood out well tonight.
3.4 Crystal clear brownish gold. Smooth caramel nose. Bready yeast start fading smoothly to a bitter earthy finish.
3.6 Bottle, many thanks dantomlinson! Clear red-orange color with white head. Aroma is red fruits, some fudge, slightly buttery, nice classic Ale flavour, a bit more hopped though. Taste is toffee malts, herbal-earthy, grassy, quite a bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation.
3.4 Clear brown. Aroma is rural earthy with very dry chocolate coffee filter and grandmas curtain. Taste is chewy curtain with bitter and strong base. Phew. Quite a thing.
3.5 Bottle. Amber, low offwhite head. Dusty earthy hops, berries, Medium light fruity mody, light roast, a bit pepperfruit, honey, roast, pleasant minerals, jam, pleasant.
3.7 Butelka 500ml. Ciemny bursztynowy a nawet miedziany kolor. Piana bardzo obfita o białym kolorze i drobnych pecherzach, opada powoli zdobiąc szkło. W aromacie dużo słodu ,lekki chmiel, zioła,tosty ,ciastka, karmel,liście herbaty. W smaku ponownie słód,więcej tostów i ciastek,skórka chlebowa, czerwone jagody. Małe wysycenie i fajna goryczka na finiszu.
3.6 Thanks dantomlinson for sharing! Clear copper body with a minimal, medium lasting white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, red fruits. Well balanced taste: malty base with a subtle and pleasant hoppy profile. Fruity finish. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture.
3.6 Tried this after the Timothy Taylors Landlord and was probably expecting it to be as good, but did not match my high expectation, still great example of the Bitter style 7/10
3.5 Rocky off white head stayed on a translucent dark copper coloured still body. Hoppy aroma with berry, spices & tea. Medium bodied, sharp 9n the tongue with smooth clean finish. Bitter tangy tastes of berry, stone fruit, spices, pine & tea. Nice one!
4.0 500ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of malts, bread, biscuits, spices, dark fruits and some floral notes. Taste of spices, malts, toffee, biscuits, dark fruits and a hint of wood. Lasting grassy/herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Nice mouthfeel. Wonderfully balanced. Overall a very well made, lovely tasting traditional bitter. There is just something about Timothy Taylor's that takes their ales a few notches above most other traditional English ales.
3.0 Bottle from Asda. Copper coloured bitter, with plenty of caramel sweetness, a touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. Fine.
3.1 500ml bottle from Asda. Clear amber with a decent white head. Aroma is toffee and apricot, flavour is broadly similar with a hint of spice. Not bad
2.8 Pleasant aroma reminiscent of grapefruit on opening. Pours dark amber with a very large head. Fairly fizzy beer. Slight bready aroma. Some dark fruit flavour. Strong bitterness. Grassy aftertaste. A bit too bitter for my liking.
3.0 Siirappimakea, maltainen.
3.3 Bottle, 50cl, bought @ Kvickly, Middelfart. Pours clear dark golden amber with a small, staying creamy off-white head. Aroma has crisp malts, bready, some biscuity bite. Grassy hops. Medium carbonation, fine dry and fairly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has toffee, bready malts, quite heavy bitterness, grassy. Fine.
Oh my God ! :(
