Tiny Rebel Cwtch

Tiny Rebel Cwtch

Welsh Red Ale

Probably the best word ever. Cwtch (rhymes with butch) can mean either cuddle or cubbyhole. Grab a glass, relax and cwtch up with this untraditional Welsh red ale - a perfect blend of six caramelly malts and three citrussy American hops.

It isn’t your average bitter - the hops do more to this deep amber coloured beer than just provide bite. Any old hop can do that! We’ve selected some of the most aromatic and tangy hops from the other side of the pond to give this red a fresh hit that complements the caramel flavours of the malts that gives this beer its colour. Drinkability and balance makes this beer.

We love a good Cwtch, and we’re not the only ones…

4.2 Clear reddish colour with white head. Smell of wild berries and barley. Taste is well-balanced with barley, wheat, wild berries and very smooth. An all-night er if you find this one at your local pub. Tasted at home, gift from my wife at 4th advent.
3.6 33 cl can. Clear amber colour with a creamy dense off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, caramel malts and a toasted note. Taste is bitter. Medium bodied. Dry and bitter finish with citrus fruit and caramel malts. Very tasty and fresh, could easily flush down a lot of these.
4.1 Tiny Rebel Cwtch Welsh Red Ale 4.6%. Hazy reddish Amber, citrus, straw, coriander aroma, light caramel malt, biscuit, citrus fruits, grapefruit, complex flavours with a dry bitter finish. Gorgeous Red Ale from Rogerstone, Gwent 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
3.1 Aroma : Rich toffee maltiness, hoppy red autumnal fruits and a subtle mulched leafiness. Taste : Looks medium bodied but mouthfeel is quite thin. Moderate bitter dark fruits hoppiness upfront. Overriding taste though is the malty toffee. Has a little typical 'red ale' astringent note in the lingering finish. Better than most I've tried in this style!
3.6 Rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit grobporiger weißer Schaumkrone. Röstmalziger, hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, röstmalzig, etwas Toffee, hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
3.7 cheers .
Rot-braunes Bier, grober Schaum. Bitterer Röstmalzduft mit einer guten Portion Toffee und Hopfen . In Franken wär‘s ein Altfränkisch 😜 Antrunk grüner Kaffe, zartes Röstmalz, Hopfen. Mir gefällt das leicht kratzige im Abgang. Vollmundig mit Charakter. Sehr gut.
3.2 Enjoyed: Poured from can into English pint tulip glass. Appearance: Blurry pale brown/caramel colour, creamy rich head which soon fades with nice lacing. Aroma: Tropic fruits, malt, pine, caramel. Palate: Medium body, gentle carbonation. Taste: Tropic fruits, malt, bittersweet, caramel. Overall impression: Quite good, drinkable, but still nothing remarkable. It’s a pity that aroma isn’t stronger.
3.0 Lockdown March 2021. The day Myles had a wild boar hotdog on the Shore, while I had my egg roll... 500ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from BeerHawk. Yea. Tasty beer. I'm OK with this. It sort of sits between a traditional beer and a modern craft beer. Likeable and drinkable. [3.0] Sept 2018. 330ml brown bottle, unfiltered, from BeerWulf. You know this is a craft beer because it's only 4.6%, yet it's in a 330ml bottle. 500ml (or, God forbid, pint) bottles are for old men with beards and sandals. Anyway, this is a tasty craft beer. Sweet, yeasty malt with some bold but not aggressive modern citric hops. I'm not too taken with the hops, but they are tolerable, and the maltiness compensates. Swap the hops for some traditional English ones, and half or less the amount, and I would love this beer. [3.1]
3.6 Robe ambré limpide et brillante, sombre, carbo fine et correcte, mousse abondante, fine et tenace, compacte, nuances brunes, assez nappante.
3.4 Can 33 cl, poured into a tulip glass. Pours a dark amber with a medium creamy head and an aroma of caramel, lime and sweet malts
3.6 Color ambra, poca schiuma evanescente. Aroma maltato e appena fruttato. Buona al palato, equilibrio di dolce e punta amara. Corpo medio.
3.1 Pours a decent head. Citrus happy aroma. Strong bubbles. Crisp and mild. But if a powdery texture.
3.3 Fairly hoppy but also aley. Not bad.
0.5 Ácida, contaminada. Edit.: Segunda prueba. Cervezón tremendo, irish red Ale de libro. Ahora sí. Segunda puntuación de 3'6
3.5 330ml can. Pours amber with a white head. Fruity malt aroma. Taste of fruit. Bittersweet finish.
3.4 Beige creamy full lasting head. Brown copper colour . Aroma is hoppy with citrus and fruity (pineapple) notes. Flavor is hoppy too with caramel and fruity (citrus and tangerine) , ending in an hoppy finish. Medium bodied.
3.3 Cask at Hogshead, Wolverhampton Pours a rich reddish brown with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly caramel which is also true of the flavour in the mouth. Along with malt and some citrus with hints of toffee and spice. The finish is partly mango sweet, but also bitter. A well balanced beer that packs a punch.
3.2 Can from Honest Brew Citrusy sweet aroma, a hint of raspberry juice. deep toffee red brown, small head Refreshing hoppy bite with malty balance. Medium carbonation and quite dry. Somewhat lacking in depth and complexity, but pretty refreshing.
3.5 Pours a reddish brown with a big white head. Aromas of caramel with floral notes - very good. Taste is caramel malts with plenty of citrussy hops and a delicate floral background. Decent mouthfeel and good aftertaste. Very drinkable.
3.8 Many thanks to Mark. Great floral nose. The beer starts very mild with lots of floral hops. Easy to drink, moderate bitter with lots of refreshing floralness in the back.

3.8 Can from Honestbrew. Dark amber with white head, decent lacing. Aroma of malts, hoppy, cirtussy. Malts, grapefruit, orange combine well in taste. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice.
3.3 Fad. Flot ravfarvet klar øl med stort skumhoved. Duften er let maltet. Smagen er humlet up front og går over til sødlig malt.
3.4 IPA crossed with a bitter. Has the citrus of a normal IPA but with the malt a hops of a bitter, with slight toffee notes. Drinkable hybrid beer
