Titanic Plum Porter

Titanic Plum Porter

Cask and Bottle
Brewed with "Natural Plum Flavourings".

This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring. Take the opportunity and go for the low hanging fruit, this sumptuous beer really is a plum!

3.9 Dark ruby in appearance. Tart, slightly sour plum taste, which surprises after the fruity, sweeter aroms
3.4 Bottle from DanTomlinson, many thanks. Ruby red color with thick pinkish head. Clear plums in aroma, dark malt, chocolate. Taste, swet sugary, plum compote, light dark malt. Not too much porter, or more precisly beer in this. As drink quite good.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red, small beige head; looks nice Aroma of predominantly plum, semi-sweet, a very mild roast malt in the background; intriguing Taste has the dark fruits, plum flavouring, vanilla, mild roasted malts, mild hops. There is a moderate bitterness in the finish. Lovely Body is light to moderate and carbonation is light but sparkling rather than soft which doesn't quite work with the rich flavour. Despite the above comment this is a very good porter, packed full of flavour without being over sweet or sickly. As an aside what does 'Natural Plum Flavourings' actually mean. It sounds like a contradiction.
4.0 Well this was a refreshing change, lovely immediate plum notes followed by a bitter but not overpowering aftertaste. A word of wise though, this beer is £2.79 a pint at JDW Paramount Manchester, but £4.20 a pint round the corner at the Peveril of the Peak. Be warned!
3.5 Pours a clear, near black with a ruby red lustre, and a creamy off-white head. Sweet plums on the nose, the mouthfeel is slightly effervescent and the taste is dry, slightly bitter plums and lightly roasted malt, leaving a slight bitter aftertaste
3.4 Smell-weak to medium, dried plums, malt, sweet. Foam- malt, plums, weak acidic tones, faint roast. Head is small, light brown white, orange color. Sticks. Appearance - brewer bottle cap, simple label. Clear very dark red, almost black, weak carbonation. From - snifter Taste - dried plums, acidic, malty, roast, some bitter tones and bit more plums. This is bit weird but plums is mixed well together, I somewhat like it. Not bad for one time, but I won't be looking for this again.
3.7 Cask pours brown with tan head. Aroma of plums, chocolate and malts. Taste is plums and malts
3.5 50cl bottle thanks to @minutemat and EuroSwap 3/2019. Pours opaque reddish dark brown with small beige head. Disrinct aroma has plum, raisins with berry. Taste is sharp, bit watery with heavy plum/berry kisel notes and hint of maltiness in the end. Reminds me of finnish plumkisel served on christmas.
4.7 My favourite plum porter Cask better than bottle A silky smooth heavy porter with fabulous body A small frothy head quickly dissipated Lovely lingering after tastes Not a session beer Hammersmith Wetherspoons
3.6 Aroma : Roasty dark malts, stewed plums with a hint of dark chocolate. Not actually a traditional porter smell, much more like a stout, nice none the less though. Taste : Sweet plum tatse is even stronger than smell, overpowers any roasty bitterness. Good but would be excellent if more bitter rost came through!
3.3 50cl bottle shared by Erzengel, thanks! A deep ruby red beer with a beige head. Aroma of sweet plums, sweet dark malt. Taste of sweet plums, some spices, sweet dark malt, caramel, sweet fruity finish.
2.2 Many thanks Simon! Interesting fruity beginning. Lots of plums in the beginning, a bit too much fruity aroma over a beery body. According to the ingredients there is only "natural plum aroma" in the beer - and no real plums. So the balance between plum aroma and porter is not balanced well. Tastes a bit pushy artificial. Sad.
4.2 Плотно, насыщенно. Но слабо слышно сливы. Хмель Голдинг. Слышны фрукты. Легкая солодовая горечь.
5.0 Cask at the Mute Swan, Hampton Court. Pours a deep and dark, ruby red. Aromas are very fruit forward, with the tartness of the plums carrying through to the taste. Some chocolate flavours help balance this into a really drinkable porter. Lovely stuff.
3.6 Clean mild plum, light drinking, full flavored dark mild, nithing overtly off, pretty good. Gbbf winter 2020
5.0 Just added as a permanent guest ale.
4.0 Nice porter with a deep subtle plum flavour. Light bubblegum aroma.
3.6 Dark brown with hints of ruby, creamy white head. Aroma of dark fruit and plums. Very smooth mouthfeel, nice fruit taste, not too sweet. Good.
5.0 Quality beint 10/10 would recommend
3.7 Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford in 2011. Near black with a dense beige head. Aroma of dark malts, dried fruit, prunes and cocoa. The sweetness is fitting and fruity and not saccharine. Nice, smooth mouthfeel.
3.2 Thanks dantomlinson for sharing! Black body with ruby shades and a minimal, frothy and good lacing beige head. Sweet and fruity aroma, more berries than plums actually. Taste starts herbal, then comes the fruitiness again. Fruity and mineral finish. Medium body, average carbonation oily texture
4.0 Lovely beer. Drinking it is akin to eating a summer pudding. Delicious.
4.5 Beautiful fruity beer
2.3 Danke an minutemat. Dunkler trockener Beginn. Viel Pflaume, trockene milde Herbe, steigende Intensität. Unrund, etwas nach Likör. Ne. 9/7/7/7/8/7
3.6 Cask at Wellington. Pours clear ruby with off-white head. Sweet on a nose and keeps the trend on a tongue, not really plum but more like forest fruits or red berries. Good still.
3.1 Cask. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is plums, chocolate, a bit berry jam even. Taste is chocolate, plums, berry jam again. Some bready yeast flavours and medium bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation.
3.4 Definitely tastes of plum but not too sweet. A solid porter with some malt and lots of plum darkness, not real complexity to what is going on here. On tap at the Sheffield Tap
3.0 Aromat słodka śliwka, nieco sztuczna, trochę karmelu i czekolada deserowa. Wodniste pół słodkie męczące. Tak jak śliwka to.moj ulubiony owoc w piwie tak tu zamula
4.3 Nice dark ale, pleasant dark fruit, almost raisin taste. Couldn't drink more than a few but a very nice bottled ale.
