To Øl Sort Mælk

To Øl Sort Mælk

Danish: Imperial Whisky Barrel Aged Milk Stout.

English: The beast has landed. A limited one time release Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout at 13,1 % ABV. "Sort Mælk" = "Black Milk"... Oh Yeah!

3.6 Version 10.6%. I guess it is a 2016 batch because alcohol is pretty high. The aroma is dominated ba a harsh barrel, not so pleasant. The taste is sweet chocolate pralines with a hint of alcohol and a bit roast, nice. Medium to full body. Satisfying and definitely worth trying.
4.2 2014 vintage. Wanilia, dużo drewna i dość ostrej beczki, w smaku mega gładkie, praliny, słodka czekolada. Mega piwo.
4.6 Very think borwn head, the smell is coca, vanilla, the look is black, the taste is lactose, sweet malty, but very, very smoky. The wood finish is incredible, it’s like drinking BBQ! Great beer.
3.9 33cl Bottle @ 2D2Dspuma Tienda, Barcelona, Spain. Black colour with tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, milk chocolate, molasses, coffee, oak. Taste is roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, sweet, licorice, whiskey. Full body, soft carbonation.
3.5 Big stout, a rich milk stout with heavy bourbon. Grew on me. Lactic in finish, but does not need that. Black bodied. Thanks Blian.
4.0 Flaska på Bishops, Örebro. Osäker på hur gammal. Svart med litet brunbeiget skum. Stor doft av kola, kaffe, whisky, laktos. Stor, rund kropp. Rejält med kaffe i förgrunden tillsammans med whisky, lakrits, kola. Avslutas i stor kärv kaffebeska.
3.7 Pours deep dark in the glass with khaki head. Aroma of whiskey, wood, dark chocolate, demerara sugar, licorice, dark cherries. Flavour is dark chocolate, vanilla, whiskey forward, sweet booze, brown sugar and licorice. Almost full body (I drank the 10.6% ABV version), creamy mouthfeel. I’d liked more complexity on this one. The 13.1% ABV version would be better, I guess.
3.7 Black body, Tiny, tiny, brown head. Dark fruit, alcohol, cherry, roasted malt, milk, chocolate flavour. Sweet and bitter. Thick body. Medium to soft carbonation.
4.0 Pours a black from a bottle, no head. Big tobacco, chocolate and coffee aroma, similar flavor. Started off unbelievably bitter, but now appreciate the balance and lack of sweetness. Very good beer.
4.3 Bottle shared by Jesse. Thanks again man! This one pours a very dark brown/black color with a tan head. The aroma has massive notes of tobacco leaf, fudge, coffee, oak and spice. Really complex and mature. The flavor is the same. Tons of fresh tobacco leaf, cigar, oak, dark chocolate and coffee. Rich on the palate. A drink that would pair well with Ron Burgundy, leather bound books and rich mahogany.
3.9 Bottle at home. Two year old. Pours a black colour with a dark beige head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, coffee, whisky, soya sauce, licorice and ash. Has a well-roasted flavour with coffee beans, ash, wisky and very dark chocolate. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a balanced bitterness. A pretty roasted IS with sweet tones in the background. Nice and powerful.
4.4 Bourbon oak, tabacco, coffee. Very bold and flavorful. Best stout I’ve had to date. Very delicious
3.8 Tap at Brus Copenhagen. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is rich roasty malt, molasses. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich oily liqourice, dark chocolate, light dry coffee palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.
3.8 Pours black with a tan head, dissipates quickly but the lacing is present and clingy. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, sweet malt, roast, somewhat smoky; just hints of oak and vanilla. Taste is espresso, cocoa, alcohol, molasses, raisins, bourbon. It's not mind-blowing, but it's good.
3.9 (Bottle) Black colour with dense, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, sweet espresso, cacao, oak wood, black rye bread, muscovado sugar and dried fruit (dates, raisins). Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, sweet liquorice, strong sweet coffee, tobacco, dark fruit, dates, brown sugar, oak wood and a balanced roasty bitterness in a sweet and fiery finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Not really balanced, possibly a touch too sweet, but really tasty and quite powerful. Very nice.
4.2 330 ml bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, listed at 10.6%. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, toasted oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, cream, raisin, plum, fig, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, toasted oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, cream, raisin, plum, fig, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness. Moderate roast/char bitterness and whisky/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, dark fruits, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and oak spiciness balance, with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this an outstanding imperial milk stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
3.7 Bottle 330ml. Pours deep black with low beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of bacon, crème de menthe, nuts, tequila, strong alcohol. Taste is of coffee, roasted malt, cream, bitterness. Palate: Full bodied, soft carbonation. Overall: Good stuff.

4.1 Bottle 0,33, 10,6% ABV, cca 2 years old. Black color, big brown head with nice retention. Aroma of roasted malt, oak, chocolate, cocoa, some booze notes. Taste of chocolate liqueur, dark fruits, vanilla, roasted malt, whiskey, cocoa, booze. Fullest of the full bodies, incredibly smooth, complex, very creamy, sticky on the lips, alcohol warmth in finish.
4.1 Bottle 0.33l, 10.6 abv, about 2 years old. Dark oily liquid with tan/reddish soft head. Smell is very nice, could smell wood, vanilla. Creamy and rich in taste. Perfect in the mouth, could taste alcohol after swallowing it. Long finish. Full body, almost no carbonation.
3.9 Pours a good black with a thin brown head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of ash, smoke, iodine and some grapes. Taste is of smoky milk chocolate if that makes sense. Body is full, carbonation moderate and alcohol is pretty well hidden. I could never have tell this is 13%. A really nice smoky stout!
3.7 pours unclear dark brown with a small beige cap offering some retention and lacing. umami roasted maltiness, raisins, hint of smokiness, minty and piney alcohol, lactose sweetness, molasses, clean lightly buttery yeast. moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily; boozy, floral and resinous-smoky finish. rich flavors - nice barreling as well. nice milk barrel-aged stout.
4.0 Bottle shared. Opaque black pour with thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, milk, roasty, light caramel. Taste is rich, chocolate-y, milk chocolate. Palate is rich, full bodied with med carbonation. Tasty.
4.0 Bottle (330 ml) shared at tasting. Pitch black with a very thin ring of beige lacing leaving little legs on the glass. Aroma is decadent with loads of chocolate, cognac, roasted malt, a bit of soy sauce, molasse and some fruitiness. Taste is moderately sweet and quite fruity with medium boozy-cognac presence and a bit of roastiness. Full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Chocolatey and cognac finish. Tasty, complex and decadent.
3.9 Big black beer. Nice aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, and smoke/tobacco, with hints of whiskey. Doesn’t seem like 13% alcohol. Big flavor chocolate/espresso with a nice whiskey notes on the tail.
3.5 12oz bottle pours an oily black with some cloudy, tan head. Nose is heavy on the licorice, molasses, malt, dark chocolate, some vanilla, char notes, dried fruits. Flavor is black licorice, burnt caramel, mild coffee bean, chocolate, vanilla, some molasses, a little bit of cough syrup. Thick, syrupy finish.
4.2 Pours black, with a solid creamy dark beige head. Boubony tones in the aroma. Thick round coffee, lacto mouthfeel, a bit boozy with a little sweetness. Great!
4.3 330ml bottle from TLH Quick N Save Chevron A rich dark pour that floods roasted chocolate and expands the nose after warming to coffee, hints of carmel and whiskey that gains throughout. Very light foam tappering to lace around the glass. A mouth full of oaky chocolate, sticky cacao nib textured with bitter chocolate/semi-sweet finish. Nothing short of exceptional. Like milk from the Mother! Cheers...
3.8 Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen - finally got round to opening this) - pours black with a tan head. Roasted malty with some big milky chocolate prominence, some caramel sweetness, coffee, gorgeous.
4.0 Bottle: Thanks Hackobock: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a brown head. Aromas of perfume, cognac, roast, wood, bay leaf, earthy, dark fruity, hints of peat and smoke... Flavours of berries, some red fruit, roast, whiskey, earthy, wood, cognac, liquor, hint of lacto, coal, etc... Aftertaste is bitter, roast, wood, whiskey, cognac... Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Strange, one time strong cognac other time you taste red and dark fruit, other time more earthy whiskey, but nonetheless a good beer.
