4.1 330ml bottle from El Irlandés. Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a big rocky off-white head that diminishes slowly. Aroma is a fantastic collection of funky notes, a bit of vinegar with citrusy, zesty notes, fresh green herbs, lime and some ginger. Taste is on the same vein, with huge complexity deriving from the soft sourness being incorporated into a bitter, lemony, citrusy core. Tart and sweet merge in great harmony. The finish makes the alpha acids shine a bit more. It's the first time I try a sour IPA so successful and integrating both worlds. Fantastic.
2.8 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma of lemons, medicine. Tastes slightly bitter with little sweetness. Thin bodied. Most likely infected.
3.5 0,33 l bottle. I also had it on tap at Sir Williams pub. Pours orange with lasting rocky off white head and distinctive wheat malt haziness. Aroma of malts, plenty of yeast, rather contained barnyard funk, fruity hop notes, slightly spicy and tarty. I was expecting more hop presence, but aroma is very complex. Taste is medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter, light sourness. When cold it has distinct pine flavor. Body is full, texture is delicately creamy. Carbonation is average to lively. Finish is long, dry, fruity, funky with heavy bitterness.
3.4 OK, a bit neutral, nice bitter yeast, a bit tart, the aroma is particularly pungent and the stand-out here, but not one of my preferred tools
3.8 33 cl. Amertume et finale sche (last square). Bonne !
2.6 Bottle, shared with Parksy. Orangish-brown with a bubbly off white head. Aroma is cooked peaches and tea. The flavours are the same with aspirin bitterness that finishes harshly. I pretty sure this is not fresh....
3.5 25. 11. 2017, Ico's, Home, Ljubljana. Bottled. Orange hazy to reddish colour with white head with some retention. Aroma is fruity, yeasty, complex. Taste is also very complex all over the place, but nicelz balanced between fruity IPA, some wild yeasts, more to the bitter and funky side, malt sweetness was not detected. Light to med bodied, dryish and creamish mouthfeel. Average to lively carb. Not a bad choice at all. deserves to be tasted again.
3.6 Visual: Pours cloudy orange-brown with minimal lasting head, fine foamy 1mm layer of retention, clusters of steady active streams. Nose: faint subtle sour funk’d barley malt (lvl-3)-pungency Attack: crisp, thick fullness, creamy Mid-palate: sharp numbing resiny-pine, (lvl-5)-sweetness, soft toffee barley malt, Finish: subtle banana wheat malt exhale, grainy barley malt, lingering metallic hopped bitterness Summary: The combo of oats for creaminess, wheat for fruitiness, and barley as the backbone works well in this brew. This IPA is the dry, piney variety - good stuff, but I wished for more fruity citrus to round it out.
3.9 Na pierwszym planie mamy zioła i słód. W tle brzoskwinie, cytrusy. Dominuje zboże i zioła. Jest tu też taka dzikość drożdżowa. Coś w stylu starej skóry. W tle brzoskwinie i przyprawy na końcu języka. Goryczka średnia i przyjemnie zalega.
3.7 Appearance: hazy pale amber with two fingers of fluffy growing ivory head, excellent retention and heavy lacing. (5/5) Aroma: Brett funk, stone fruit, grapefruit, some tropical fruit. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium slightly oily body, lively carbonation, lingering bitter and mildly warming finish. (3/5) Yup, “farmhouse IPA” is definitely a valid style label to hang on this thing (BJCP be damned!): lots of farmhouse (well, that, or barnyard) Brett(-like? I dunno, I’m not a mycologist.) funk character battling for supremacy with grapefruit and tropical fruit IPA notes. Not all that tart, though, despite the commercial description. Might be interesting newer - perhaps there’d be more of the pithy grapefruit if you caught it within 90 days or so - but given the dominance of Brett(-like? Whatever.) wild yeast here, I kind of doubt it. If anything, this strikes me as the kind of IPA you could stick in a cellar for a couple of years just to let the funk really dig down and get established. If I happen to notice another one of these around, I might do just that. (15/20)
3.7 Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A big sweet fruity nose. The flavor is sweet banana, spices, lemongrass. Interesting.
4.1 Bottle. Colour...dark gold, almost amber, with a thick white head. Nose...yeasty, musty, musky and fruity. Palate...tart, dry, yeast laden with hoppy crust and dark fruity bits. The mid palate is sharp and sandy tight with an ultra dry brut finish.
3.6 Bottle 33cl. Small white head. Peach hazy color. Aroma is hops, fruits, candy, plums. Taste is bitter.
3.3 Draft 0.15l at Beer Temple Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 22.09.2016. Taste with Vlada Ciaone. Pour it hazy orange color with small head. Aroma quite flat. Taste sweet orange, have some funky notes, flat little bit, It looks like old keg, hm, hope I will try this one more time.
3.8 Unclear, deep golden colored, medium+ frothy beige head, nice lacing and long lasting. Aroma is of some malt, spicy yeast, funky Brett, some tart fruit, nice. Taste is medium sweet malt and fruity with some tartness, some citrus, spicy yeast and moderate- Bretty funkiness, medium bitterness, dry finish, bit alcoholic touch. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily. (bottle, Pivoljub Ljubljana)
3.7 Bottle to tulip Consummation: Plum, wine, plum wine, slivovitz, with hoppiness and a little alcohol tinge Adjunct: Hazy amber with a frothy, 4 cm, off white head that reduces to 1.5 and then stays; plum, lychee, and some light, sweet malt
3.6 (Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 14 Sep 2016) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, spicy yeast and hints of brett. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, oarnge peel, apricots, caramel, a soft malt character, spicy yeast and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well made and interesting IPA with a saison touch. Nice one.
3.2 33cl. bottle @ home Aroma: not very intense. Hints of mango, tropical fruits, grapefruit, spices and some sour aroma i couldn’t identify, maybe barnyard. Appearance: golden color with a huge and super creamy white head. Above average head thickness. Above average retention. A bit of hazyness. Low-to-medium Brussels’ lacing. Taste: medium sweetness, low-to-medium bitterness, low sourness. Taste of tropical fruits, fruits, grapefruit with a slightly sour touch. Palate: low-to-medium body, average carbonation, watery texture, quite long slightly dry finish of fruits, grapefruit, tropical fruits with moderate bitterness. Overall: very good appearance but not very intense aromas. The flavor is quite good (fruits, tropical fruits, grapefruit) and it has a pleasant mouthfeel too. Long dry finish of grapefruit, fruits and tropical fruits. Very different but good beer.
4.0 Very yeasty and farmy taste with nice citrusy hop finish. Still remains a very good farmhouse by nature.with added hop improvement
3.9 Mango Shisharauch??!! Beim 2ten Mal besser. Ebenfalls TAP STUFF in Berlin. HOPFENREICH : 8/4/8/4/17 RIP ORANGE / BRETTY SPICE IPA mit High End Quali Anspruch!!!
4.0 Piana średnio pęcherzykowa, obfita, dość trwała i z ładnym lejsingiem. Barwa pomarańczowo złota, opalizująca. Aromat świeży, cytrusowy, świerkowy, z delikatną nutą końskiej derki. W smaku półwytrawne, lekko biszkoptowe, sporo cytrusów, żywicy, brzoskwiń, w posmakach nieco funky w stylu starej skóry, siana, przypraw. Goryczka średnia, pikantna. Alkohol ładnie ukryty. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego, dość grube.
3.6 Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Lots of tropical fruits, lichi and passion fruit, some mango. Sweet fruit flavours, apricot, with a rather low but crisp carbonation. Juicy, almost chewy too. Falls of towards the finish, though still very nice.
4.2 Murky bronze colour with an off-white head. Funky barnyard aroma with lots of hay. Taste is really tart with a spicy, bitter finish.
3.7 33 cl bottle. Hazy pale orange with a thin white head. Notes of yeast, brett, bitter cherries, red berries, light saison funk, unripe tropical fruit. Medium body, high carbonation and a hoppy bitter finish.
3.5 Hazy orange amber color, thick creamy off-white head. Bread malt nose, citrus, ripe fruit, toffee, hint of alcohol. Fruity taste, grass, brett, hint of grapefruit, malty notes, moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft to average carbonation.
