3.4 Bottle 330ml at home. BBE 2018-08-24. From Alko web shop. Pours cola brown with tan head. Fruits, citrus, licorice, hops. Medium body, average carbonation, bitter finnish. Original rating 8-3-8-3-14 from bottle 750ml at rental apartment in Nice 2012-06-21.
2.6 Bottle. Murky brown color, tan head. Slightly acidic, roasted malt aroma with buttery notes. Slightly unusual hop profile with coffee. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Not really my thing.
3.8 Muddy, dark brown colour with some tan lacing. Nice aroma, malts, little hops, spice and cookie dough. Hoppy taste with a malty backbone, finish is a bit dry. Medium body, low medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel.
3.7 0,33l Bottle from Alko. Pours dark brown, almost black color with medium head. Aroma of citrus, fruits, caramel, lightly roasted malts, chocolate. Medium body, medium bitterness. Pleasant well crafted black IPA, balanced beer.
1.8 Oily on the palate. Odd mix of chocolate, mushrooms and bitter black coffee. Very little carbonation and too little alcohol for this style. I ended up throwing half of it down the sink.
3.9 Aroma of roasted malts and a bit of hops. Flavour is resin, mouthfeel smooth, thick, full. Body not too heavy. Aftertaste is bitter, malty.
3.2 Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours black with a medium-sized frothy head. The aroma features sweetish, lightly roasty dark maltiness; chocolate, rye bread, nuts. Fairly mild hop presence. Taste is also not very hoppy; it is dominated by roasty maltiness with only light hoppy bitterness balancing towards finish. Flavours of chocolate, salted licorice, coffee. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, low to average in carbonation. Cascade is totally missing here. Not bad as such but far cry from a proper black IPA.
Meh...
3.5 33cl bottle from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy, excited four months ago. Pours dark, slightly purple, with cappuccino foam, very fine. Aroma is toasted, licorice, a little balsamic. Body is slightly dense, with good carbonation, maybe a little excessive. Taste is insistingly bitter. Finish is not particular.
3.6 Bottiglia (@Rudat, Oespel): Literally black, presumably hazy, medium-sized and slowly collapsing tanned head; solid dry toasty and roasty and caramelly nose with a piney to flowery background; moderate to solid bitter flavour, medium bodied, very soft; coffeeish and roasty flavours in the flowery-bitter finish. More a decent Dry Stout than an IPA...

3.7 Birra dal colore marrone scuro. Schiuma color caffelatte, grossolana e poco persistente. Note di malto tostato, caffè e liquirizia.
3.6 Tap at Open Baladin, Roma. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of hop, citrus fruit, light roasted malt, chocolate and pine. Light sweetness, toward heavy bitterness. Light body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Finish is dry, and of bitter fruit and chocolate.
Lite svaga fina rostade toner. Överraskande god.
4.0 Piwo skonsumowane. Ocena na podstawie retrospekcji w celu uzupełnienia profilu.
4.6 Pours complete black with a rich layer of head. Tiny bubbles form the foam. Aroma is rich and smooth, intense cocoa nibs. Dark malts, chocolate, herbal hops, a bit grassy. Medium body. Rich smooth mouthfeel. Cocoa is also intense in flavour, dark malts, very hoppy-herbal, bitter, bitter dark chocolate, a little sweet. Medium long bitter finish. What a brilliant black IPA!
3.8 33cl bottle. Pours very dark brown colour with a huge, big good lasting tan head. Aroma of dark malt, sweet malt, chocolate, bitter citrus hops. Taste of strong bitter hops, citrus, dark roasted malt, coffee, long bitter finish.
4.0 Tap @ Baladin, Roma. Nice head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, chocolate, lots of bitter hops and fruit.
3.3 Bottle. Black with small head. Mine was 6 months old so it was mostly roasted malt and licorice in the aroma and taste. There was some hops present also, but I believe it should have been more if it was fresher.
4.2 Aroma: Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, liquorice, chocolate, roasted malts, hops and citrus. Appearance: Opaque black beer with a large/huge beige/brown head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit, liquorice and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts, hops and citrus. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Superb balanced flavour, though slightly on the roasted malts side, especially great for its abv. The hops never make some orange or pine happen, but they are perfectly woven into the mix. Great aroma and palate, together with an amazing appearance. Wonderful beer overall with no flaws whatsoever.
Noen godt modne solbær helt i slutten?
3.6 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.3%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Fresh aroma of fruity and piney Galaxy hops, also some mild roasty notes, hints of coffee. The flavour is slightly on the dry side, distinct hops, but also more distinct roast malts here, with notes of strong bitter coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Plenty of bittering hops in the finish.
3.7 Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 13.02.17. Aroma of roasted malt, fresh coffee and grapefruit. Similar and well-balanced taste, also with vanilla and dark chocolate. Medium long bitterness. Complex and harmonious.
3.8 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with beige head. Aroma of pine needles, tropical fruits, some roasted notes. Tastes bitter with some sweetness. Thin bodied, bitter finish, dry mouth feel.
3.0 Taste at Bergen Whisky and Beer Festival 2017. Dark Brown to black in colour. Chestnuts, coffee, licorice, some hoppiness at first whiff. Modestly carbonated, the taste resembles the aroma wth added dimension of some fruityness. Good but not excellent.
3.9 Draught at Orobirra. Pours clear black with tawny highlights and a large, creamy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy roast malt, licorice, pine and citrus hops, light nuttiness and chocolate malt. Flavor is heavy roast and chocolate malt, heavy citrus and pine hops and bitterness, licorice and prunes with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
