3.312oz Flasche. Dunkelbraune Farbe, kaum Schaum. Aroma von Schokolade und Toffe. Geschmack auch Schokolade und Kaffe. Etwas unrund.
4.1Aroma: cocoa, licorice, caramel
Appearance: clear brown, tan head
Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness,
Palate: medium body, soft carbonation, long finish,
Nice brew
3.1Purchased at ShopRite Liquors. Poured from a twelve ounce bottle to a pint glass. Pours a nice deep, dark brown with zero head. Not much aroma to speak of. Tastes of chocolate and just a nip of honey, tastes a bit watered down.
2.7Brown pour with thin head. Like the head, the beer is very thin. Coffee and chocolate in the nose and flavor. The flavors and aromas aren’t good though, seem a bit off. Not digging it.
3.0bottled - chocolatey, roasty aroma. Dark appearance. Dry taste - more of a stout than a porter. Not bad overall.
3.0On tap at brewery. Appearance: slight tan head that does not last, brown color, opaque, good lacing. Aroma: chocolate, molasses, light floral. Palate: average carbonation, full body, dry finish, light sticky texture. Taste: sweet chocolate and molasses into floral drying hops and light dark chocolate bitterness. Overall, not amazing, but somewhat unique.
3.0Pours a dark brown with red around the edges. Tan head with medium retention. Aromas of chocolate and dough. A little odd. Taste of chocolate and honey sweetness. Nothing wowing me. Ok average overall. A little smokiness in the finish.
2.612oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
The Cocoa Porter pours black with a thick frothy light tan head that lasts a very long while. The aroma is chocolate, biscuit and honey. The flavor is chocolate up front with some honey and biscuit mixed in. None of the flavors are very pronounced. Overall this is a pretty average beer. Other than the odd mixture of honey and chocolate nothing really stands out.
3.0Bottle from Wegman’s, served in snifter. Dark brown and medium bodied, with very little aroma. Cocoa and honey flavor is cloying at colder temperature but more pleasant when the beer has warmed some. Not an outstanding porter, but a decent beer.
2.8Draft mason jar pour at Beaujos PIzza in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The pour is opaque brown with a small khaki head. The aroma is soft vegetal with sweet artificial cocoa along with some sweet malt. The taste is the sweet malt up front, followed close by the artificial cocoa and then some off flavors. The palate is light to medium bodied with the lingering sweet off taste.
2.9Cocoa and sweetness. Maybe caramel make this beer up. Not too much of anything. Average brew. Noting spectacular.
3.012oz bottle from Kenny Rd Market. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Tastes of sweet malt, chocolate, honey, toasty. Oily palate. Falls a little flant - not much going on.
3.4Bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and some slight roast. Flavor follows. Slight coffee, more chocolate, and some roast. Nice, smooth beer.
3.2Bottle. Pours a dark brown with slight beige head. Aroma and taste of malts, chocolate, and some coffee.
3.6Rating from June 2011....12 oz. bottle...pours a rich dark brown color with a small off white head...rich chocolate malty aroma ...sweet and hearty....any honey is subtle....coffee and chocolate are not....nice effervescence, yet still silky....nice light roasted easy to drink flavor
2.5If you liked chocolate beers this would be fair at best..I think I brew better in my brew haus
3.112 oz bottle from backlog notes. Pours a clear brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have cocoa powder, honey sweetness, light roast, light earthy notes, the sweet, powdery chocolate is ok, probably just a touch better than its average in my book.
3.7bottle to glass; looks like I was a positive outlier on this one. Enjoyed. aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. nice dark pour. I thought the mouthfeel was above average for a regular porter - thought this had some thickness to it. Taste was similar to aroma - very solid brew; would have again.
3.4Aroma has chocolate and cinnamon. This porter has a smooth finish and the palate is complex.
2.8Bottle: pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aromas are chocolate and sugar. Taste is a bit disappointing, watery mouthfeel, and only a light roasty chocolate flavor. Easy drinking and if I didn’t have my hopes up I wouldn’t feel as let down.
3.5In growler nice chocolate flavor smooth feel.
3.0Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a dark brown color with a small creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is thin and watered down, with light notes of chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt.
3.512oz bottle. Ruby brown-burgundy body. Creamy beige head. Honey, brown chocolate in the aroma. A pretty decent Winter Warner, really throwing some Porter into the equation. On the fuller side of medium bodied. Not the thick, opaque black beer of years past. The honey really throws it over the top in terms of sweetness. Could use some hop character to even it out. OK.
3.3Pours a dark brown with a medium head that dissipates relatively quickly. Mild cocoa aroma. Taste is sweet with toasted malt and cocoa. Mouth feel is on the thin side. If you really pay attention you can taste the honey smoothness in the finish. It’s fine. Nothing special.
2.812 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, lasting, light beige head, with slight lacing, over a clear ruby brown (SRM 25) body.....nose is light cocoa, hints of cinnamon, cereal....taste is light malts, with cereal, light cocoa, hints of honey sweetness, ending with hints of bitterness...mouth feel light of medium, carbonation low with light acid. This is a remarkably light Porter given that there were additions to the recipe. The malt back bone is too subdued, and hops are minimally present. BJCP 6/3/9/4/5

Appearance: The body is a beautifully hued garnet with excellent clarity. The beautiful garnet is only seen through a light though, it appears a dark brown when sat down. Unfortunately there’s no head to speak of, only a very thin ring with a light coating.
Aroma: The aroma is almost non-existent. I smell some cocoa and some roasted malts, but they are hard to pick up. Upon swirling they are a bit more noticed, but definitely very hidden.
Taste: The flavor is stronger than the aroma, thankfully. There’s an underlying honey sweetness with a matching cocoa powder overlay. The cocoa reminds me a bit of Yoo-Hoo. The flavor is mild, but enjoyable, though a bit cloying after two sips.
Palate: Crisp body with mild carbonation, near full-bodied.
Overall: This is close to being a good beer, it really is. The problems I have are the flavor is a bit cloying and the aroma is completely lacking. Thankfully the flavor is mild though so it’s not overly cloying. I would give this a try again if I heard good things from next years batch.
3.4Bottle. Roasted barley aroma with notes of cocoa. Pours dark brown with a short, light brown head and good lacing. Taste is very interesting. Cocoa and roasted barley to start. Finishes smooth with the sweetness from the honey really coming through nicely that lingers on the palate. Overall flavor is a little thin but still a good winter sipper.
2.9Bottle. Pours a deep black with a huge bubbly off-white head that lingers. Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, wood, grass. Taste is week, of dark chocolate, toasted malt, brown sugar. Lingering chocolate malt that ends watery. Nice nose, but the taste doesn’t match.
2.9(Bottle). Mild aroma includes some light cocoa and well roasted malts. Minimal head and very light body. The flavor has lots of roasted malt with some bitter-sweet cocoa flavor inserted. Please note, the artwork has changed on the label and the name "winter warmer" is now replaced with seasonal ale.
2.9Cocoa aromas well blended with roasted malt, no detectable honey. Dark brown-black with a lasting tan head. Dry, coffee and cocoa flavors dominating, metallic in the finish. Medium bodied, pretty smooth.
