1.7 From a stubby poured a crystal clear gold-amber with 5mm of bright white open foam that diminished slowly to a blotchy cap that laced OK. Carbonation high, lively and coarse to very coarse. Aroma strongly of malt and hints of corn; no obvious hops. Taste is moderately malty with hints of corn and sweetness; no real bitterness. Light body bordering on watery. Smooth with a short finish. Best cold.
3.0 Pours yellow with average white head. Aroma and taste of mineral and metal. Lively carbonation with light body that isn't watery. Light bitter finish to it. Light taste of hay and grass.
1.5 Into a tulip, chilled. Pretty sure this is the first Nicaraguan macro I have tried so don't have too high of hopes for a class leader. Pours a watery, thinly medium gold and bright with rampant carbonation. Head foams up to a good inch on the pour to quickly recede back to a mere wafer on the surface. Malt forward nose; hay bales, chaff, spent grain dust, leavened bread dough with just a hint of stale hops. Highly carbonated on the palate, yet lighter than a dry white wine in body. Something chemical like acetone/nail polish remover comes through - ugh! the malt of the nose all but disappeared, replaced by damp cardboard and starchy rice notes. Drabby, chemical soap finish. Leaves a film on the tongue and this is only two sips in. Rather unpleasant overall. I wouldn't say 'drain pour' but teetering on the cusp. Not good!! (35cL, BB 23/01/22, Dan Murphy's Cannington)
2.7 I had this beer in August 2021 and rated it with 2,75 stars in UT. Nothing special, but my first beer from Nicaragua.
1.7 Can (thanks Juks). Pale yellow color. Sweet, caramel, papery, acetone in aroma/taste.
1.0 Botella de @Tienda Bilbao. 11/10/2021. NUEVO PAÍS. Color amarillo, espuma escasa, Lager industrial mala.
2.3 350ml bottle into schooner glass. Bought at BWS, Glen Innes. Nicaraguan beer in Glen Innes? What a world we live in! Pours a crystal clear pale amber with a thin white head. High carbonation. Nose is heavy on the malt, bit of dough too. Light, fizzy, sweet. The lingering tin in the finish is off-putting and lowers the rating. Not great but not as bad as I thought it would be. A new country tick as well.
1.7 Dorada limpia de dos dedos de espuma poco duradera. Apenas aroma. En boca gas punzante, algo excesivo y sabor cereal y dulzón. Lo esperado

1.6 Bottle from Total Wine & More St. Matthews, Kentucky. Poured clear golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt, minerals, Taste was mild sweet, malty, grass, minerals, watery.
2.2 Bottle 0,35 ltr: Clear golden coloured brew with an very slightly sweet bitter taste with very slightly hints of sweet corn. First Nicaraguan tick.
2.0 330ml bottle from BWS (BB 22/1/22). Clear pale golden body, smallish white head. Nose and taste of syrupy sweet corn, stale bread, cardboard, no hops to speak of. Wispy thin body and mouthfeel. Quite forgettable.
2.5 Old Untappd checkin, February 23, 2017. Brown glass bottle. Sweet malt aroma. Light, easy drinking lager without much flavor but refreshing enough.
2.9 Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. I believe that this is my first beer from Nicaragua. Not bad for what it is.
1.8 Bottle. Very pale gold with a small white head. Aroma has a little toast, corn, weeds. Sweet and pretty corny with some bitterness that manages to be harsh despite there being not much of it. Undistinguished.
2.0 Clear golden beer with medium white head. Aroma is weak malty. Taste is also quite weak. A bit watery. Drinkable though.
1.8 Small, if very dense, just off-white head over clear golden beer, not very carbonated. Pale malty nose, some adjuncts, I fear (maize?). Cornflakes, honey, dried weeds. Malt & corn juice, watered syrrup; almost no impression of any alcohol; seriously sweet for a... pils? More like a tired German Export. Fruitgums. Slick, gristslick, empty feel and undercarbonated. Oh dear.
2.8 maakt prima na 10km loop met de mannen. Land #123: Nicaragua 🇳🇮. Degelijke Lager. Iets zoetig.
0.6 Rating copied from Untappd. Bought at Total Wine & More in Fort Lauderdale and had on 27 dec 2014
3.0 Country tick #129, can shared, golden beer, small head. Aroma is malt, grain, sweet. Taste is the same, grain, malt, aftertaste is dusty grain, ok meh
2.7 My beer of choice for my month in Nicaragua, Dec 08/Jan 09. I packed a 330ml bottle for my home collection. Pours light golden with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of flora, corn, grass, biscuit, grain & malt. Moderate body. Mildly bitter finish. Enjoyable enough served cold in country, as always less so at home.
1.6 This is a backlog rating from 2007 from a bottle picked up at Jungle Jim's, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are basic crappy pale lager, corn, grainy, some funk, meh.
1.0 Floral at first, quickly flattening to wet catdboard.
2.9 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear bright pale gold with a thin fast dissipating white head. Light grassy hops aroma. All malt with a thin watery hops finish. Fizzy mouthfeel an metallic tinny aftertaste. Medium to heavy carbonation. Not much character but could quench a tropical thirst I guess.
1.7 Appearance is clear light yellow almost watery almost no head. Aroma is light buttery corn, not offensive. Taste is very light, watery, hint of biscuit. Really is close to water.
3.4 Best beer in Central America.
2.6 25-11-19 // can. Nicaragua 🇳🇮 thanks G. for bringing this to Germany. - easy drinking lager but quite pleasant for a macro lager.
1.5 Cerveza ligera, de carbonatación, con un dedo de espuma de baja retención. Aromas débiles a granos. En boca es acuosa, insípida, casi inperceptible su nivel de alcohol.
2.2 Taste: slight bitter, grainy, some salty water notes, airy dry finish. Slight hops and fermented grains. Gold hue, clear some foamy head and small lace. Medium/light body. Thin.
2.4 Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Total Wine & More, Brentwood, MO. Appearance is clear, pale yellow with tons of effervescent sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is fairly weak wet cardboard, crackers, yeast, pilsner malts. Taste is as aroma without the wet cardboard. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with mild bitterness. Overall, weak aroma and flavor with expected profile consistent with pale lagers from hot-climate countries. Carbonation is too soft to be really refreshing.
