Toppling Goliath Sosus

Toppling Goliath Sosus

In his most notable mosaic work, Sosus of Pergamon depicts doves sunning atop a golden chalice. The image was said to be so enticing that real birds flew into it while trying to reach their stone companions. This single-hop showcase is inspired by the beauty of divinity of the Sosus mosaics. Just as the doves discovered their golden nectar, discover the irresistible nature of the Mosaic hop.

4.3 Pint can. Bright pineapple aroma with notes of mango, grapefruit, herbal and some pine resiny hops. Pours cloudy golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with juicy pineapple and mango hop flavors. Finishes dry, but still fairly smooth with dank grapefruit, herbal and some pine resiny hops. Well-balanced and quite good.
4.1 Lightly cloudy rich golden hue with a thin landing foamy head. Lovely aroma with notes of apricot and tropical fruity resins. Crisp bitter flavor loaded with floral tropical pine resin and light dankness with a backing full bodied lightly boozy pale malt.
4.0 Can watching game 7 of celts series. Orange pour nice big head. Nose is strawberry and pineapple and herbal. Tastes similar, doughy, peppery, fruits galore. Slick oily palate.
4.0 Crowler randomly found at PCB Beach Liquors killing time. Just a fantastic Hazy IPA. Lots of citrus pith, dank minerals/earth, lightly sweet malt and mild bitterness. Very easy drinking. Glad I checked the tap list!
4.0 Quarantine Beer #062 sampled at home on 04/14/2020. Hazy golden color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of herbal hop, tropical fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, grapefruit, melon and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering citrusy hop aftertaste. Good beer all around.
4.0 A hazed golden DIPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, treacle, dank, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with resinous floral hops, treacle, light alcohol, very nice and rich.
4.8 Juicy and not too bitter or strong
4.3 Pours hazy orange, small but firm and lasting head, good lacing. Besides its 3 months from canning, the hops feel very fresh and it hasn't sweetened up. Aroma is grassy and citrus, with stone fruits. Tastes moderately bitter, grassy, pine, resin, dank, and a lot of fruits. It gets the West and the East together, awesome. Medium bodied, smooth, sweet-ish finish. Excellent!
3.8 Refrigerated pint can from mansquito, canned March 16, 2020 poured into a glass. Translucent light orange with big white head. aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is citrus hops, herbal hops, and dryer finish.
4.0 Pours a hazy golden yellow with a soapy white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, passion fruit, and pineapple. Pineapple, melon flavor with tropical fruits. Excellent lacing. Really nice.
4.0 16oz can. Poured a cloudy golden color with an averaged sized head. Tropical fruits, citrus, pineapples, and melons.
4.2 Papaya, orange, biscuit malt, pine, and grapefruit peel aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with large white head. Moderately sweet lime, papaya, orange, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter pine and grapefruit peel flavor. Good body and great balance. Very nice.
3.9 16 ounce can. Hazy medium gold color. Finger high frothy beige head. Fragrant tropical citrus aroma. Pineapple, passion fruit and mango. Intense bittersweet tropical fruit flavor upfront. Notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange and mango. Some dankness and warming alcohol in finish. Very nice.
3.8 Cloudy golden yellow pour with an orange tint , thin white bubbly head and thin random bands of lacing .... aroma of pineapple, tropical and very natural juicy fruit ..... taste is the same, fleshy pineapple, very tropical and juicy but with bitter rindy dry hops on the backend and into on the finish .... bit one dimensional but mosaic hops stand alone well my themselves ..... sessionable and juicy, slick and a bit oily in the mouthfeel .... bitter dry hops linger quite a bit in the finish and the sugar is down on this one so it’s a keeper
4.7 Very hazy pour evocative of orange juice in terms of looks. The head was well proportioned at around two fingers thick. The aroma of hops was potent enough to smell without deliberately sniffing the contents of the pour. The smell was juicy and tropical, reminding me very much of rip mangoes. The taste was intensely tangy with notes of lime and grapefruit. There was a sweet malt backbone, and a long hop note in the finish. The beer was soft in texture, with enamel stripping, clingy, and mouth coating feel. Carbonation was above average, leading to some hop laden burps. This brewery in newly distributed here, and I had never heard of them or the beer. I picked a couple of their 4 packs based on high reviews. Looks like the reputation is well deserved.
4.3 Tallboy can from Savor Growl: yellow pour, big white head, lots of lacing. aroma is warm tropical fruits. tastes pineapple, apricot, little dank. juicy taste and palate. so well balanced. big and malty dipa vibe comes on late. soft palate. light bitter finish. great.
3.9 16oz can. Another fine Toppling IPA - no one as broad and consistent in the IPA game. Terrific.
3.7 Grapefruit and herb. Some orange peel. Hazy orange pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish with some booze and caramel. Bottle.
3.9 Hazy yellow orange, medium white head. Aroma hay and citrus. Medium body, bit of bite, no alcohol. Mildly bitter, juicy citrus fruit, malty creamy finish. Nice.
3.6 Shared bomber poured to snifters displaying a cloudy orange color, a presentable layer of soft white froth that reduced to a persistent ring, film, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was dank & ripe, citrus, orange, and tropical mango, with malty & fruity sweetness. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste was similar, with some pulpiness, and rind-like & earthy bitterness that lingered. Solid enough DIPA.
3.2 Bottle from Cask & Flask in San Jose, CA. Aroma is vegetal pineapple, tropical vines. Taste is chalky and vegetal with some tropical thickness. A bit too jungly without the fresh fruit. Honestly I found this beer overrated.
5.0 Very light but noticeable malt sweetness. Just enough that the hop bitterness isn’t overpowering. After that, it’s pure mosaic tropical fruit hop deliciousness. It’s the summer beer equivalent of Jesus pouring liquid heaven into my mouth.
4.0 Loads of mosaic indeed! Very nice hazy DIPA with a perfect balance between hops and spices, nice fruitbite
3.9 Can, a month in date. Very hazy orange with a loose white head. 3- Aroma of pineapple, crackers, fresh grass clippings, cooked passionfruit pulp. 7+ The texture is just a little chalky; moderate carbonation. Sweet and very fruity with grass/ herbal and white pepper notes just threatening to undermine the fruitiness. The tropical notes besides pineapple are more vibrant than suggested by the aroma. Bitterness struggles to cut through a bit and is then a little harsh when it arrives but that does emphasise the fruit and then provide a finish.
4.1 A definite fruitbite with a lot of hop and spices, that’s what I crave!
3.9 Can. Pours a hazy golden color a white head. Aroma of citrus, light fruit and floral. Taste of citrus, tropical fruits and light malt sweetness in the background. Nice bitterness and clean finish. Medium body, flavorful and juicy. Very enjoyable
4.1 Lata de 1 pinta US @ Zombier Club. Color amarillo intenso, espuma blanca abundante y con retención. Aspecto turbio. Aromas frutales (tropicales y melocotón) y herbales. En boca equilibrada, afrutada y también presencia del lúpulo. Balance perfecto. Final seco.
4.1 1 pint can, canned 02/14/19. Thanks to Werckmeister! Orange, hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, white head. Aroma of apricot juice, guava, lychee, dankness, some pine, biscuit, some cereals, some vanilla. Tastes pretty similar. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation. Finishes smooth, medium dry, moderate bitter, slightly warm, a bit juicy, citric, piney, cerealic, mineralic, fruity, a bit sweet, with some biscuit. Tasty! Perfectly balanced and smooth, with beautiful fruits, while also with an interesting biscuity, cerealic body. Drinks pretty fresh for the ABV. Outstanding DIPA! Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17
3.8 Can. Hazy dirty yellow body white head. Aroma is fruits mostly tropical malts. Taste is malts fruits pines. Aftertaste is nice balanced.
4.0 473ml can. Cloudy, yellow-ish, bright golden colour with average, fluffy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Intense, citrusy, slightly peppery spicy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest, some orange, a touch of yuzu, pale and crystal malty background. Taste is slightly dry, citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon balm, minimally peppery spicy hints of mint, subtle hints of tropical fruit, crystal and pale malty basis with subtle sweetness. Homogeneous, harmonious, very intense - very well balanced at the same time.
