4.0 473 ml can from the LCBO. Appearance: Pours a clear copper colour with over two fingers of white head. Good retention and lots of sticky lacing left behind. Aroma: Bit of malt and citrus. Flavours: Tons of caramel malt with a nice bit of grapefruit in the background. Mouthfeel: Creamy and smooth with lots of carbonation. Overall: A really nice Pale Ale with full throttle caramel malts and a bit of grapefruit to balance things. Well done!
3.1 Tallboy can from LCBO in Ottawa. Clear gold amber pour with minimal white head. Aroma is malty with some woodsy hops. Taste is very malty with some woody pine hops and crisp carbonation. Very bready malt. Not as much hoppiness as the label ("west coast ale") suggests. Not bad. Wouldn't get again.
3.0 500ml can. Clear dark golden body, medium white head, average to poor retention. Aroma is a bit dusty: honey, grains, flowers, lemongrass. Taste of fruits, grains, honey, metallic notes. Drinkable.
2.7 Pours golden. Mild aroma of slightly APA-ish hops. Tastes like a decent quality lager with a bit of extra hops. OK.
3.2 500 mL can. Clear amber pour, medium to tall off-white foaming head, though retention is not so good. Nice fruity aroma, some hops. Fairly well balanced brew overall.
3.0 50cl can, via trade, thanks Asheft.
2.9 Aroma is caramel, lemon grass, citrus and slight earthiness. Light tin smell from can. Taste is a light maltiness with a mostly bitter finish with some notes of pine needle and citrus. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.
3.0 Belle effervescence. Ronde. Sucré. Malté. Léger caramel. Céréale. Un peu florale. Légère.
3.3 Pours a clear golden-orange with a big lasting foamy white head. Nice mild aroma of citrus and floral hops along with a touch of fruit. Flavour of sweet malt with a nice hoppy finish. Medium bodied.
3.5 [can from LCBO] Somewhat creamy strawberry and pine aroma with some base malt and grass and hay. Crystal clear copper under a thin, white cover and lace. Sweet base malt flavour up front, followed by strawberry and bitter hay. Medium bitterness held up by a medium malty backbone. Medium body, moderate to medium carbonation. Smooth.
3.1 Golden with white head. Aroma of grass and hay. Light malt flavor. Fizzy and very drinkable.
4.1 Pours a clear amber with a massive creamy white head. Aroma includes notes of citrus, fruity esters, and butterscotch. The palate consists of lots of malt notes including include toffee, butterscotch, caramel. A slight bitter finish rounds out the beer. This is an excellent BPA! One of the best I have had in a while! Tree brewing impresses me every time I try a new product!
3.4 Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Coyotes in Banff, Alberta. Clear, golden amber with a 2-finger near-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of toast, peaches, citrus, floral hops, apples and pine. Taste of toast, peaches, floral hops, citrus and pine. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonization.
3.6 pours almost clear very pale golden with a nice white cap showing some retention and lacing. spicy C?s - peaches, oranges and apricots, citrus-infused black tea, lightly earthy and peppery, toasted maltiness - interesting malt bill/depth - doughy sourbread, acidity traces - welcoming. light carbonation, light body - oily; balanced lightly earthy-grassy-citrusy finish. tasty and nicely crafted english/american pale ale.
3.5 Can from the LCBO. Clear medium amber with a generous off white head. Nose is fruit and flowers with a generous helping of toffee and a bit of pine. Lightly sweet toffee and honey with a light bitterness and a hint of spice. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation. Well balanced.
2.4 ENG: 500ml can from Liquor Mart Winnipeg. Color is clear, light orange to amber with a nice tan head which disappears quickly. Aroma is very mild, even quite low. You can feel some delicate hop, a bit of bitter but mostly malts. After a while you can feel the sour smell. The taste is mostly light pine, a bit citrusy low "lagerish" sour bitter. Lemon aftertaste. This beer is quite average in terms of providing feelings. It’s kind of a beer that you drink when you’re thirsty. It’s easy drinkable, but that’s it. Don’t get me wrong - it’s not bad, but it also didn’t stunned me much. /////////////~~!~~!~~///////////// PL: Puszka 500ml zakupiona w sieci Liquor Mart w Winnipeg. Piana jasna, gęsta i drobna lecz szybko zanika. Aromat dość delikatny, nieco chmielowy lekko goryczkowy i słodkawy.
4.2 355 ml can from Tree Brewing’s winter sampler 12-pack from Sobeys Liquor, which has been picked to christen my MLP Doctor Whooves shaker pint glass. Pours a bright, clear, light coppery amber hue with low carbonation. Head has peaks of medium-sized bubbles in a very nice light shade of tan, and leaves trifoil-shaped lacing. A delightfully fresh bouquet of fruity and flowery hops greets my nose, with whiffs of pine and malt. The flavor begins with a nice menthol-like cooling sensation as I sip, then is lightly malty with a little citrusy tartness, and the hop aromas then blossom into full flavor that lingers just enough, ending cleanly. Mouthfeel is good, as is the body. It’s no hop bomb, but it has enough, in a good variety, in great balance. Delicious! Top me up, please! (As a side note, as a rank amateur taster, I really appreciate beer companies who list their beers’ composition and percentages/units/measures on the packaging, for my edification and entertainment.)
3.6 500ml can 5.0% ABV Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada) June 30, 2014 The beer pours a hazed rusty gold colour with a thin bubbly off-white cap. The aroma is very citrusy with background notes of herbs, caramel, and malt. The mounthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is citrusy hops, caramel, and some yeast notes. Quite refreshing for a hot day.
3.7 Clear golden hue, frothy head, medium bitterness. A standout ale that surpassed all expectations.
2.8 500ml can from the LCBO pours medium copper small head minimal lacing smells and tastes like a good macro beer just ok
2.7 Can @ AirBNB Arts Colony. Amber pour with a thin layer of white foam. Kind of watery and bready. A bit of seltzer and orange marmalade. Some floral and spicy hops. Maybe some peach. Flavor is also mostly just sweet malt. There’s a weird eatery quality that I guess is like peach candies. Water, bread, and some toast. Mild hop profile and little to no bitterness.
3.6 Pours a coppery orange, with both moderate head and lacing. Aromas of caramel malts, light citrus hops and bar-b-que chips. Tastes of caramel malts, slightly toasted, piney hops, with just a touch if bitterness on the swallow. Overall, a nice solid west coast ale, that is really quite enjoyable.
3.3 Golden orange with a white head. Malty aroma with some slight fruitiness and hops as well. Sweet malt and caramel flavour to it. Hints of citrus hop as well. Little bit of a bitter finish.
3.3 Deep yellow colour bordering amber. Light white head. Translucent throughout. Aroma of fresh dough. Taste is slightly bitter with notes of grass.
2.0 Very bitter pale ale with a clean and slighty dry finish. Slight sweetness and clear body.
3.1 500 mL can. Amber with a soapy head of off white. Nose is herbal and spicy, resinous hops with a hint of citrus, layers of grainy sweet malt, honey and a touch of toffee. Balanced on the sweet side, with just enough hopping to prevent it from getting cloying. Malt driven English style Pale Ale with American ingredients. A little generic but not bad. Moderate plus body and carbonation. Quite clean.
1.7 Not much smell from the can & light. From glass typical smelling west cost pale ale. Grassy bitter lemony maybe grapefruit also. Dark amber orange. Some carbination not alot. some head not a lot and some sticks around. Taste is bitterness from hops grassy lemony/grapefruity like maybe. Dry. Veary familiar beer. Like alot of other pale ales/IPA’s. Medium but a little heavy bodied. This beer is like others of the style. Doe’s NOT stand out on its own. Like a repeated beer. It’s fine but not what I would perfer thought. Cheer’s.
3.4 Clear copper in colour with a thin lasting white head, good lacing. The aroma is of caramel malts, some nuts and light hops. The flavour is more malty than hoppy, caramel and a light sweetness throughout. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a small hop bitterness and more caramel. A simple yet enjoyable pale ale. 500ml can from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Best before September 19, 2014.
