Trillium Congress Street IPA - Double Dry Hopped

Trillium Congress Street IPA - Double Dry Hopped

This amplified version of Congress Street IPA is a focused exhibition of the Galaxy Hop. Milky and yellow-orange in appearance, Double Dry Hopped Congress Street emits fragrant aromatics of mango, pine resin, grapefruit, pineapple, and peach. Explosive flavors of tropical fruit, grassy hop, nectarine, orange rind, and creamy malt inundate the palate with a thick, rich mouthfeel and soft, effervescent carbonation. The finish is full and oily, yet clean, with a light, modest bitterness.

3.9 47,3 cl can @ home, canned 28.1.2019. Thanks tiong! Aroma has tropical fruits, pineapple juice and grapefruit. Flavour has tropical fruits, grapefruit, some pineapple juice. Some mellow harsh bitternes occurs on some sips. Crisp and refreshing, one of the best NEIPAs I’ve had.
4.3 Canned 28/1/2019. Thanks Vastactiv! Pours hazy orange color. Balanced. Wow. Juicy with fruits, ripeness, grapefruits, citrus. Awesome drinkability. No hop burn, just smooth and some light bitterness. Amazing.
3.8 (Can, 0.473 l, thanks VastActiv, 20190215) The beer poured cloudy and yellow. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had pine, resin and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, citricness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Ugly looks but excellent taste and aroma. Balanced.
4.0 Draught at the Canton location: pours opaque murk with white head. Aroma is tropical fruit melange... taste is sweet with a dry and bitter finish. Soft body. Nice aftertaste.
4.0 473ml can from Trillium. Canned 01/27/18. Smooth, juicy fruity and floral hoppy with some pineapple, citrus and tropical notes. Smooth and juicy.
4.1 So I enjoy this beer like most people. But I just gotta say that the three most dominant flavor notes can be identified as yogurt-covered raisins, peach rings (the candy), and teriyaki-flavored beef jerky. Just really bizarre ipa that's ultimately very good but is much more unusual-tasting than you might see from the other reviews, even if you're used to these kind of beers like I am.
4.4 Very hazy pale color with off-white head. Aroma is dank, herbal, really green and hoppy. Taste follows, really hoppy and herbal, quite harsh, not very bitter but there is a hop burn. Medium body and carbonation. Really nice hop profile but at 2 weeks it's quite harsh on the palate.
3.8 Tasting at Ash's, can Murky pale blond colour. Dank and juicy, light sweetness, good body strength; hint of hazelnut aroma; a bit astringent in the finish, and a bit yeasty. Very strong hop juice.
3.9 Tall can (thx, Alex M.!) at Ash's with Jamey and Alex. Packaged 2018-09-07. Pours a cloudy peach color with a tan head. Aroma is a bit weedy, tooth paste freshness, juiciness, some fruits. Similar taste. Superdank. Good one.
3.8 (Tap) cloudy, yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of jam, tropical fruit; balanced flavour with mineral notes, long medium bitter finish
3.5 9/28/18 - Tallahassee, Fl - thanks to Dave at Proof for the share. Very similar to the regular Congress Street with a bit more refinement. Medium yellow pour, light off-white head. Very fragrant and apparent aroma with some rubbery accents, very organic and slightly skunky and cat-urine like. Flavor is full of tropical goodness, some strawberry to go along with the pineapple, sour back end, Creamy mouthfeel with a little bit more dryness to it.
4.0 Draught at brewery. A really super juicy juice with lots of orange and hops. Great.
3.8 Can pour. Aroma is slightly sweet and slight oats. Strong oat flavor - medium bodied. Medium bitterness. Pretty good but the oat, yeast and bitterness balance is a bit weird.
4.5 Once again many thanks to Andy for procuring this for me. Pours orange juice with small carbonation. Aroma is sweet juicy citrus orange hops and light cereal malt. Taste is lively citrus and big orange juicy hops that unload with medium bitterness. Awesome beer.
4.1 Very hazy opaque light orange color. Mango citrus hop aroma and flavor with a slight piney bitter finish. Full smooth bodied beer. Bitter and juicy at the same time. Balanced but still pretty bold. Juicy butvalso some bitter. Very nice.
4.1 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/11/2017. Pours opaquely hazy golden/orange/green color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very mild pine, herbal, grassy, zesty bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an outstanding NEIPA! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the very mildly bitter/drying finish. Outstanding soft feel for the style. Very juicy and lightly dank Galaxy hop complexity; balanced pale/wheat malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy for the style. Held up extremely well considering the can dating. I'm sure fresh would be mind blowing, as I had regular Congress Street a while ago. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
3.9 Can from the Boston shop. Pours opaque gold with a creamy white head. Tastes like resin, grapefruit hops, lemon, orange, biscuit malt, and grass. Medium body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like orange, grapefruit hops, lemon, and biscuit malt.
3.9 Can. Pours hazy blonde. Aroma and flavor are apricot, peach pale malt, wheat, smooth body, and soft bitterness. Medium body
4.2 Sample at Belgium Chimipalooza. Great tropical aroma with a touch of grass, medium sweet with lots of mango and pineapple, dry finish with herbal notes, amazing drinkability and balance.
3.9 Can. Murky yellow orange with lasting small loose head and lace. Grapefruit earthy aroma with some tropical fruit and grass and dough. Medium light grapefruit and grass and doughy sweetness with medium grapefruit earthy bitterness in bready body with fine carbo bite. Very good, but I'm already tired of the murky IPA fad. I almost wish I didn't live in New Eng.
4.0 Can, into a tulip glass. Pours hazy milky pale orange with thin foamy white head. Aroma is pine, fresh bright hops, mellow tangerine on the back. Taste is clean creamy body, light sweetness, big dank hops with piney and earthy finish. Some mango and citrus fill out the body, but the spicier hop notes dominate. This is a legitimately good/great? IPA, but the fact that this is #4 in the world right now kinda blows my mind. It’s not that. And Trillium makes 7 of the top 25 IPAs in the world? Something is amiss here. No disrespect to Trillium, they’re awesome and the beers speak for themselves, but that in no way accurately represents the quality and breadth of beers (IPAs specifically) that are being cranked out across the country right now.
4.2 Pours a hazy orange from a growler. Big citrus and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. Very good beer.
4.0 Pours a hazy caramel gold. Aroma is oranges with a mild dankness and spice from the hops. Taste is malty citrus sweet followed by a drying finish that has mostly hop flavor without bitterness. Very smooth full mouthfeel with orange juice that lingers well after the taste has finished
4.2 Tap at Trillium Canton, Boston. Color is very cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, tropical fruits, hops and malts. Super-fruity and phenomenal drinkability.
4.6 16oz can. Hazy orange body. Frothy off-white head. Wow. Another World Class IPA from Trillium. Big, juicy Galaxy tones, but also balanced out by the Columbus. The body is perfect, just a hint of that floury wheat tone. Very drinkable stuff. Tropical juice tones, but retains balance and class. Style defining stuff. World Class.
4.0 16 ounce can. Pours a hazy light gold with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. Taste is pineapple, orange, mango, grapefruit, malt, and a bit of pine. Excellent.
3.6 On tap @ Trillium. Pour is hazy yellow/orange with a small white head. Notes of wood, spice, dry hops, tropical fruit, and pine. Finish is hoppy and dry.
4.1 At tasting. Aroma of veggie mosaic, pineapple, mango, citrus, tropical fruit and biscuity malt. Taste has juicy pineapple, mango, citrus, crispy malt, grassy bitters and more tropical fruit. Delicious.
4.6 A hazy orange look and citrusy nose with some honeydew melon included. Tastes include orange and other citrus along with a honeydew melon and maybe apricot component. Grapefruit comes in lightly on the finish. A delicious beer and one of our Trillium favorites.
4.2 Pours murky yellow with low white head. Aroma of pine, passion fruit, mango, papaya. Taste is fruity sweet with a mild bitter finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.
