Trillium Scaled

Trillium Scaled

Scaled is the first IPA brewed and packaged at our Canton, MA facility. In the Spring of 2018, we implemented recent learnings from our Permutation program to breathe new life into this milestone beer. The newly developed fermentation profile and grist coupled with foundational elements from a larger hop charge of legacy hop varieties take this IPA to the next level! El Dorado, Citra, and Columbus hops create an aromatic blast of juicy mango, pineapple, and lemon candies. Pineapple, sweet orange and pink grapefruit flesh follow on a medium bodied palate that finishes with a soft, mild to moderate bitterness.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, Flaked Wheat, Dextrine, C-15

4.5 Can. From Zombier. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 5. Peculiar floral profile, with a strong bitterness, dry beginning and some sweetness in the end. Not the typical neipa and fairly repetable
4.1 Straight from can. Aroma has bittersweet orange rind marmalade, apricot skin and some hop resin. Taste follows with stonefruits, mango and tangerines with a light resiny bitterness on the finish. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Really well made, tasty IPA with a dry finish.
4.1 Mango, pineapple, cereal, citrus and pine in nose. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Taste is medium dry, very fruit forward with mango, pineapple and citrus followed by cereal and pine. Low to medium bitter finish, soft carbo. Overall excellent.
3.7 Can from the shop in Boston. Cloudy gold orange colour lasting white head. Big dry hopped aroma. No dankness. Some rather lovely tangerine flavours. Some citra hop. Yep pretty good citrus juice ipa. Liked it. No bitterness on the finish.
4.6 Appearance: yellow cloudy aroma: hoppy mild taste: reminiscent of a treehouse IPA, slight aftertaste, hop bitterness, very little to no floral taste
3.8 Can. Pours a cloudy orange hue with a large white head. A nice tropical nose. The flavor is luplin powder, tropical. Toast. Solid.
3.9 Can courtesy of Lardo Rick. Colour...slightly hazy dark gold with a huge white head. Nose...fleshy orchard fruits and kiwi skin with gooseberry. Palate... plush, crisp and pippy with fleshy lemon pith and pulp and gripping tight-ness. The mid palate is very dry and tight and the finish is much the same.
3.9 Can. Pours a deep hazy orange with a fading fluffy off white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, mango, passionfruit, citrus. Taste is of orange, floral, grassy, exotic fruits, mango, pineapple. Oily mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation.

4.0 Pours hazy golden with a white head. Citrus and tropical fruit aroma. Flavor is tropical fruit, mango, and grapefruit with mineral notes and a grapefruit zest finish.
4.1 Where: A gift enjoyed at a tasting event, thanks Maxbier and dlovell2 and Steve. How: Big can. Aroma is sweet, citrus and grapefruit, bright and lively. Taste is of mango, papaya and citrus. A touch of grassy hop bitterness is just perceivable in the middle and end with a light bark covered by layers and layers of tropical fruit on the finish. Body is light with good carbonation. Palate is prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down crisp and refreshing. Super drinkable and smooth. Another gift from Dan, bravo!
3.0 Tap @ Himmeriget. Murky yellow orange, good head. Biscuit grain aroma. Resin biscuit flavour. Sour aftertaste. This is vastly overrated.
3.7 Keg at Beavertown; hazy yellow pour with a thin white head, aroma has big pineapple, taste has dirty malts, some pine, pleasant bitterness.
4.3 Canette 473ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur jus d’orange trouble, mousse blanc cassé. Arôme de pamplemousse blanc, houblon résineux, malt pâle, pointe de cannabis, légèrement vanillé. Goût de houblon résineux, pomélo, malt, amertume moyenne-élevée, sucre léger. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-dense, légèrement collant.
3.7 Draft. An unclear yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of hops, straw, malt, and exotic fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, and burning hops, leading an extremely bitter finish.
3.8 Citrus fruits, sweet orange, light tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, papaya, melon. Hazy, pale gold, small, creamy, white head. More citrus and tropical fruits, bitter orange, mango, tangerine, pine, sweet grain malts, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Beautiful IPA, rich fruits in aroma, complex, well-balanced. Keg at Beavertown brewery, Tottenham Hale.
3.5 Keg at the Beavertown Trillium Tap Takeover. Murky golden yellow, almost no head. Lemon meringue aroma with coconut and mango notes. Sweet taste with a nice hoppy bitter finish with an underripe passion fruit aftertaste. Full creamy body. A very competent and tasty IPA.
4.1 Pours a light hazy yellow with a small white head. The aroma has sweet, mild pineapple and mango juice and maybe just a hint of dank stanky hop. The taste is beautiful with sweet hop juices bouncing around the mouth. Getting only lightly bitter in the aftertaste. Ultra quaffable and a perfect beer for drinking in the sun in front of Himmeriget.
4.0 (On tap @ Himmeriget, Copenhagen, July 5/17) Pours a quite hazy pale orange colour with a tight white head. Notes of grapefruit and orange peel and pith, pineapple, mango, pine, light weed. Lightly sweet initially but transitions to a bone dry finish that is moderately bitter, the sweeter fruit notes giving way to pith, mango peel, unripe pineapple and earthy pine. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Very solid, I would prefer slightly lower bitterness but that’s a relatively minor quibble.
3.9 Tap@HImmeriget, Copenhagen - Orange coloured pour with white head. A pleasing plethora of tropical and citrus fruity notes, some pineapple, lemon citrus wash, sweet malty support, pine needles, hoppy finish.
3.7 Drauhjt at Himmeriget. Hazy golden colored with a small white head. Fruity aroma of hops, pine needles and citrus. Fruity flavor pf hops, caramel, hops and citrus. Hoppy finish.

4.0 Can. Haze train is strong. Hazy yellow with a small head. Aroma has juicy tropical fruits, slight grapefruit and pine. Very dry mouthfeel, with mediyum bitterness in the finish. One of the more dry Trillium offerings I have had. Not as creamy as the rest of them. Stellar though
4.1 Pours a light orange-peach color, with middling head. Aroma includes some citrus and tropical fruits, as well as some hop dankness and pine. Flavors include citrus and tropical fruit, and a slight sweetness from the malt. Soft mouthfeel and smooth, dry finish.
