Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

4.5 Gylden orange lækker flammeglød i farven og tæt højt hvidt skum. Fantastisk syrlig-sød tæt mandarinskal duft, der også går igen i den syrlig-søde meget fyldige smag. Nuancerne udbygges af noter af grønne umodne hvedekerner, nøddeagtig havresødme, masser af malt, citrus, lidt karamel og koriander. Eftersmagen er lang fyldig, let syrlig velafbalanceret og runder alle smagsindtryk fint af.
5.0 Servida en tulipa, color dorado, abundante y cremosa corona de espuma. Aroma delicioso y bastante complejo a Levadura belga, pan, cereales, plátano, naranja, floral... es una cerveza que se disfruta tanto por la nariz como por la boca. Cuerpo ligero, textura suave, aterciopelada, tonos cítricos, malta, cereales...ligeramente ácida, perfectamente equilibrada, evoluciona a tonos más dulces tanto en boca como en nariz a lo largo de la cata. Excelente cerveza, imprescindible probar.

2.2 Das Karmeliet Tripel hat keine Zutatenliste in einer Sprache, die ich verstehe, deshalb kann ich nur Zucker und Gewürze raten. Der Geruch deutet auf Koriander und Orange hin, jedoch sehr schön ausgeführt und nicht stechend. Die Krone ist mittelporig und üppig bei mittlerer Standfestigkeit. Die Farbe ist goldgelb trüb. Beim Antrunk seifiges Mundgefühl bei trockenem Gesamteindruck. Orange und Koriander geben hier den Ton an und das Bieraroma ist leider überdeckt. Kohlensäure ist sehr intensiv und für mich auch störend. Hierurch ist der Alkohol gut verbaut. Beim Abgang kommt die Orange noch stärker hervor, die auch am Gaume kleben bleibt. Ein Tripel, das die Merkmale des Bierstils so stark betont, dass kaum mehr von einem Bier zu reden ist. Für mivh eines der schwächsten Tripel. 10-2020
3.9 Tap at Nomad. 1 dollar! Peppery banana touched aroma. Deep yeast tone. Soft, pillowy body. Mineral faint hop balance. Really mellow and creamy, the body makes it work as compared to brewpub US examples which fully miss that facet. Really nice on tap, different experience.

3.8 Blonde pour with lemon hues. Massive white foam head. Visible sediments swirling. Aroma of banana and lemon. Hints of clove and candied fruits. Good fruity flavor with moderate sourness. More banana. Well-balanced, full-bodied and satisfying. The earthy grains give it a nice, signature taste. Further sipping unveils robust coriander and orange peel notes, similar to a witbier. Warming. The bottle states the recipe is from the 17th century which is amazing in itself. I wonder how much it has been tweaked to satisfy modern consumers. I’m rating it slightly lower than the median average due to redundancy and over-saturation within this style. Nevertheless, it’s a solid tripel that will unquestionably quench your thirst.

2.7 Pours a very hazy dark golden with a not too big (especially per style), compact white head, which doesn't show much retention and most of all no lacing. Smell is mostly a mix of sirupy/sugary sweetness and yeasty notes (dough), with a background of fruitiness (peach most prominent, lighter pear) and slight hints of spiciness. Quite vivid, but not very refined. Taste is worst. Very strong sugary/sirupy sweetness upfront, a background of fruitiness (banana, peach, pear) and nothing else. Very sweet in both taste and aftertaste, barely saved from cloyingness by alcohol attenuation. Medium to dense body, medium or slightly above medium carbonation, possibly a bit lower than style average. Aims for a softer mouthfeel than most tripels, feels ok at that but gets maybe a bit too sticky. Overall still drinkable, but far from quality stuff.

3.8 750 ml bottle. Golden colour, big head with good durability, fair lacing, strong carbonation. Nose is yeast, grain, notes from green apple. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter, dominant malty, yeast, banana, warming alcohol. Perfect mouthfeel, long finish. Pretty good!

Aromat: Średnio lotny, zbalansowany. Delikatnie przed szereg wysuwają się bananowe estry z nutą brzoskwini na średnim poziomie. Tuż za nimi średnie pieprzowe, lekko goździkowe fenole podbijane przez ziemisto – korzenny chmiel oraz surowo kłosową, ostrą pszeniczność wraz z nutą chlebową. Smak: Start jest słodko estrowy, głównie bananowy z nutami brzoskwini na średnim poziomie, dodatkowo wzmacniany przez delikatną chlebową słodowość. Później słodkość estrowo - słodowa balansowana jest pieprzowymi, lekko goździkowymi fenolami na podobnym poziomie oraz niskim korzennym, delikatnie ziemistym chmielem i ostrością pszenicznego kłosa. W ustach wytrawne, treściwość średnioniska, wysycenie średnowysokie. Goryczka niziutka, znikoma, korzenna. Finisz wytrawny z nutami mariażu banana, pszenicy, pieprzu i korzeni.
4.0 Clear yellow with great white head. Smell of malt, yeast and "rain on a summer day". Taste of malt, wheat, flowers, honey, banana, yeast. Very smooth and with a nice aftertaste. Tasted with Niels at home and bought in Jura, France.

4.3 Great belgie this. Readily available now in the big UK supermarkets for £5 a wine bottles worth. Great session any time of the year. I find this delightfully easy drinking yet complex. Even in the Premier Belgian beer field this has a lot going on and time is needed. Smell and taste are twinning. A soup of malt! Yet cutting through this are some clean floral hops. Bitterness takes over at the right moment. Then finishing with bananas on the BBQ, honey, mint, fresh soaked aniseed, butter, lemon. It's so warming yet so refreshing. The carbonation is really dialled up which encourages sipping. Not a bad thing for this beer. Cracking.
3.6 Golden pour with a hint of haze - big white head. Aromas of grain/oats, some caramel and spices - similar for the tase. Quite nice, but could have stronger flavours for a tripel.
