3.5 A great summer beer. Light, refreshing and tasty. Just enough hope for a bit of flavor and bittering, but very well balanced. It won’t blow your sock off, but not every good beer will.
3.5 Copper color; nice white head. Good ,balanced beer for everyday. Malt , grass and citrus in aroma . Taste follows . Moderate bitterness in aftertaste.
3.7 Pours a clear slightly amber gold with a foamy white head. Smells of crystal malt, spruce hops. Taste is bitter and sweet balanced - spruce and peach pit hops against a clear honey malt.
3.3 Bottle. Taste is a mixture of hops, malt, citrus, pine and wood. Solid beer, especially for a pale ale.
3.3 bottle poured into a tumbler..copper with a fluffy white head..resinous,piney,grassy..tastes like it smells.
3.3 Aromacaramel, cereal, Appearance clear, frothy, Taste light sweetness, Palate medium body, average carbonation, Overall I would suggest this beer to a friend
3.5 Pinkish, light amber, clear. Light to medium body, moderate flavor, silky texture, low heat, rich mouthfeel, short length, auster finish. Bitter, dry, bright acidity. Very hoppy, herby, malty, a hint of mint. Ok, had better in the style.
3.4 Pours a transparent amber, almost like a dark apple juice, from a bottle. Quickly dissipating head with large bubbles. Aroma starts with a touch of grass, then settles into the classic piney hops. Flavor is a little bland, somewhat bitter, a little malt but not much, but a well-balanced beer and a good representative of pale ales.
3.7 Light, smooth, and crisp. A tasty blend of hops that doesn't overpower the pallet and as an added bonus a pretty 👌 smell
3.5 12 oz, bottle from craft 12 pack. Nice hop content. A little long on the palate. But still very drinkable.
3.6 Very good beer. Very fresh. Good mix of hops and malts. One of the better beers I’ve had in a while. Would definitely buy again
3.6 bottle, from the Glass Jug. Bottle 08/07 then is smudged, good aroma, sweet. citrus and grass. clean golden orange color, small head that faded quick, no lace. Bitter sweet flavor. medium body, light creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish. Pretty nice, flavor my favorite part. finish has a nice bite about it.KInd of surprised I hadn’t had this by now, but will put this on the recommeded pale ale list
4.0 Bottle. Caramel color with hint of orange. Thick, off-white head; ample lacing. Hoppy aroma with pine and citrus. Refreshing malt up front with strong hop presence. Pine and citrus hoppiness with slight resin finish. Excellent pale ale.
4.2 BOD 8/17/14. Clear light amber pour that is slightly darker than golden. Very nice head with normal lacing and retention. Light nose of citric and floral hops over a light biscuit. Light medium bodied with an almost slick texture. Perfectly carbonated with an exceptional effervescent finish. The flavor profile is exceptional - intense, balanced, clean and somewhat complex. It begins with a wave of blended hop flavor (pine, citric and a touch of spice) over a light biscuit background. The middle is a medium bitterness that is mostly pine, but also has grapefruit rind aspects, which fades into a very light caramel. The finish is quite effervescent and yields a nice dryness. A mild bitterness lingers that has a bit of pepper and caramel sweetness. An outstanding Pale Ale.
3.9 It has a light golden honey color with good clarity. On top is a just off white head which slowly fades from an inch thick cap to a wispy thin film covering. The aroma has a sweet bready, almost honey like maltiness with a touch of leafy herbal hops. Flavor wise it is very close to the nose with a firm medium body of bready sweet and light caramel/honey maltiness with a light touch of herbal hop bitterness. Its easy drinking and smooth on the plate.
3.8 Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Crisp, hoppy, citrusy, slight grassy, bitter aromas. Balanced, hoppy, citrus, resiny flavors. Very crisp, balanced, refreshing, and drinkable. One of the better pale ales I’ve had in awhile.
3.6 Pours a sharp and clean straw gold with two fingers of sticky off white head. Nice aroma with a grassy hop note and light biscuity malt backing. A touch of citrusy hops shows as well. Very clean and pleasant in the flavor with a dry and zesty bitterness. Citrus rind and grassy hops with a touch of bitterness on the finish. Very nice and refreshing.
4.5 Tap sampler at Troegs in Hershey, PA. Overall very pleasant, but the hop punch is overdone. Very crisp.
4.0 A nice golden straw color that is clear and with avg. carbo’s.A white foam cap that fades to a ring around the edge of the glass. A good hoppy aroma greets you followed by a bready malt aroma. A balanced beer with neither malt or hop winning out. Just enought malt with a sweet bready taste and just enought hops to hold up the malts. Hops are slightly citrusy in taste. A nice refreshing beer one could drink on a regular basis. It is also a good crossover beer for drinkers of those other beers. A good fresh tasting, balanced, filling, beer
3.0 Initial taste is surprisingly sweet, probably from the malt, which provides a mild blonde caramel flavor throughout. The hops come in as the beer warms a bit, balancing the sugar. Good, but not incredible, and a bit sweet overall.
2.9 translucent copper, thin oily cap with white ring and good lacing. Heavy newspaper nose, oily pine bitterness with soft dough elements. Playdoh and moderate plastic front palate, piney earth is wet, dank with juicy nectarine mid, lightly buttery dough near end with low acid, low bitterness, dusty with faint metallicity through thin bodied fizzy finish.
3.1 From bottle. Light amber color, faint aroma of fresh grass and pine. Evident hops flavors though balanced and not overpowering. Long dry finish. Overall a refreshing if not especially remarkable pale ale,
3.4 Light aroma from bottle. Slight pear. Tiny bitter, slight pine, slight citrus. Unremarkable pale ale, but easy drinking. 7, 4, 7, 3, 13
3.8 Reviewed from notes. I’ve had this on tap more than enough times when I go back to visit my family in PA. Into a pint glass every time. Remember its just an APA, no need to over do things, folks. The appearance is a nice light golden yellow to almost orange color with a decent level half fingered white foamy head that ends up leaving some light stringy lacing sticking finely to the sides of the glass. The smell had nice citrus based hops invading my nose with a decent maltiness backing that up. The taste was a pure bittersweetness that allocates itself well on my tastebuds and ends up leading into a nice citrus sweet aftertaste. There is a quick dry finish. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and was fairly sessionable. The carbonation showed a decent harshness about it. Overall, I say this was a great APA well worthy of having again and have always loved it with a big bacon cheeseburger.
3.1 From BA review on 2-2-12 - Served in a pint glass Appearance – An orange/amber color mix with a very light head. The thin white head faded leaving very little lacing. Smell – The aroma was pretty mild, but some citrus hoppines mixed with an ever so slight bit of biscuit maltiness was detected. Taste – Mostly citrusy grapefruit bitterness at the forefront. A little bit of caramel and roasted malt sweetness then comes into the taste profile. Nothing is off in the taste, but nothing is really too potent or enticing either. Just a bit above the norm. Mouthfeel – A little thin on the body with a nice level of carbonation for the style. Overall – A very standard brew through and through. Nothing bad, but nothing too exceptional either.
3.7 Draft at brewery tap room. Pours golden with 2 inches of white foam. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Fairly big hop notes on the tongue. Pretty leafy on the tongue as well with a nice amount of bitterness. Finishes fairly clean. I’d much rather have this than one of their session IPA’s.
3.7 A strange kind of APA. Very strong for a style. Full bodied. Havy on alcohol. Reminds more of a Abbey Tripel than the APA. Very fruity, oily texture. Appricot. Nice beer.
3.3 12oz bottle. A pretty cool, outdated example of an APA. Not a new-school tropical session beer, more classic in its hefty malt bill. Piny, crisp NW hops. Sort of hard to believe this beer is only 5.4%, comes off much bigger. Sort of a dinosaur as I drink it. Oily hop tastes. I don’t know about this one. Bold and well brewed, but no one wants heavy crystal malt in their APA anymore.
3.1 Draft in a plastic cup at TD Garden, Boston, MA before a Bruins Game. 5 April, 14 vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. Aroma is honey and floral hop presence. Malt is sweet biscuit, bread and honey balanced by crisp floral hops. Main base of the brew is grainy. The palate was medium to light bodied with a crisp texture floral after bite. Drying texture. After the first cup I was ready for another. Very easy to session this. Easy drinking and simple.
3.3 Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Pours golden yellow with a nice head, aroma of hops, tropical fruits, floral tones, flavor is bitter and fresh with melon, light acidity, herbal tones, medium bodied
