Troubadour Magma

Troubadour Magma

Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

3.8 Pours almost clear blonde/orqnge with a thin white moussy head. Aroma of citrussy hops with later on the typical banana tripel.”Belgian Tripel-India Pale Ale” it says on the label and that is a perfect description. An unusual combo that is really crafted well and works like a charm. Future classic? Must buy more bottles...
4.1 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£3.79): Light amber & quite bright with a massive, foamy white head about 2 inches tall that looks quite thick & has excellent retention, particularly for an 9% beer. Pepper, light spice & faint floral touches initially, there's a little citrus & grapefruit too with caramel malts & a subtle sweetness further on; balanced but light on the nose. The taste is more floral with a strong sweetness backing it up, grapefruit, orange zest & some light tropical flavours, pineapple & apricot mainly then a bit of spice at the end. It's quite boozy & warming with full body with some sugars & a pretty nice balance too.
3.3 Aroma; tropical fruits, malt stuff, yeast, weed and hops. Look; off-white big head on near clear amber body. Taste; tropical fruits, thick hops, weed, herbs, apricots, peel, malts, and finishes quite balanced. Feel; allright body n co². Overall; I'm always sceptic to dipa, not my cup really, but this was okay. [bottle, b@ some shop with beverages (Vinmonopolet maybe), some months ago, T@apartment of PivotekaH7 while waiting for new RBsessions]
3.6 I love hoppy IPA, this one is a little over the Top. Restrained nose, only hint's of Fruit and Lots of hops.
4.0 Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Orange pour with good head. Malt, brown sugar, spice, some tobacco, peach. Full body, good and complex beer.
3.7 Light amber. Large head with high retention. Aroma intensity 3.75/5. Peach, flowers and cooked vegetables aroma, notes of grass. Heavy sweet. Medium body
3.5 Bottle @ home w senior. Appearance: pours cloudy amber with ok soapy tan head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, brown sugar, light citrus, fruity, oranges, light spicy, light tropical and grassy notes. palette: strong yeasty aroma, average carbonation, medium to full body, medium to notable sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration, light bitter finish and a watery texture. Overall: tasteful yeasty Belgian IPA
2.9 Bottle in a trade with tfontana. Color is brown with a orange hint. Aroma is all Belgian yeast with maybe toffee. I can’t find any hops at all. Even as it warms no hops. Belgian yeast, toffee, toasted grain. Alcohol massively noticed. If you’re looking for an IPA you’re not gonna get it here. Not a enjoyable hybrid for me. Hard forcing this down.
3.6 Bottle pour from Harvest Market, Bedford. Appearance is clear dark amber with nice sparkle, finger-width creamy beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is caramel and dark fruit, tart fruit. Taste follows aroma but no real tart contribution. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, nice alcohol warmth and finish as taste with lasting dry European hop bitterness. Overall, this is really misclassified. They got cute trying to tie the bittering of the IPA in here, but this is a Triple/Tripel. Anyone looking for an American DIPA will be truly disappointed. Having said that, it looks great, aroma and taste are strong; a bit thin.
3.9 Zwischen Kwak und Chouffe
3.9 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky orange colour with a medium to large foamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, floral and a little spice. Taste is more citrus and tropical fruit with notes of orange zest and peppery spice. Medium bodied with an oily mouthfeel and a long dry, bitter, citrus hop and spicy finish. Very nice
4.2 Super lekker genietbier
3.8 Orange hazy with a frothy head. Hoppy smell of mango and passion fruit. Fruity taste with an ashy ending.
4.4 Part of the LCBO 2018 Spring Beer Program, mix of two great styles, IPA and triple. This mix was perfectly done, rich beer with the hoppiness of the IPA and the smoothness/velvety of the Belgian triple. Wow!
3.8 I had a walk to buy beer and some other stuff, and just returned home, this will be my first victim. Smell- medium strong and even to strong (as I can feel it away from glass/bottle), hops, citrus, caramel, yeast, Belgian notes all over, sweetness. Nice. Foam- thin to medium, soft, quite intense hit of hops and bittersweetness and then alcohol. Head is large, creamy white with an orange tint. Sticks. Appearance-unique brewer bottle cap with a nice coat of arms, bottle itself simple. Hazy orange-amber, some carbonation, maybe medium. From - Snifter Taste - caramel, citrus, malt, then hops, yeast, Belgian notes, and alcohol. Some sweetness, caramel, malt, hops in next hit. The aftertaste seems to be malt, hops, caramel, Belgian notes, and alcohol. Very good one, I like it, the general balance of it. I don't usually like hoppy beers, but this is mixed all right.
3.8 bottle: decants a clouded amber ale in the glass with a 1 finger white cap that lasts...aromas of succulent fruits, floral, spices over light malt sweetness and light mustiness....sharp effervescent mouth feel...flavor is fruity, earthy, spicy with balanced bitterness and Belgian yeast funk....finishes wet and peppery with light bittering above a honey-like malt dextrose ... very decent for a triple
4.2 Lekker fris.
Goed biertje
3.8 Barwa bursztynowa, klarowne. Piana obfita, gęsta i trwała, drobnopęcherzykowa. Aromat raczej lekki, wyczuwam dojrzałe owoce, mokre zboże. W smaku dużo lepiej. Jest trochę belgijskich nut drożdży, brzoskwiń, fenoli. Oprócz tego oczywiście owoce, na finiszu słód. Słodkie, ale nieprzesadnie, sporo ciała, wysycenie średnio-wysokie, goryczka średnia. Dobre piwo.
2.8 Pours cloudy slightly dark brownish yellow with a small beige head. Aroma is malty, bitter hops with some residue sweetness. Taste is light bitterness, sweet malt and light earthy and citrus hops.
4.0 Pours dark orange, white to tan head. Aroma breads, stewed fruit, some brown sugar. Taste is sweet, but with Belgian yeast
3.2 amber with orange head. light pine hops. not really an ipa. medium belgiN character, pepperiness. sweet malts involved. quaffable some high alcohols. good
4.5 we find that it is on the nose or mouth what is announced by the brewer. an APA, triple Belgian fruity (exotic, mango) with well-controlled bitterness, excellent!
3.4 Bottle. Pours a dark orange colour with a tight white head, light hop aroma with some fruit, the taste is medium bitterness and with a dry bitter finish.
3.9 Mango and peach, powerful symphony of apricot, marmalade and bisquits. Very easyly drinkable for such a strong beer
3.5 Hmmm supper
