3.5 Great for a 9% beer. Pine hop aroma slightly hazy pour with lingering head. Good biscuit malts, pine and tropical fruits long finish.
3.4 (500ml bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of resiny pine, grass, and grapefruit. Flavor of pine, earth, grass, florals, and herbs with a dry finish
4.8 A very good dipa. You don’t realise you are drinking a 9% beer. Gorgeous hop flavours and it’s in a 500ml bottle. Well worth the price tag
3.6 500 ml bottle. BB 30/08/17. Thanks Kiwi-Timo! Clear golden color with a tiny grayish white head. Sweet fruitiness, hops, alcohol and some hop oily notes in the aroma. The flavor is strong bitterness, hops, dryness and some age.
4.0 On tap. Amber color, clear liquid, white head. Aroma of bread is dominant. Taste is medium bitter, light medium sweet. Alcohol is completely hidden. Dangerous stuff.
4.1 Pungent thick and chrystalline, this super potent slightly sappy super bitter Imperial IPA is everything I could ever want in a beer of this style. Amazing.
4.1 500ml bottle. Pours cloudy orange, with plenty of head. Aroma is sickly sweet pineapple and peach under a lot of resinous hops. Flavour is absolutely gigantic, with some biscuit for a millisecond or so before there’s an almighty explosion of hops. Pine and resin are big but no match for all the fruitiness. Pineapple, peach, lemon, even some apple. The bitterness is extreme, with the tongue left tingling, but all the fruitiness makes it surprisingly refreshing. Gorgeous.
4.0 50cl bottle at home from De bierbrigadier, Eindhoven. Nose is fruity, honey. Body is clear orange, head is medium, offwhite, frothy, average lasting, good lacing. Aroma is tropical fruits, grapefruit, honey, herbs, tea, leaves, tons of hops. Medium sweet, medium bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is long lasting hoppy heavy bitter. Full body, slick slightly sticky texture, soft carbonation. Bit heavy due to heavy bitter, strong flavor a bit overhopped, nice one, best bottle I’ve ever seen.
3.2 Tap at Evening Star, Brighton. Dark hazy amber color, good creamy off-white head. Riped tropical fruits and alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Riped pineapple, peach and then citrus. Hop oily. Sweetish aftertaste. Quite heavy, even glueish.
3.6 [8269-20160515] 500mL bottle. Grainy biscuit and leafy floral peat aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Grainy boozy orange wood flavour. Medium-full body. Good but boozy. (7/3/7/4/15) 3.6
3.7 2016-05-15. Hazy orange body with a nice foamy off white head. 3++ Aroma of doughy biscuity malt. Muted hops. Flavour is hoppy, good amount of bitterness up front, moderate fruit blends with a fair bit of resinous hops. Muddled citrus has notes of pithy grapefruit seed and sweet lemon. Fruit grows as it warms but malt and moderate alcohol dominate over it. 7+ Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation.3+ decent. 7/4/7/3/16+ Bottle from Henry’s, Queenstown, NZ.
4.0 500ml bottle. Soon as this is open I can smell citrusy goodness. Pour is pretty special with a mega looking head. Golden smoky appearance. Taste is citrus with malty tones. This is a super fresh find. Just arrived at the bottle shop. Gets my vote.
3.7 Keg at The Hanging Bat. Murky amber body with a thick white head. Good lacing. Aroma of caramel and vine tomatoes. Flavour of grapefruit, melon, toffee and peppery hop spice with a bold, bitter finish. Medium to full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s not particularly clean (this was the end of the keg, to be fair) but it’s absolutely loaded with hops and I like that.
3.9 Pours clear orange amber with a finger of white head. Aroma of resin, peach, apricot, lemon, nectarines, light caramel. Taste is mild fruit sweet before a resin bitter finish. Somewhat funky but enjoyable. Medium bodied and smooth with soft carbonation.
3.5 Keg at the Queens Head, St Pancras, 21/04/16. Golden orange with a decent off White head that retains well. Nose is a touch farty, bitter orange, light pine, toasted bread, juicy citric peel. Taste comprises caramel, pine needle, sticky tropicana, light mineral notes. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Ok DIPA.
3.8 A superb aroma of citrus, grapefruit and hops, pours a clear dark Amber color with a lasting white head with nice lacing. A fruity taste, apricot, grapefruit and hops. A medium body slightly oily feel with a bitter slightly chalky finish.
4.2 A super-hoppy sensation! Surprisingly palatable once you get over the initial massive hit of hops. A lovely complex flavour. A winner
3.6 Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours slightly hazy amber. Nose is resinous hops, sweet caramel, fruits. Tastes citrus, resinous hops, fruits, light booze.
3.5 Keg at the hanging bat. Pours hazy orange, nose is sweet toffee, pine, grapefruit, minty, taste is similar, chewy.
3.5 Keg at the hanging bat... Golden amber... Thin white lacing... Soft sweet fruits... Light soft fruits.. Juicy fruits.. Caramel fruits.. Juicy fruits
3.5 Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours hazy golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of resin, pine. Taste is bitter, caramel . Oily texture, bitter finish.
3.4 0,5l bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. Sticker from the importer says BB 30/06/2016. BB from the brewery (tiny stamp on the bottle neck) says 03/02/2016. amber quite hazy color, small white head. smells of pines, sweetness, some sweet herbs, citric notes, exotic fruits. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, some lemon grass, also rather watery, no pines, bit of resin. lightly bitter with notes of resin and some citric notes. lovely smell, but taste is way too simple. bit of a cheat really that the bottle has two bb-dates.
3.7 500 ml bottle from BeerLovers Vienna, bb 03/02/2016. Amber-orange, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, orange, citrus, pine, some lychee and some more tropical fruits. Tastes of pine, citrus, orange, some passion fruit, biscuit, some honey. Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes bitter, dry, piney, zesty, a bit alcohol warming, fruity, a bit sweet malty. Very nice. Not so fresh anymore, but still with some nice piney notes and subtle tropical fruits. Alcohol is noticeable, but drinks quite smooth, with a very good balance. Enjoyable DIPA, but this is propably much better when fresh.
4.1 Bottle. A bit lively on opening. Lovely orange appearance. Fruitiness and hops hit you instantly then bitterness creeps in. An in your face, unsubtle double IPA that is quite lovely.
2.5 500ml bottle, from the Wine Seller, Wolverhampton, courtesy of Simon F. Pours hazy orange with good white head. Aroma is tropical fruit. Taste brings quite a savage bitter hop bite with some sweet exotic fruit coming through. A bit overly hopped and overly bitter for my delicate tastebuds.
3.9 500ml bottle at home, beautiful design. Equally beautiful medium cloudy, golden colour, stable, creamy offwhite head. Nicely hoppy nose with citrus fruits, orange zest, spruce. Taste is orange zesty and resinous, firm, sweet and creamy malty base. Bitterness builds, big-time, in the aftertaste. Big body, medium carbonation.
3.7 Bottle at THT. Lekker zacht maar toch stevig brandnetel bitter patjakkertje. Backlog from 2015/11/27.
4.7 This is my kinda beer - Suberp balance - low malt sweetness - highly hopped - quite savory - lovely aggressive bitterness - well done Tuatara - great DAPA.
4.3 Fles 0,5l.
