4.5 Drinking the centennial version. Heavy pine finish. Great head. Excellent sweet IPA. They have the Chinook and Cascade on tap as well.
3.6 Tallahassee, Fl. - New Leaf Market - 22 oz bomber. Sparkling dark copper pour, sticky off-white head, nice film of lacing, Aroma has some solid patented spruce hoppy notes, a hint of minty essence. Flavor is solid with some syrupy hoppy citrus bitter notes, some fruity mango like tropical notes a bit of cake mix sweetness. Thickish mouthfeel. Pretty solid IPA.
3.7 22 ounce bottle from Keg Liquors. Malty, slightly malty IPA with some grapefruit pine. Balanced but not a huge Double IPA. Slightly subdued in finish.
3.4 Bottle from Mr. A’s in Palatine. Pours a golden orange with a foamy off-white head leaving some lace. Aroma has floral hops, pine, some citrus and some toffee. Taste is of sweet fruits, grain, spicy pine and some resin. Later in the glass, the toffee malts kick in and it becomes sweeter. Medium to full bodied with some definite alcohol presence. Finishes strong and sweet, with underlying bitterness fighting for attention, but losing out to the sweetness. Somewhat barleywine-ish, without the layering, probably due to late dry hopping that did not integrate well. 13.4
3.7 Had this on draft at two brothers. Reddish with sticky off white head. Has a dank bitter fruity taste to it. Boozing tropical aroma. Not bad. Not my favorite
3.3 Golden orange with a thin head. Smells fruity, piney, a bit muted. Taste is piney resin with a hint of peach candy, but not too sweet. Some woody dryness at the back end.
3.6 Bottle:   Heavy dank citrus peel, strong maltiness, seems to be bordering on Barley Wine.   A little perfumy too.   Almost has this candied apricot bite to it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   As it warms the aroma even becomes like apricot or peach jam.   Fairly tasty brew.
3.5 22oz bomber- pours cloudy pale orange with cream colored head. Nose is pungent citrus pineapple and guava, resinous hops and some woody herbal hues. Rich bodied and a fair amount of malt and honey sweetness, resinous hops, dry finish. Pretty solid beer but not upper echelon
2.9 Old tick. Fresh hop dipa, maltier one, that equals a pretty bad combo, fresh hops just not for dipas.
3.7 Bomber from Whole Foods PM. Pours hazy dark straw toward orange with clingy off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, citrus, florals. Tastes dry, floral, assertively hoppy, with notes of pineapple and tangerine.
3.8 22 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Floral, grapefruit-citrus aromas kick off this one, and, once it mellows, some caramel malt and earthy aromas take over. There might also be some nuttiness buried in there as well - specifically walnut - but it seemed to come and go. A crystal clear amber-orange color is topped by a creamy white head leaving behind a light lacing as the drink progresses. A sharp hop bitterness greets the tongue on initial sipping, but this mellows to a more smooth bitterness complemented by a caramel malt sweetness with some citrus notes. This mellowing occurs both in the swallow and as the drink warms up. It’s a light bodied beer with a light-low carbonation level. It’s not as sticky as I was expecting an Imperial, wet-hopped IPA to be, and in fact, is pretty dry and crisp. A not offensive, floral, spicy, citrus bittering is left behind in the aftertaste which sticks around for awhile.
3.0 Doesn't knock anything out of the ball park...sweet and muted hop flavors... Ok at best....
3.8 Bomber from Andersons in Toledo. Amber pour with thin off-white. Aroma of caramel, floral, citrus. Tastes are more of the same - sweet malt, pine, grapefruit. Nice and even with a light bitter finish. Good.
3.6 An orange amber DIPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet vinous malt with treacle, floral hops, like a Barley Wine. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with treacle, vinous notes, iodine, alcohol warmth, floral hops, very nice. On tap at Breukelyn Bier Merchants.
3.7 28th September 2013 Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 2. Post fest Tulip Hotel Tasting. Lightly hazy amber beer with a tidy white head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Light pale malt base, Good hops - orange and orange marmalade, pine and mellow lemon. Finishes light. A light and tasty DIPA.
3.6 Bomber to enjoy game 1 of the world series. Pours clear copper with froth tan head and nice legs. Light nose of fruits and pine. Tastes of resin, tropical fruit and oranges, caramel, spice, floral, earth. Lingering fruit finish. Kinda light bodied and thin.
3.7 The aroma is flowers, musty. The appearance is clear deep amber, white head. The flavor is caramel, bread, flowers, citrus. The finish is flowers, citrus, grapefruit. Medium in body. Pretty nice.
4.3 Happy full moon. Pours an awesome glowing bronze with a thick off-white head that leaves some sticky, intricate lace. Nose involves a big dose of pine resin, some orange and grapefruit citrus, some grassiness, marmalade, apricot and peach, floral notes, some light honey, biscuit, and toasted malt notes. Fairly sweet, lightly tart, and quite bitter. Medium toward full bodied, oily, fair carb, juicy, sticky, a touch soapy, with a lingering drying bitter and juicy citrus tart finish. Enjoying the balance, and the exuberant fresh hop notes. I’ve said juicy like three times now, but that’s what’s going on. Incredibly fresh tasting, very rewarding. This year’s version involves locally grown Illinois hops, and I’m pretty impressed with how it turned out.
3.6 22oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Floral hops with citrus, and some toastiness. Lighter caramel in the tastes too.
3.2 Bottle from craft ale house. Pours clear copper with a medium sized white head. The aroma is not pungent, has some floral notes, some light orange. The taste has an assault if citrus.. Orange, lemon, and a light bitterness.
3.8 Bottle shared in Room 316 of the Tulip, Bodegraven, after day II of Borefts ’13, big thanks to Kenny for dragging this one further east and for his slap bass efforts on his thigh! Clear dark golden amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is caramel malt, hops, bitter grapefruit, orange. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, pine, orange pith, toasted malts. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry grassy finish with a good dose of hop bitterness. Decent DIPA.
4.0 Tulip Bodegraven Borefts 2013. Resiny grapefruit pnw hop. Fresh as hell. Good. Lovely. Piney.
4.1 Aroma is spices, hops and slight nuttiness. The flavor is citrus, biscuit malts, light grapefruit, a hint of hop resin and a dryish/tangy finish. Perhaps slightly older than optimal, still very good.
3.6 Pours golden with a good head and nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is pungent, and almost stinky (in a good way) some nice dank hoppiness, some light anise, some fresh greens and a touch of light oak. The flavor is lightly sweet and nicely hoppy, some endive bitterness, some vanilla, and a nice all around hop character. Odd, but tasty. Two brothers always seems to manage to do something totally different with this sort of thing, with a pretty high success rate (at least as far as I’m concerned) This was a very fun beer to try.
3.8 Location: Bottle at Paul’s Tasting, 1/5/13 Aroma: It has a nose of fresh/wet hops, some pine, and light oak Appearance: This beer pours a nice looking, clear copperish color with a bubbly head Flavor: The flavor is fairly hoppy, with a little sweetness and oak to it as well Palate: This one has a smooth, clean feel, some oiliness, and a fairly nice drinkability Overall Impression:  I quite enjoyed this one, and my notes indicate that it was even better then I expected I would be.
3.9 Bottle, thanks for sharing CanIHave4Beers! The body was dark orange with some copper tinting. There was an off white head. The nose was rich caramel with some almonds. There was also some pine and grapefruit, but they were more muted behind the big malt body. The taste was grapefruit along with lots of grapefruit. There was also a bit of almonds. There was some funk and apple core. Nicely balanced, but not for those looking for their big hop fix.
3.4 Bottle at Paul’s Pours copper gold with a white head. Nose and taste of pine, resin, caramel malt, earthy hops and herbal hops. Medium body. Slightly dry resin finish.
3.0 Pours a brilliantly clear copper color. Thin white head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is a bit mild and can only pick up a bit of eathyness. Lots of alcohol in the flavor surrounding by citrus rind. Very dry finish that leaves with bitterness and hints of wood.
3.4 Dark gold pour with a 1-2 finger, soapy white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet malt, citrus, orange slice candy, light berry notes, light buttery oak, toast and pine. Flavor is toast, buttery oak, toffee, herbal hops, citrus hops, pine hops, burnt sugar, lots of overly strong fruity (berry and tree fruit) notes, a pretty large amount of booziness for 8.1%abv, light earthy spice, hints of dry leaves and bread to the finish along with a lingering burnt sugar, toffee and sweet tree fruit finish. Medium body with a creamy to oily entry and dry, bordering on astringent finish. Decent IIPA, a little too boozy and fruity, enough bitterness, but lacking in hoppy freshness and depth.
3.6 Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at a friends house prior to going out for his birthday. Appearance is a cloudy, opaque gold with a prevalent white head. Aroma is hoppy with notes of oak, caramel malt, and a bit of honey. Taste leaves kind of a rough taste, hoppy with an abrasive wood flavor, notes of caramel malt as well. I thought it was good, not something I’d usually drink, but good for the special occasion.
