2.9This was a pretty average IPA. Some orange, some yeast, and a little hoppy nip. Easy finish. Not bad, but could have used a little something.
3.5Golden IPA poured triumphant from the can. Pineapple, citrus hops blend well with caramel sweetness. ’Soft and Pleasant’ works for me!
3.2Drank from can. Light bodied. Dry flavor hop. Lots of carbonation. Pretty sessionable.
3.5Canned. Medium amber body. Moderately hopped, floral and resiny. Sticky sweet finish. Solid IPA.
3.7Bout golden with medium head. Nice blend of hops and malts. Medium carbonation and smooth after taste.
2.7Pours a mildly murky golden with a short white head. Clingy lacing surrounds the interior of the glass. Grassy and citrusy hop nose. Full and smooth with some microscrub on the rear of the palate. Flavor approximates the nose.
3.5It poured a clear golden color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus and pine with some caramel. The taste was of bitter pine and grapefruit flavors with some sweet caramel. It had a medium body with average carbonation. Nice.
3.0Poured from can, pours a murky brownish amber with a light off white head, the aroma was of more sweet caramel and malt rather any hops, the flavor has a sweet grain front end with a slight hop bitterness in the finish, meh.
3.4Pours a cloudy copper with thick off white head. Nice lacing left throughout. There’s a caramel, grass, resin, and pine aroma. Sweet upfront with a nice bitter finish. Flavor’s of caramel, lemon, grass, and floral notes. Medium body that was oily and chewy on the palate.
3.6Pretty decent IPA on draft at the Park Tavern in Rosemont. The beer poured a light orange color with a great pillowy, off-white head. The body was nicely balanced, with woody, floral, dry hops and a bready malt flavor. The Outlaw was smooth and very drinkable. Really nice IPA!
3.4Can. Pours a coppery color with a decent head and some lacing. Aroma of pine, bit of caramel and herbal. Taste of pine, bit of caramel sweetness and grass. Distinct bitterness and a clean finish. Crisp with a hoppy feel.
4.0From a can into a Silly Scotch chalice. Pours clear amber with big head and lace. Aroma of grains and malts. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of amber malts, minerals, caramel, straw hops, slight pine hops, floral hops...overall rich and tasty with a little funky astringency at the end.
3.2Mild aroma of caramel and earthy, grassy, floral hop. Flavor follows suit; a little pepper also. Somewhat thin mouthfeel. Slight bit of earthy, grassy, floral hop bitterness in finish and aftertaste. Easy to drink, pleasant - yet ultimately very average - IPA.
4.2Nice, solid if uneventful IPA. I do like this one. Quite a bit actually. Very well balanced. But, at the end of the day, it’s one of many such IPAs. If you see it on the shelf, buy it. Not worth a trade, however.
3.6Draft at Washington Commons, Brooklyn. Pours a golden orange with a white head that holds. very floral nose - some citrus/orange but mainly floral hops and caramel. Taste is a nice floral hop bitterness. Not a fruit driven IPA, good for a change.
3.6Comes in a can (+) Lots of bitter hops and is reasonably strong, I think I’ve been spoiled by two brothers because this was just ok. I wouldn’t turn one down, but I wouldn’t seek one out. Maybe think about changing the name to mid-level manager, living in an upper-middle class neighborhood, with a cul-de-sac, who’s kids go to public school. That’s borderline edgy i guess. Have fun fitting it on the can.
3.4draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo NY. decent IPA, copperish colored pour, bigger malty backbone, floral, starting to fade bitterness. slightly off finish. ok
3.4Julie sayz smooth not bitter or bitey. She can not believe it is 60 ibu. She gives a 3.0. Highest rating ever for ipa
3.4Poured from can with a swirl date of 6/14/2014 - about 3 1/2 months past this date.
Aroma - Not too appealing...hopefully due to the age.
Appearance - Looks like a decent beer. Had a good finger of creamy head.
Taste - Too much caramel taste - nothing to brag about....but the age isn’t helping either.
Palate - leaves a taste I really don’t care for here....meh.
Overall - should have this beer earlier and maybe it would have received a higher rating...overall very meh.
3.6Tap, orange pour, white head, nose is citrus, taste is citrus, hoppy, some piney flavors, pretty good ipa.
3.3Can into a tulip. Orangeish-golden, quite clear, small white head. Light resin, some grapefruit, citrus. Medium bitterness initially, stronger sweetness than the average IPA. Medium long, reasonably dry finish. Lighter body, some oiliness. Quite a bit of acidity on the tongue, some carbonation. Good, not great.
3.5I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with a white head. Taste caramel, citrus, pine. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.
3.5Pours clear copper with a small white head, The aroma has thick caramel malt, grapefruit, tropical fruits and some cream. It has a medium crisp body with lots of semi-soft carbonation. It has a medium crisp body with lots of semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with pine, grapefruit, dry caramel malt, spice, sulfur and some grassiness. The finish is very dry, zesty and sulfur-y. Decent IPA.
3.2Pours a clear orange with a medium fluffy white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal hops and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of grassy hops, caramel malt and a little citrus(I wish it had more). Some bitterness in the ending.
3.0Pours a hazy orange color with off-white head. Citrus and light fruits plus malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little hop resin.
3.0Bottle. Cloudy orange-gold pour, very little head. Aroma is lots of caramel and flowers. Tastes actually more sweet than bitter. Lots of caramel and flowers and maybe a hint of citrus. A pretty boring IPA.
3.4(draft @ Harry Caray’s Tavern - Chicago, IL) Hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Pine resin dominates the aroma with a bitter and citrus hop undertone. Flavor is piney and sweet at the start with a floral middle leading to a dry and grassy finish.
3.1On tap poured into a sampler glass. The aroma has notes of sweet tangerine and pineapple with some caramel and a bit more grass than floral. It pours a hazy orange yellow with a soft white head that retains well with a full surface coating. It leaves a moderate amount of web lace. It’s a medium high bitter and medium sweet. The thin texture has lots of soft, fuzzy carbonation. The full body is dry and finishes with citrus, caramel, and bread as well a a present spiciness or pine - anise comes to mind, but maybe this is the coffee notes other reviews picked up on? The aftertaste is light and clean.
3.212oz can. Foxbush nails it in noting the coffee like tone..almost somewhere between brown coffee and oily smoked malt undetones. Some marmalade tones onto top of pine as far as the hops. Burnt hop resins, rough hemp tones. Quite possibly faded out in the can. OK.
3.0Can poured a hazy orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, grapefruit zest and light candied orange. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of biscuit, orange zest and light grapefruit with a smooth lightly bitter lingering citrus finish.
