Two Brothers Sidekick

Two Brothers Sidekick

Buddy, pal, mate, brother (or sister) from another mother, compadre . . . sidekick. All of these are ways to describe someone or something that is always at your side. Sidekick extra pale ale is one of those things. This golden colored ale is loaded with juicy citrus and passion fruit hop aroma yet balanced with malt and hop character. A true companion.

3.7 Nice golden color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of floral hops, pine, some fruit, & citrus; Flavor of slight sweet malt, pine hops, and citrus (notably grapefruit); Finish is fairly bitter; Nicely balanced; Pretty good actually.
3.4 bottle @ Jungle Jim;s / Eastgate OH --- Nearly clear light amber color, out-of-control white head that finally settles to a frothy 2" cover, clouds of lace. Taste is wheat that balloons into a semi-sweet tropical fruit bubble on the swallow, moving directly to mild hops in the finish. Although not strong, the hops linger long enough to be the "last man standing." Certainly different, but it works well as a palate cleansing brew.
3.3 Rated on 7-18-2015 at Three Rivers Beer Review, Fort Wayne, IN. This bottled beer is presented with a very small ivory head that is mostly lasting, transparent yellow body, very little fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is citrus and pine hops, fruity and spicy. This beer’s flavor is moderately bitter, citrus, pine hops and fruity. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A quaffable APA beer that is easy drinking.
3.6 Nice citrus hop aroma, pours a clear pale straw with a large white head. Fruity hops are the predominant flavor, with a lingering tropical fruit finish. Not much going on in the way of malts in this one. If you’re a fan of more bitter beers, this is a nice session ale
3.7 Cloudy lemon with frothy head and moderate carbonation. Grassy aroma. Light sugary malts balanced with citrus rind hops. Not impressive on first taste but improves half way down the glass, especially the hop profile. Very nice.
3.6 12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Hy Vee near Drake in Des Moines, Iowa. Swirl by stamped 12/30/15 on the bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed yellow gold with a small white head. The aroma is faint grass, dank and a bit of resin. The taste is the nice resin, softly dank with lemon citrus and cereal grain underneath the hop. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation and a dry mineral resin in the soft bitter finish. Solid Pale Ale.
3.6 Can 47,3cl / Lata 47,3cl. @ Beer Culture, New York, NY, USA A: Hazy golden / Dorado turbio. T/S: Hops, fruity, citrusy, slightly malty / Lupulo, afrutado, citrico, ligeramente a malta.
3.3 Draught. Clear pale yellow with small foamy off-white head, faint hops aroma, medium carbonation, grassy hoppy flavor, lightly bitter taste, medium bitter finish. Nice but not great.
3.7 This was courtesy of Stykzone This was a 12oz ounce can. Poured gold with a white head. Nose of tropical fruit. Medium, body. Flavor of citrus and the fruit .Tropical fruit in finish. Good.
3.6 12 oz can pours amber with a white head. Aroma of citrus, fruit and malts. Taste is caramel and citrus.
3.7 Exactly what they said and are going for. The hops add the extra for the almost ipa, but it’s still a lower level of the pale variety. Pine scent and a touch of citrus hops. The taste is refreshing and easy. Not over or underwhelming. Bottle
3.5 Slightly haze pale yellow. Make sure to work quickly. Beer foams out of the can. Solid apa.
4.1 Great beer when you rate it for what it is. Only 5.1% so you can drink it all day, yet still has plenty of hop flavor. As pale ales go, I really can only think of a few that do it better. This is my summer go to beer. Hoppy, crisp, good floral aroma, drinkable all day. Nuff said.
3.4 For me Sidekick is a great lawnmower beer. Not quite a Session IPA and not really a Summer seasonal. Light, citrus hops and aroma work well in this APA. Looked right a home in my Schimdt’s of Philadelphia beer glass.
3.2 Draft at roundhouse. Light grassy aroma. Very clear pale yellow. Taste is faintly grassy with a non descrpt sweetness. Quenching but seems muted in the hops.
2.9 This bottled brew from a beer festival poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent light orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild citrus breads and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.
3.7 From a 16oz can, into a nonic pint glass. Pours a light, cloudy yellow with lasting thin layer of head and great lacing. Very pale as pale ales go. Aroma is sweet fruit juicy and maybe some grass. Taste is short and fresh, almost tart with some straw and grape or raspberry. Lively carbonation and relatively light aftertaste make this really sessionable and nice for a hot day outside. Nice!
3.6 Can. Very pale, clear pour with virtually no head. A little soap. basically. Aroma is pretty much citrus peel and grass clippings. Flavor is similar, with a little hop bitterness. Finishes fairly dry. Good for the style.
3.4 Bottle. Golden pour, decent head and retention, nose is citrus, tropical fruit and some geraniums. Mouth is medium bodied, dry and tastes like it smells. Decent session beer from a brewery that I don’t typically find many good things to say about.
3.2 On tap in Chicago. Very pale straw colored body. Very fruity beer. Almost had maybe a raspberry taste too it. Could be passion fruit? Either way, it wasn’t really my thing, but was still a solid beer.
4.0 Refreshing fruity pale with a mild pine bitterness. Rather short finish but well worth the time.
2.8 Bottle. Fairly pleasant. Good balance of carbonation. A little bitterness to the taste. Pale yellow.
3.9 Can poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas ofbiscuit, grapefruit zest and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry fnish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit zest and a hint of earthiness with a crisp dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.
3.6 pretty nice, very easy drinking brew. Would have again. Nice to see this after some disappointments with Two Brothers previously.
3.6 Two brothers sidekick - pale yellow, grassy hop, lightly grape like, mild bitterness, thin body
2.9 On tap at the International Tap House in Soulard. Pours a hazy light yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is slight pine. Flavor is thin and watery. Decent.
3.2 Can. Cloudy amber pour with a very small head that fades to a ring. Aromas are fresh cut grass, citrus, light caramel, and light tropical fruit. Tastes like dry, bitter citrus peels with a good amount of grass and hop spice. Decent but more dry than I like my pale ales.
3.7 Pour from bottle. Yellow-gold in color, small white head, hardly any lace. Medium hop content. Spice, citrus, wheat, alcohol notes. Pretty basic formula but one that is crisply done. Enjoyed two bottles at Christopher’s in Wayne. This is what an APA should be.
3.2 Pours minimum head, semi clear. A nice hop flavor but a strong taste of grains.
3.9 Six pack from Chicago trip. Pours from the can into a bright yellow fogged color with a foamy top layer. A very pure hop aroma full of citrus. The sip has a nice carbonation. A bready background. Very quenching and crushable. A citrus feel on the tongue. Good stuff. Great session pale.
