3.6 Sometimes it happens when you clean up, you find some old school ratings on paper. This is one of them. Alone at home. Brown colored beer with browhnish head and no carbonation. Malty copper roasted aroma. Full slightly sparkling palate. Finish is malty roasted bitter.
3.9 Butelka 0,33 litra, zakupiona przez koleżankę w holenderskim Jumbo. Wypita 8.11.2020.
4.3 A nice smell of chocolate and roasted malt, light touch of sherry. The medium large creamy hear has a rather long duration, the body is black. A lot of malt and chocolate, medium bitter, very nice! The body is strong, creamy with a lively carbonation.
3.9 33cl fles. Zwart bier met licht bruin schuim. Geur: koffie, vanille, melkchocolade, zoethout, kandij. Smaak: straffe koffie, geroosterde mout bitterheid, wat kandij, ietwat beukennoot. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: zwarte chocolade bitterheid. Lekker.
3.8 Płyn pozbawiony jest prześwitów - mętny. Barwa czarna. Piana jasno brązowa, wysoka i trwała. Zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków tworzy bardzo zwartą "czapę". Pozostawia zdobienia po każdym przechyleniu szklanki. Aromat karmelowy, palony. Są ziarna kawy, ciemne słody z delikatną nutą lukrecji w tle. W smaku dominuje kawa, gorzka, mocna z lekkimi akcentami lukrecji, karmelu i wyraźną kawową goryczką. Alkohol dobrze schowany. Wysycenie średnie. Ciało wysokie do średniego.
4.0 Bottle 33cl. Deep black with a creamy brown top that fades quickly. Aroma of coffee, sugar, anise. The taste is sweet and has CO2 accents at first. But a mildly bitterness that reminds me of coffee or chocolate kicks in which develops beautifully into a strong bitter aftertaste. Nice!
3.1 Head disappears quickly. Very burnt and bitter coffee flavour. Hardly any aroma.
4.0 330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Roasty dark malty and piney hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, spring onion. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and bitter, piney hoppy, subtle malt sweetness, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, some zesty, citrusy hoppy hints of orange; lingering chocolately and citrusy finish, orange flavoured dark chocolate. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Well crafted, well balanced, harmonious, highly drinkable and quite close to a BIPA - pretty good.
3.9 Delicious! Crisp, bitter, notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Very dark colour, brown head.
4.0 Een lekkere imperial porter met 8% alcohol. Van ‘Two Chefs Brewing’ in Amsterdam. Zacht, vanille, mild-droge afdronk. Mag er zijn! Uit de schap bij AH.
3.6 Fles 33cl thuis. Bitter, citrustonen, pure chocolade, espresso, zuren, roasted malts, wat zoetjes, aardetonen, droog, licht klef. Citrus geeft een frisheid. (20-3-2020).
3.5 Ordentlicher Bumms mit einer schönen Balance im aromatischen Bereich. Schokoladig, schwer, Röstaromen, etwas Vanille. Vollmundig und prickelnd schön zum Abschluss.
3.6 Pours hazy black with a lasting, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of toast, mocha, dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, chestnut. Taste has light sweet chocolate, mocha, powdery effect into a bitter core of toast, coffee, underlying nuttiness & umami hints. Quite dry, toasty, earthy hoppy finish, more powdery than creamy, subtle hint of coffee liqueur alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Good beer but needs more 'Imperial' thickness.
3.8 Bottle from Albert Heijn supermarket in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. The beer is black colored with a stable cappuccino foam. Carbonation is average. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits, chcocolate, coffee, nuts, vanilla and spices. The taste is medium bodied and light sweet with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruits. It goes to pleasant dry and bitterness with chocolate, coffee and spices. The finish is dry and bitter and leaves some coffee notes.
3.8 33 cl bottle, served in snifter. Poured black with two finger tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, vanilla, licorice, dark fruit, caramel, roasted malts. Taste: bitter dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malts, licorice, soy sauce, raisins, plums, nutty, leather. Oily mouthfeel. Medium body with roasted bittersweet finish. Very nice porter!
3.5 Bottle from Albert Heijn, Rotterdam, Holland. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit aroma and taste with a slightly bitter finale. Not a bad porter.
Hoge bitterheid, koffie, chocolade. Tamelijk laag alcoholpercentage.
3.8 Zwart bier met minimaal koolzuur. Geur gebrande mout, chocolade. Smaak gebrande mout, chocolade, vanille, suikers. Vol mondgevoel. Nasmaak mout, suikers, beetje cassis, mout bitter, hop. Prima
4.0 This bottle is coming from the sterk, at Amsterdam. Drinking and enjoying this bottle, at Bonfol, during the last winter. The body is black, more liquid than a stout, normal carbonation, thin white and brown foam. In my own opinion, it is a solid porter with all the qualities than you need, not so far than a stout, side of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and hop, aromatic and smooth mouthfeel staying a long at the palate.
3.6 33cl bottle from Beerwulf Webshop. F: medium, tanned, average retention, diminishing to thin film. C: black, opaque. A: sweet dark malty, dark dried fruits, dark caramel, chocolate, cocoa, bit coffee. T: roasted malts, bit nutty, chocolate, cocoa, plums, smoky touch, bit herbal, full body, lower carbonation, good balanced, nice one, enjoyed.
3.5 Barwa ciemnobrunatna, nalewa się z ładną, drobną pianą. W aromacie ciemne słody, lukrecja, wiśnia, pumpernikiel. W smaku ciemne słody, lekka paloność, trochę czekolady i śliwki, w kierunku wytrawnego. Ciało średnio-pełne, alkoholu nie czuć, jest za to wyraźna goryczka. Przyzwoity porter.
3.7 (bottle 0,33l from OP (Brno)) Overall: Nice. Quite complex. Dark dried fruits with some alcohol bite and chocolate. Aroma: Dried dark fruits, raisins, light chocolate, some alcohol. Appearance: Clear dark brown. Minimal, beige head. Taste: Medium sweet, dried dark fruits, plums/raisins, light spicy alcohol, chocolate. Palate: Medium body. Long light spicy, light astringent finish.
3.8 07-02-2019; bottle; at home (bought at an unknown location). The looks of the beer are very nice. The colour is a nice deep dark ruby red. The glow is amazing. In the glass it has an almost purple dark colour. Lovely. On top there is a minimal layer of greyish brown foam. The foam is rough and foam retention is low; hardly anything is left after some seconds. The beer seems to be clear. Noice. The aroma of the beer is nice. A tiny bit rough though. The malts are toasted and roasted. They are a bit peaty and come with nice chocolate and coffee. It could use a touch of caramel and toffee though; something sweet. The hops are spicy. Yeast is not bringing any strong aromas. Maybe a slight fruity ester. Mainly malts, but they are a tiny bit rough. The taste of the beer is nice, but slightly unbalanced. The malts are a bit sweet, but not as sweet as needed. They have strong bitterness from the roast. Together with the bitter hops, the beer becomes a bit too bitter. It should have a bit more sweet malty caramel notes. The pate of the beer is alright. Medium body, slightly slick texture and medium carbonation. The finish of the beer has nice roasted malts, followed by rather dry bitter notes. Also, slightly rough. Overall it is a nice beer, but it could be polished up a bit on the edges.
3.7 Bottle drank on a bench at Leidesepein. Big, heavy, malty. Retains proper porter characteristics. Chocolate, graham cracker, oily black malt. Pretty solid beer.
3.7 I actually enjoyed this at full moon. Good experience. Very smooth, tasty and easy drinkable porter. Dark chocolate, roast and coffee are the most prominent flavor and aroma. Balanced fine sweetness and an ok carbonation level. [Bottle from Gundersen]
3.8 (Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 26 Aug 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate and hints of blueberries. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, coffee, blueberries and a balanced cacao bitterness. Almost full body, with a velvety mouthfeel. Slight sweetness. Really tasty and well balanced. Very nice.
3.3 Decent amounts of chocolate and liquorice. Light carbonation. Goes down easily. A little bitter in the tail. Fairly classic porter. I like it.
3.1 For me middle of the road porter. I've tasted better and worse. The different taste components are there but I do not like the balance. Too much liquorice and chocolate.
